  1. I agree, and would not want to be on their shoes ... the next 6 years are going to be a minefield for politics. I dont think I will notice the 2.5% cut which really equates to 2p in the pound on what you spend ... instead of a £1, its 98p ... I won't be spending the 2p change on anything and it will jsut go in my coppers jar ... How this helps the economy I cant see ... Why on earth did they just not help the banks lend, and spend a bit more on tax credits ... i.e. where the money is really noticed.
  2. None of the above until after the next election ... so none of it will happen.
  3. VED prices up by a £5 next year
  4. He just slipped it in ... f#cker !
  5. About 1000 jobs going from the company I work for, and probably more next year. The guys in the US dont even get redundancy pay, just a nice letter. Credit crunch is soooo real to those 1000. I bet the 2p rise on fuel duty gets slipped in at the same time as the VAT cut ....
  6. Well, despite lots of PMs the door is still up for grabs at the crazy price of £25 ... !! "Its a bargain, a steal, sale of the century. F#ck it, in fact I'll keep it myself." Or something like that for those LSTSB fans Seriously, its a great door for just £25. Dont PM me, unless you really want it and really want to pay £25 and really want to come and collect it from my house in Stoke Poges, Bucks. Maybe its too cheap, and I should put the price back up to £100 ?
  7. lol, one of my pet hates is tyre pressures out ... kills the handling instantly. Surely I am not alone with this ????????
  8. Really feel for you mate ... I once bought a new Alfa 156 and spent just over £30k getting it modded ... the VERY first time I parked it on a road, some tw#t reversed into it and then drove away. Whole thing was caught on cctv but couldn't see his number plate ... just saw hime stop, get out look around and drive off. Cost me £1k to fix to avoid losing NCB etc etc. Get a piece of wood, tie a rope around it, and beat it with your fists until you draw blood. Then you'll be less likely to take it out on some innocent person later.
  9. Every time I drive the car ... you can 'feel' 1 or 2 psi either way ...
  10. Picked up the Supra last night, good to meet Imran, nice friendly guy Car seems fine, engine purrs as it should, and apart from the wheels and a few very minor blemishes bodywork is very presentable. Just needs the water leak fixed, new set of boots and possibly a new set of headlights. And thats it ! Am hoping to get it all sorted over the winter, and get her back on the road in the spring... A huge amount of car for what I paid...
  11. I would go for the 2.5TT ... having owned both, I would never buy a 2.0TT again, as they are just lacking power for such a heavy chassis, and the wide body variant is an improvement over the more common narrow body 2.0TT. I sold my 2.5TT manual a few years ago and I still miss it ... dare I say that it was built better and had more character than my VVTi ... Luckily for me I still have a 2.5TT auto, but that's no longer being driven as its being saved for a museum ;-) Or is it that I just can't drive an auto and smile at the same time Top of my list for cars to import at the moment is a grey 2.5TT manual with low miles ... never seen one yet , but maybe one will appear ...
  12. Any experience of the Rays SF Challenge ... ? (not that I have a set on order)
  13. RE050A's all the way ... be very sure to get the 'A' version as most tyre companies will sell you 050s instead without realising they are different. For specs see the bridgestone web site. Superb tyre and excellent in damp/wet ... so so in the dry.

    How Much!!

£2700ish ... I think there was one on here for sale that was/is similar to yours and sold around that price. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330275646439
  15. Chris, Given the above, what would be your recommendations then from the aftermarket brands ?
  16. Read your highway code ... amber means STOP ! You should seek professional advice from a reputable drivers defence unit ... google it ... but it will cost you. If you try to defend it yourself I can't see you overturning anything. I would also remove your first post ...
  17. I spent about a year looking around at what was available, price, weight being very important, looks not so ... discounted most due to being too heavy, or not sufficient quality that I would spend £s on them. Ended up choosing Volk SF Challenge as they ticked all the boxes and are still available (in case of damage etc etc). Size was always going to be 18" as that is the best compromise for handling etc, but have gone for a slightly wider than average width on the tyres to improve traction (once the geometry is sorted).
  18. My laptops not as fast as my Supra
  19. If you are lucky then you might get an invite to attend a one day safety course in lieu of the points ... depends on what your actual recorded speed was ... and of course if the camera was switched on when you drove past
  20. Remove the door card and inspect it first .. could be the cable starting to fray causing the motor grief.
  21. 1, Drivers window needs to be re-aligned. 2, Power steering pump pulley is noisy when cold. 3, REAS suspension needs to be replaced next year. 4, Boot doesn't pop open far enough when released from inside, so you have to use the key. 5, Couple of plastic bolts missing from the inside panels. 6, Stonechip on the windscreen needs 'resin' fix. 7, Its not yet wearing a set of 18" Volks SF Challenge wheels with Bridgestone RE050A's 8, The bass speakers are not powerful enough to puncture my ear wax. 9, The RSR exhaust back end is no longer shiny. 10, The rear number plate is too big.
  22. Yeah, but think of it this way .. although your car might be worth less so are all the others, and the more they were then the bigger the price drop. People always think that selling at the bottom of a market is the wrong time to sell, but believe me if you are planning to buy something else it is absolutely the BEST time as you will have so much to choose from at a great price too. I just bought (am buying), a NA Auto with 100k for £1300 ... absolute bargain ... but then my Jeep Cherokee is worth not much more than a bucket load of sh#t with the bucket taken away. Crystalize your loss and move on
  23. £2200 to £2700 depending on actual condition...
