I need to do some work on the heavy punch bag first before I have a fecking heart attack through frustration

I have just got back to TT technical support and what a joke they are. I rang them to complain about the line problem on Thursday at around 10.00. They gave me a load of waffle, kept me waiting bloody ages and finally said they would do checks and a level 2 support person would ring within 48 hours. I rang them again yesterday (in India of course) and they said that they had rung me but got no reply. That was lies as i had not been out all day! They then promised me that if i had not received a call by 11.00 this morning then they would transfer me str8 through to the other department. It will come as no shock to hear that i still hadn't received a call and so i called them again to be told that level 2 support does not work over the weekend and I will have to call back on Monday! What a fucking joke!

I dont have another laptop - at least not a working model. I too think it is the ISP as it has worked OK up until a few days ago.

Ah well, thats buggered it. I just checked the PC World stores and none of the local ones have it in stock.

Do you have any recommendations on a particular model?

I might just pop out to PC world or the ilk and get a new one. Any recommendations on a fairly inexpensive one?

If it had been my image I would have done the same. If Michael had been subject to half the shit that Martin gave me then I can understand why he would not have been happy to see one of his images posted on that site in a helpful manner. I am assuming that you realised if you had asked Michael permission he would have said no eh?

I am not sure how to check that TBH. Where do I look? The external lights on the router only shows power, link, and Lan 1,2,3,and 4

I agree that buying an accident recorded car is not a problem providing the repairs have been done properly. My concern is when people hide the fact. That then leads me to think they may be hiding other things too! I cannot remember what category it was TBH.

I have used this site. The problem I am experiencing is that during the test (and this happens in normal practice too) I start off showing a download speed of around 1.5mb but within seconds this starts to drop down to 56k and then stays there. It manifests itself in real time on sites like yourtube by downloading a portion of the video very quickly but then stopping. I have spoken to TalkTalk (useless in the extreme) and they are due to call m back today before 11.00.

That car has been for sale for some time. It is recorded as an insurance write off.

I use an older router (Zoom ADSL X5) and was wondering if that could be the cause of my line speed dropping off (starts at 1.5mb then within seconds drops to 52k) when downloading from any site? Also, do routers have a line speed limit they can handle?

It has to be electrical. All of them suffer from electrical problem of some sort or another.

In America there will be lots - in the UK only if someone has gone to the trouble of converting an auto. Your chances of finding one are slim.
