So I decided to buy a new daily driver that is not only faster than my Supra, but also less economical. Good laugh though
-
Thanks bud! I'll have a look, I imagine they are just silver though as the body of them is silver
-
It's finally new suspension time! Managed to grab some used BC Racing coilies and also put on some Whifbitz anti-roll bars at the same time so it's sitting pretty. Need to replace a bent lower arm before we could get a proper geo done, but getting there!
-
Thanks mate! Really happy with them, it's hard to get a good colour combo to go with a silver car
-
Little late to the party but I finally got my wheels sprayed! Went for a Jeep Dragon Bronze colour which I think is absolutely I didn't want dark bronze but equally I didn't want gold so I reckon this strikes a good balance. What do you guys think? I also need to work out what to do centre caps wise as the JR ones are silver so don't really go with the wheels. Maybe plain black ones? Also as usual I vlogged the process!

Another track day vid for anyone interested! This time in the wet making life a little interesting

Wait all that time and another update comes along, like London buses these videos... Testing the new brakes on Anglesey circuit, spoiler alert, they're spot on
-
Long awaited update! I finally have good (front) brakes. Went for the K sports in the end, had to get a new pair of front wheels to make them fit, so currently running 8.5J +23 Offset on the fronts which seems to fit pretty spot on. Vid below!
-
Haha thanks mate!! Got some mixed reviews in the comments, some loved them, some hated them!
-
I have 18" JR15 wheels, currently running 9.5J all round, +40 fronts and +20 rears. The rears scrub a little on heavy cornering/bumps with an arch roll, but definitely liveable. The fronts fit the arches perfectly with no scrubbing, I wouldn't want to go any more aggressive at the front though as I'm pretty much at the limit of being under the arch. The main problem I have is because they are +40 I can only fit J Spec brakes as anything bigger would foul the back face of the wheels Because of this, I'm changing the fronts to 8.5J ET+23 so I can fit K sport brakes underneath, and still hopefully be just underneath the arches. Hope that helps!

Oo interesting, I may very well contact you about that when the time comes! Is it NA non VVTI?
-
Haha same to you mate! Shame I only captured the measly 909whp rather than the 979
-
I do not, have barely looked into it to be quite honest, just know that a good port and polish will help me out power wise! It's been on track a couple of times (Anglesey and Oulton Park), and they're really not up to scratch, it'll definitely see the track plenty more times so brakes are really a priority. I'm thinking HKS Hipermax coilovers to be honest, something that I can really get dialled in. Just a tad pricey!
-
Definitely getting there! Yeah it's a stunning car, not seen a lot from him in a while actually Headwork is for sure on the list, next step for me is brakes and suspension I reckon
-
Thanks Noz! The only one I've seen with more is Brendan Taft's in the US that makes about 280hp, presumably at the wheels as that has head work, equal length custom manifold and runs on E85 Driving video will be next up, don't want to give everything away at once keep the people coming back for more!

Cheers Matt! It seems so much more refined now after the guys did their magic, before it felt a little lumpy in general which I assumed was down to the cams but was likely the bodies out of balance and everything that Mike worked on ecu wise. Genuinely feels like there's more power through the rev range too which is always good Yeah think a custom airbox is going to be the way to go eventually, which seems a shame as it would hide the bodies!

Long awaited update! Took the Supra in to SRD to be fettled by the man, the myth, the legend @mike2jz The lads balanced the throttle bodies, and Mike generally worked his magic to eventually get 245whp, which could make it the most powerful NA Supra in the UK? Low bar I know but still a cool clickbait title nonetheless... It was crazy to know how much power the filter socks actually sap, looks like I do indeed need a new solution for filtration!
-
Cheers Herb! Think the natural next major step would be to get some head work done, a port and polish and valves etc to compliment the cams, then I'd consider further down the line what to do to the bottom end. As I mentioned, I'd absolutely love to try and get 100hp per litre out of it if I can. No particular reason why, but it's just something fun to aim for. Just not sure where I'd find another 40hp from though! And if I did end up going the stroker route I'd have to get 340hp as it'd then be a 3.4ltr...
-
Oh sorry I meant stroker kit increases cc right? Therefore I'd have a higher target to aim for
-
Ha that would be hella cool to be fair. Though I think my dream would be to manage to get 100hp per litre, stroker kit could make that more difficult!
-
Cheers for the kind words all! No mention of the filthy interior...
-
Cheers! Literally can't get enough myself, makes me grin like a cheshire cat everytime I drive it
