  1. I'm sure they all live on nearby council estates and have parents who are either on benefits or "disabled" and basically shouldn't be allowed to have kids at all. Is weird, and sad, but I was brought up on council estates, and my mums house is in a predominantly council area, and I've never been one of those look down my nose at council estate people, but by god how that's changed over the last six months. Since moving in with my girlfriend who lives on a notoriously dodgy council estate in Sale, I've seen just how bad these kids are. They have absolutely no hope in life of ever doing anything other than stealing from and terrorising other people. The parents are useless, couldn't give a shit, can't control their kids, and obviously have not made any effort whatsoever to grow their kids into something even remotely worthwhile. I add "disabled" above, because this estate had a very bad reputation perhaps a decade ago, so the housing association brought about a policy of only allowing tenants who are either employed or disabled. Now the majority of the residents are disabled alcoholics, epileptics etc. who have no problem whatsoever sitting outside squawking at midnight with their 1yr old babies, but can't get a job and have to be given free houses because of their debilitating illnesses. Oh, and they'll steal your wheels and leave your car on bricks so you have to park it a mile away at a family members house and get picked-up/dropped off every morning and night. And they'll murder people. This is Cheshire indeed. Yes, I know I shouldn't moan. I should just buy a house. Well, we're still saving for the £15k deposit. Half-way there.
  2. If you're not doing much volume, most couriers will start you off on ~£14 + vat per item. I suspect that some discussion with the account manager as to the volume you will be sending should enable you to get a better rate, perhaps £8 - 9 for average sized items. I like courier companies that keep their gates open late. Business Post is OK because I can drop items off at the depot anytime up to 8pm and it'll still go out that night.
  3. I just had a good chat with my friendly postman, and he says the staff who don't want to strike have no choice in the matter. If they go in when the union have a strike, others go and key their cars. Last year when there was a strike other staff were throwing coins at people who were working, saying "if you're that fucking desperate for money.. blah blah". Somebody went to the sorting office the night before that strike and filled the lock to the gates with super-glue so that nobody could get in.
  4. My thoughts exactly. It'll be stunning with a proper nose on it, and maybe some of those big dials and gauges hidden inside.
  5. Most people have aftermarket alarms now with a separate fob for the central locking, which is why it was so difficult to figure out what this box actually was.
  6. Tossers. These people are meant to be employees of Royal Mail, not fucking business partners who can decide they don't want to conduct business because they're not getting their own way. http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=1000002&mediaId=51600692
  7. Yes. This mystery box is the receiver for it.
  8. You saw the price and obviously decided it was agreeable. It's not fair to start questioning it now after the fact just because the sellers actual postage costs were less. Given the choice of either over-estimating the cost of postage for something, or underestimating and potentially coming out at an overall loss following eBay and PayPal fees, and then under-estimated postage, I'd over-estimate it every time. It also takes time and fuel to get to a post office or office supplier for packaging material, and then get it actually posted. Whether it was a genuine over-estimation or an attempt at circumventing eBay fees shouldn't matter really IMO.
  9. LOL I have a 15,000rpm U320 SCSI drive as my boot/programs drive on my computer at my mums, and.. to be honest, erm, it's noisey, it needs an SCA -> 68pin adapter, the controller disables write-back cache on every reboot, and erm, it's only 74gb. I think I posted a benchmark when I was trying to sell another one of the cards on here, and it managed something like 74mb/sec which I was quite impressed with but I really don't see much benefit. I'm absolutely sick of drives failing though, and I like watching the activity lights flicker in a RAID5 array, so I bought a Dell Perc5i SAS/SATA card w/8 channels & 256mb of DDR2 memory on board, PCI-E x8, but I can't find any motherboards with usable PCI-E x8 slots in them
  10. When is it? Yes I want them I tried to ring last week, or was it the week before (or was it the week before?) in the daytime.. I could come and get them from Trafford park, I'm only up the road When did you change your name?
  11. I didn't think comsumer-level drives had got beyond 10,000rpm yet, and that's the Raptors. Have they bought out some new ones?
  12. Nope. You can't. They come configured as RAID0 and there's no option to change it. So it'd be a complete re-install when the machine arrived.
  13. All of their better spec'd Dimension machines are coming with RAID-0 striped disks, meaning there's a much higher chance of losing all your data. For some reason they think this is called "failsafe storage" hmm Could do with ordering a couple as well but I can't be arsed with the sales-types they employ. http://www2.css-networks.com/stripe.jpg
  14. "Amplifier Assy, Stereo Component" So it's an RF or Audio amp. If it says Fujitsu TEN on it then it's guaranteed to be audio related anyway.
  15. Very clever indeed. All these people and only... 1 (?) person thought of that Love the afterdrama too
  16. They just need to sort out the nose a little. It's too low and sloping for my liking, makes it look like French attempt at a supercar (can't remember the one.. Venturi?)
