I hope to have around 700000 dollars to use; I will owe UK nothing but will keep money back here and live on interest at first. You would need about 1500 USD month living expenses at most but that includes cost of a maid etc. Rich

that was just an example of what can be picked up I will not know whats around next year until I get there - plan up to one year on the ground if needs be. already have invites to stay with friends who have just moved from Canada - lucky sods:p Rich

Do you like surfing/wildlife? if so get your ticket m8 its AWESOME Rich PS wont be able to get out there until August /September so bear that in mind. Flights via NY run about 500 rtn with Continental out of LGW Beach house can be rented for 500 US/month Rich

My kids will be fine - they have their own lives to lead. My son graduates next June we will take an exploratory tour of this region for up to 1 year to evaluate potential. Residency can be bought but property speculation is allowed on tourist visa in any case. Miami just 2 1/2 hours away. He may well come with us and set up string of internet cafes for example - loads of American Canadian Spanish Tourists around. Made loads of friends there last month - nice peopl. you are all welcome:p:d I will show you the jungle -remember I spent 15 years working in the African Bush! Rich

no Pete they are out of the h/belt they do get earthquakes and sometimes the numerous volcanos go pop but I dont care:p:d:)

yep corner shop -nope the shops are on the main roads - exceptionally well stocked and selling everything you could want food wise many exotic fruits; ciggies wines from all over -this is NOT a third world place. The surf beach close by is rated as 1 of the top 3 in the world. beers from all over are also available though the local Imperial beer is very good. marlin etc can be bought for 5 dollars a kilo Rich:p:p

I know a good bet when I see it I have travelled extensively I also have inside info about development planned in that area I will also look at getting another house in the mountains where prices are just ridiculously cheap Rich:D
