  1. NIce one, cheers mate.
  2. Yes your'e right Simon, having said that I actually have that one fitted as well but it didn't cover that front duct that feeds into the airbox. I got it from Envy so you can probably view them on their website. I have to say though, that some decent foam packing would probably do just as good a job, maybe even better.
  3. Michael, who did you get it done by, and was it laser alignment ? Would like to get mine done so assume the place you went to wont be too far as I'm in Bradford. Also I assume you waited with the car while it was done. cheers mate.
  4. You would normally only fit these if you installed an FMIC, there is already a plastic panel in place but because it curves downwards you can't put it back in once the FMIC has been installed. This is when you put the flat and slightly more blingy panel in place.
  5. Flippin 'eck Willson, that looks awsome, love the wheels by the way.
  6. Yes, it's got NSX paint. Just kidding, it's most likely nothing more than marketing hype, but most of us still fall for it in our attempts to buy the absolute best product.
  7. Zymol is absolutely fantastic. I've been using it about 2 years, you only need to use it about twice a year (for a full treatment), but you can re-wax in between if you want. Unfortunately I dont have any pics of my freshly Zymolled car but pics wouldn't do any justice to the finish anyway. Your best off getting the starter kit which costs a hundred quid, and go for the Japon wax which is specific to japanese paint, (Except the Honda NSX which has it's very own wax). The kit includes HD Cleanse, Shampoo, wax, sponge applicator, teflon coated cloth and a spritzer bottle that you use for when claying the car. This is a small clay strip which is usually £10 extra and is used to remove oxidisation. Meguiars have recently introduced a clay and spray product which you could use instead of the Zymol clay bar and is about £8 and you get 3 times as much clay. The most impressive product is HD Cleanse, after using this my 12 year old paint looks like it's about a month old. By the way, I don't work for Zymol, I've also heard very good things about Meguiars and Swissol which I think is just a rip off Zymol but still very high quality. Phew, that turned out to be a long post, hope it helps anyway.
  8. Just ordered my 4, hope I don't get bombarded with junk e-mails. cheers mate
  9. So how many coats do you guys reccommend ?
  10. After using the hammerite do you need to use lacquer to seal the decals on ? Cheers.
  11. I use Toyota Red coolant (not Forlife) also used to use the same in my Celica GT4, no problems whatsoever. I'm sure you should only use red as green is not suitable for higher performance cars.
  12. Definitely will, I'll be doing mine today, might take some pics if I can find my digi camera.

    Fuse locations?

It's on the drivers side, whichever side the steering wheel is on.
  14. need a login to view the pics.
  15. Peter Sharp, are you sure he's having that TVR modded and not just repaired for the umpteenth time after _______________________. You can choose the following options for the blank; Wipers dont work Wiper wont switch off Locked out of car Locked in car Lights not working windows wont shut rubber seals coming off Swimming pool appeared in passenger footwell pieces of trim breaking off Suspension collapsed The car is cracked You get the idea, fanatstic looking car though, and bloody quick, I've driven a few. By the way, my car is definitely one of the better cars at work, the next best is probably a high spec Honda legend coupe, so not much competition.

    speakers?

You've got no choice but to remove the boxes, the 6.5's just wont fit otherwise.
  17. Some whining is very normal, i'd be more worried if it suddenly stopped making this noise as that would mean it's no longer working. I also have a TDI pump and when I installed it (About 1 1/2 years ago) I carried out the 12v mod. I've read some posts recently which advise against the 12v mod and so re wired the pump ecu. This has provided 2 very noticible benefits; 1. Not a big deal, but the whine is quieter as it is running at a lower voltage, when it swithes to 12v you can't hear it anyway as the engine is making more noise. 2. This one is much more critical as it has greatly improved the drivability of the car at low speed, especially when you are in low gears and on/off the throttle the acceleration/deceleration is far less jerky. As mentioned on another post on here somewhere , this is because the fuel system isn't under as much pressure when off boost. I would definitely reccommend that anyone with a 6 sp removes the 12v mod if they are using it. Although in some cases auto owners can benefit from this mod as it supposedly removes a flat spot, but I don't really know much about the in and out of this. As for the ticking sound, if it's the sound I'm thinking of then it's just the pump ecu, this would only be heard on start-up though. $hit, sorry for the long post, been meaning to post up for a couple of weeks about removing the 12v mod.
  18. It'll be fine, as you may know the UK specs have a larger wastegate and are therefore more capable of preventing boost creep. I have a double de-cat and still use a boost controller to get up to 1.15 bar, I did change the fuel pump though as the flow rates deteriorate over time and your is about 10 years old so may be worth getting a new one. Hope this helps
  19. I think £50 is what most places will quote. The place i go to charges this the first time and puts a sticker on under the bonnet, then if you go to him again he charges £35. This is especially useful to me as we have 5 cars in the family which have air con.
  20. Nice spec list, how did you install the ssq to recirculate ? Have you had it dynoed ?
  21. Thanks for that Chief, another little project for me, that means I have to change the suspension, use your speaker mounting guide for the front doors, follow your advice to get rid of the whine from my sub, and wire up my 3rd brake light. I certainly appreciate all the useful advice. I bought the Vvti springs from CW to go with my KYB's which arrived in Manchester Airport's freight terminal yesterday. They're the springs that go with yellow bilsteins and are fractionally lower I believe. I think this is a good compromise as I've read numerous posts that the Eibach springs would be a bit on the harsh side. By the way, the brake pads arrived today, cheers mate, I guess the boxes are for the pads you are using now.
  22. Only the early UK cars had dummy lights as the LED type lights were not legal at that point (1993). But the later cars definitely had working ones, on the way home from the Donnington meet a few months back I was behind 'Slick' in his uk spec (M reg I think) and his was working. Mine is one of the first UK cars registered to Toyota and it had a dummy. I actually made a light using led's from maplins only to find that the wiring inside the tailgate isn't live. I'd love to see this how to guide mentioned by Chiefgroover, can anyone reply with the a link to it. Cheers guys.

    172mph!

Ooops, I must have skim read over that. ( tried looking for a ' I'm Stupid' smiley but couldn't find one )

    172mph!

First of all However, I don't mean to piss on your achivement but you do realise that you were probably doing nowhere near that speed. I've managed an idicated 174 on about 5 occaisions after which it hits the speed limiter which is set to 155 on UK cars as I'm sure you know. The speedo is known to over read quite significantly at such speeds which has been confirmed by numerous people who have sat nav. Although I haven't tried it yet, removing the trac fuse ( or is it the trac relay) will completely de-restrict the car and now that I have rltc fitted I may give it a go. But you definitely know your car is running very healthy.
  25. Yeah mate, that's the NSX and yes, I have HKS on the front of my intercooler. We should organise a mini meet. Sorry to take this thread slightly off track, Koolance, if you manage to get hold of this guy I'm still ok to go and have a look at it for you, I assume you still have my mobile number that I pm'd to you. If not let me know and I'll send it again.
