  1. May be off point here, but how can fitting a FMIC imcrease boost? Just cools the charged air. You must have had a leak in the old intercooler piping ArdZ
  2. yes + leather heated seats, steal turbos- vent, larger brakes +discs- bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump the list is endless :
  3. - check the pipes that go through the fire wall to the dash. They should be very hot. if all is normal i.e warm up time - and coolant level is stable then check to see if you can hear a buzz noise when you turn the dial for the temperature as this would indicate that the air ducts are working. if not then you air duct may be stuck to bypass the heater matrix.
  4. Yep- got it right- UKs have a bigger wastegates so can cope better then the Jspecs at controlling boost. You would nees to fit a controller. I find that a simple bleed valve works very well.
  5. DO the servicing your self- Fluids/pads/plug/ filters are all easy to change. would save you a few bob.
  6. Ha ha- Both front and backs keep going:p
  7. 2001. 320i- he is having to change the bulbs every 2-3 months. Any ideas what to check.
  8. You sure!! I have left a N/A as a spot in my rear view mirror and that was to 60mph:D . Stock too a time. The N/A 0-60 is 6.8 secs. with a good launch. ArdZ
  9. Mine is not a ball and spring either. its just a bleed valve. works a treat!!!! Seriously its fine. Had mine on now for over a year- running just a little over stock- 0.1bar more. Its fine. mine looks like this. just cut the pipe and put the two silver ends on to each end of the cut pipe. make sure its secure. bleed air out- to increase boost. NOT TO MUCH!! and remeber this is just advise-so I can't be responsible for anything that happens as a result of increasing boost. HAD TO SAY THAT. LOL http://www.abbottracing.com/2002/images/tuning/apc_bleed_valve.jpg
  10. Have you got both cats out?- + performace exhaust- if yes then you will need a restrictor ring in the exhaust to control the boost. Dont drive arround at 1.3bar. 1.2bar at the very most-take it easy untill you get it sorted. If both cats are out then there is no need for a controller to raise the boost as the boost rises on its own coz of the reduced back pressure.
  11. removed mine. leaked. don't need it unless you to 100+ mph for long periods of time. Germany (Euro spec/UK)
  12. I thought that was behind the radiator. ?
  13. been working on car. I found a cooler located in the passenger side bumper opening. In the same place as the SMIC but on the other side. Def no another intercooler
  14. Worse job ever- They bloody glue the screws in. Live with it
  15. yep thats the one. Have you got your cats in? If you have -don't raise it more that 0.9bar.
  16. Just doing some basic routine testing- anyone got a tip on how I can pressure test the intercooler and its pipe work. Gonna block off one end with a tin of beans but need a way to attach a tyre valve to the other end. Some sort a home made fabricated thingy is what i am after really-to also block off the other end but have a tyre valve that I can attach an electric pump to.
  17. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13234 Bleeder goes on the pipe that the red arrow points to. Bottom nipple! Just cut that pipe in half. Put your bleeder in. Thats it. Half a turn= about 0.1 bars worth of extra boost. Be careful! If you are using a ball and spring type manual boost controller then it goes on the nipple above the red arrow.
  18. Has the big red triangle lit up at all? The one that goes bright red when the handbrake or door is opened. If it stays on whe n all doors are closed and handbrake is down then you have a stored fault code.
