Thanks for that. I would rather do a lot now and prepare for any future upgrades too.

Nope - this is definitely a turbo swap. I had thought about the V6 route but decided I wanted the "thrust" of a turbo rather than the linear power of the V6. In saying that, lets see just how long the thrill lasts before wanting more power
  4. Looking at your location beneath your avatar, shouldn't it sound more like "Ayup God darn it"

Thanks Toxo - and good advice regarding the leaks. I spoke to Alun last night (AJ Engines) and he said the same to me.

Due to me cooking my engine over the weekend (and warping the head ) the swap has now taken on a more urgent aspect and so I am sourcing and buying parts accordingly. One quick question I have is regarding spark plugs. I will be running 1 - 1.1 bar of boost and was thinking of putting in the BKR6ES or slightly colder BKR7ES copper plugs as I don't think there is a real need for iridium. What are your thoughts?

    Head stud query

Thank you for the reply my friend. I think for the difference in price, the OEM ones win out.
  11. Well done straightsix! And, as my friend tooquicktostop says, it really is a great club.

  18. Hang on JB, I never once said we should not have paid traders. I know full well that they (as well as the members) are the life blood of the forum and nowhere have I suggested that they can be allowed to trade for free. As I said in the initial post, my point was when does an initial post offering a one off service be deemed as advertising and a threat to the regular traders - not "why not let everyone trade for free".

  20. That's where I am coming from Scott. If it is car related and in direct competition of the incumbent traders then I can understand why they should be stopped straight away. But, using the fella today who worked for a company that organised track days as an example, who is he going to hurt by just advertising the fact that it is what he does?
  21. I can see absolutely no fun in having to shell out serious money to put things right. It must be an age thing
