  1. Quotes from Al Murray aka 'The Pub Landlord' ? Cheers, Sherriff
  2. Dude, Thanks a lot for the info, much appreciated. I'll be sorting that asap. You wouldn't happen to know the part number by any chance? Cheers, Sherriff
  3. Noticed an odd noise from the engine bay tonight whilst driving home from work and then noticed my fan belt squeaking whilst backing into the garage at home, after taking a closer look it seems that the plastic 'pulley' has sheared from whatever it's supposed to be attached to and is now loose but trapped by a pipe running down the front of my engine. My fan belt is now obviously loose and i'm thinking that I won't be driving the car until this is fixed, so any replies will be much appreciated. I've nicked a pic from somebody else's thread and the red arrow points to the part in question, can anybody tell me what it is, and what it's supposed to do when it's not broken? Cheers in advance for any info, Sherriff
  4. Muffleman, I use the standard dualshock analogue controller with manual gears. I also turn off all the driver assists and traction control options in the main menu's. I was going to buy the Logitech wheel, but the need for 2 new rear tyres for the Supra eat up the steering wheel fund and then some I'm not sure if there's a secret to the spirals, the game seems to be trying to teach the virtues of part throttle and small steering inputs, I often end up watching the demo movies for each test to see where i'm losing time, if you use the in car view you can see the controller inputs which is sometimes helpful. Good luck Sherriff
  5. Finished the International B last night with all golds, now starting on the International A. The coffee break tests are getting more tricky, the sodding spirals were pretty hard especially the one in the TVR. All golds on the National A license netted me the 'Gran Turismo' stickered and tuned skyline, and all golds on the International B got me a Jensen Interceptor, I'm wondering what the International A will offer up. Cheers, Sherriff
  6. It's funny, a number of other people have indicated that i'm being a bit sad in my quest for golds in all the tests... Planetside is still going (I wouldn't say strongly, the game has recently lost a lot of players to World of Warcraft), but the teamplay aspect of it can be very rewarding. Anyway, i'll just get me coat... Sherriff
  7. Does playing GT4 and Planetside count as wasting your weekend? and I did manage to clean the car in between games so that's my fresh air quota fulfilled as well. I'm halfway through the license tests so far with gold cups in every one including the 3 coffee breaks I know I could just go and get bronze's to pass them, but the gold cups give more prize cars. Cheers, Sherriff.
  8. Does anybody else actually do the all the tests first before they play the game (or am I the biggest saddo on this particular thread?) My aim is to complete all the tests with gold cups and then start playing properly. I've got 14 golds so far in the first license (only 2 left to get) and should be starting on the second lot tonight. The Mini around tsukaba has been the most tricky one so far. Cheers, Sherriff.
  9. Cheers for the link, i'll check it out In this case i'm happy to be wrong. Sherriff.
  10. Just to let people know, there's no online mode in GT4, you can play on a LAN, but the online mode has been removed. The rumors are that a GT4.5 will be released with the online stuff inlcuded later in the year. Cheers, Sherriff.
  11. Thats a shame , the Supra i'd tuned on GT3 had 1081bhp and was an absolute beatch to keep in a straight line, it was a lot of fun to drive though, with oversteer on demand at just about any speed I've been playing the Japanese version of GT4 on a mates chipped PS2 and the new physics engine seems to be incredibly well done, there's an amazing amount of content, the license test with the full lap of 'The Ring' in an old skool 2.5 Cosworth Mercedes is entertaining. I'm going to be heading to the local 24hr Tesco's at midnight and then hassling the sales staff to stock the shelves Cheers, Sherriff.
  12. Chris, I'd like to see that video, I wonder if there's anyone who'd be kind enough to host it for you somewhere? Cheers, Sherriff.
  13. I always thought the passenger seat was fixed height and couldn't be adjusted up and down, I know I can't change it in my RZ anyway. Cheers, Sherriff.
  14. That is an amazing run , guess Leon's getting towards a setup he's happier with. Cheers for the update Dude, Sherriff.
  15. Having a bit of a pootle around on the web and from some slightly hazy memories about some stuff I read a while ago I reckon the RX-7 could be putting out around the 375 - 450bhp mark if it's been setup right. Could be fun in a sort of sliding around all over the place with the wheels spinning kind of way Cheers, Sherriff.
  16. Me neither, off for a weeks holiday. Cheers, Sherriff.
  17. It's an estate version of the Galant, 4wd 280bhp/268lb ft with a twin turbo 2.5 litre V6. Not a bad motor, quite a stealth bit of kit I would imagine for everyday use... Cheers, Sherriff.
  18. Great day out, a bit windy but no rain Good to meet more people MrAngry, kghelmet, Barney, Scooter, GeoffValentini, Salvatore the list goes on, and see some familiar faces as well. Cheers, Sherriff.
  19. I've just called Santa Pod to check on the gate opening times for Sunday. The lady told me that normal opening hours were 8.00am for Sunday events, but she then asked if I was with a club, I proudly replied the MKIV Supra club and she then said that we should be allowed in from 7.00am So maybe i'll turn up early being only 10 minutes away and get a good place in the club area and some zzzz's in my deck chair until everyone else arrives? See you Sunday, Cheers, Sherriff.
  20. I think the 'stand' tickets in the question refer to the mkivsupra.net club stand. As for viewing there's a big grass bank on the right hand side of the track, and lots of viewing space on the other side at track level. Cheers, Sherriff.
  21. You toasted me the other day with a 5.3 1/4!! Git! And there I was thinking my 6 second passes were not too shabby....... Cheers, Sherriff.
  22. RS200! My Cerbera's up to 575bhp now, running mid 7's, saving for bigger Turbo's and more NOS, or for a 959.... Cheers, Sherriff.
  23. Hello matey, have you checked that the wiring on the SLD is all ok? I thought the speed signal went through that unit first before the speedo, so if the wiring's come loose then you'd be getting no speedo reading at all? I could well be wrong and if I am no doubt somebody else will correct me before too long Take it easy, and good luck with the re-trim, hope to catch up with you at Santa Pod in October. Cheers, Sherriff.
  24. I'm not racing you yet Mcanny, i've seen you running 7.8's Cheers, Sherriff.
  25. Ash Racing It's been improved since it was first mentioned on the boards, it's now running on a nice fast server, the speed of the site was the biggest bugbear I think. Free to register and play for up to an hour a day. Cheers, Sherriff.
