  1. Just had my car serviced and Decatted by Chris Wilson, first of all many thanks Chris, great Job and very nice hospitality! At the moment i thought i had a stock cat back as it is done with two pipes like on the standard setup,but Chris told me that it certainly isnt standard and that my back box is larger than normal, so thought thats good then, (apart from one pipe does now have a hole in it), anyway when driving home that day i gave it a few bursts of speed to see what the difference was and my boost gauge only went up from .8bar to just under .9bar, so thought must be the cat back still resricting it and didnt really notice much difference in performance, but today when driving i gave it a full burst as overtaking and the car cut out like when hitting speed cut and thought i couldnt be hitting fuel cut with .9bar but when i hit it again i noticed my boost gauge going to 1.2bar!! So must be hitting fuel cut, so how come the next day it has gone from .9 to 1.2 bar and fuel cut and a huge difference in performance (very cool though) , is it because the ECU needs time to adjust to the new additions and when starting the car again it has now set or something else.. Did other peoples jump straight from .8 to 1.2 on the first run?? cheers
  2. yeah, you should have a tool that fits around the hex bit in the centre to undo it, then it should pull out to show the studs, i had TSW imolas on my last car which are similar design to yours when getting to the wheel, and the crap plastic tool i had wasnt very good as the centre bits tighten up and it can be very hard to get the bolt off because the plastic bit cant do the job, then it can also be a job to get the it off once the bolt is off, should be a small gap around it somewhere to get a hook in and pull it off.
  3. the circuit it self seems pretty straight forward, using transistors and some diodes, if you do have trouble with it i can always have a look for you, either post it or however, im into electonics so can tell by testing the components individualely. I found that it was a resistor on my odo that was the problem, they are surfuce mount type but can get pretty much any component. let me know if you have bother. cheers
  4. yeah i sorted it, i only realised when i connected up my apexi rsm metre and the speed part on it was not working, always 0, so put a post up a little while ago about it, and with a bit of help from Pete explaing how it gets it signal i went to investigate and found that the signal going into the odo was ok, but wasnt comming out and found a faulty component on the odo. seems ok now and its nice to have my active spoiler active again, thought it was the unit itself and brought a second hand active spoiler with motor ect, but turned out i didnt need it, so still stuck with it at the moment!!
  5. i got the pumps from America, i have relatives out there who can get me some bits sometimes and they told me about these, so i got 2 while i was talking to them,bit of a buy now think about it later , so just the one i need then i take it with BPU mods... cheers P.S where did you get or getting the water injection from and how much??
  6. tbh i thought that was the way to go, air intake, de cat, then FCD, then uprate the pump and get a FSE as the jspec is poor compared to the U.K when it comes to fueling. people back me up??

I have just purchased 2 of these for £100 brand new in a snap decision so couldnt get advise first, but i have a stock setup Jspec TT which will be decatted shortly and was wondering is there any advantage on running both these together or just use one with this type of upgrade?? I will be buying the FSE very shortly so that will be installed to and a apexi power intake. cheers
  8. i also had this problem, just to see, drive the car again, and when it starts to flash and the warning light comes on, press the auto off button on the active spoiler on the dash and see if it goes out, as this was happening to me and it did go off, which then lead my problem being the speed signal wire was faulty, and i think the reason why it is flashing is that i think it can tell that the active spoiler should be down but it is not because the signal is not getting to the spoiler to tell it to go down? just an idea, could totally be wrong!!

  10. any reason why you cant have an external wastegate with stock turbos, as i saw a external wastegate for sale, and when asking about it, he said you weld the flange on the manifold then stick the external waste gate there, then feed it back into the exhaust system, and block off the internal one. Any ideas??
  11. i belive so, if you have the same ECU as me, then it is, looking at the ecu as if it was still in the car, the right connector block, then the top row of that connector block, then the second wire from the right!! should be pink! i think thats it!

  13. Hi Just want to know the best place to get my hands on the following!! EGT Gauge with all nessasary bits ?? Aquamist water injection system 1s Kit ?? FSE Powerboost valve ?? Prices i should be expecting as well if anyone knows ?
  14. What do the hoses do exactly? As in if one of them was split would it cause a big problem? Just courious.
  15. well thanks for the info, after having a look today and taking the odo apart i found that there was a resistor in the buffer circuit that was not resisting!! changed it and all ok, always usefull being into electronics apexi reading my speed and hopefully now i can see if the speed cut has now gone and i can get past my limiter!! Also didnt notice the overdrive flashing anymore so looks like i have cracked it!!
  16. can also be a pain if the blue rubber bits dont come off with the coil pack preventing you access to the spark plug like 5 out of the 6 did on mine!!! :flame Dev

  19. which cat, 1st or 2nd cat, as my 2nd cat bolts were easy to get off and mine is a 1993 TT.
  20. Could you get the restrictor ring, which will take down the boost to say 1.0bar and stop it from spiking, then get a boost controller and set it to 1.2bar and be safe that way, or just changing the ring a much cheaper option??
  21. right, the o/d flashing starts after a certain distance as never went past 60, and i came on, my active spoiler has a mind of its own, just drove 137 miles and in the last 20 miles it decided to come down, with the warning light on??? no idea whats going on!
  22. thanks for the info very interesting, yes i have a active spoiler but i dont think it works properly as never notice the green light flashing to say its down and also i have noticed that the warning triangle comes on if the spoiler does come down, so it is switched off at the moment by the auto switch on the panel. Do you think we are getting to the problem here??? If it has failed, can it be replaced,? which bit has failed? thanks
