  1. Nice looking one. similar in specs to mine which I am also waiting to arrive from japan (even the arrival times are close - mine should be here May 18 ). Mine looks quite similar to your under the bonnet, it has T04S turbo though - a slightly smaller IIRC compared to t04Z... Nice color combo oh and yes, the wing is kinda big but who knows, maybe you'll like it in person congrats on your new ride
  2. I think so too. Even the wing looks good and is a good addition to the whole aero package I think... Not sure if the standard will look better to be honest.
  3. Hmm, I thought these were OEM. oh well... as for the Single turbo, yeah. I was dead set on getting a good supra with good auction grade, but When I saw a single turbo already in it, I just had to have it The only thing I would change in mine, is add a diffuser like yours
  4. You think your rear wing looks ugly and not to taste to the members here? Hah, try looking at mine that is also coming to me fr Japan... It has a veilside rear wing, bomex front bumper and side skirts are tje same as yours (oem?). When I posted the pics, 9 out of 10 said that the wngs gotta go . Yours is very timid in comparison and honestly, I like it Congrats on a wild new supra. Have fun with it. Judging from the pics, the car looks well maintained
  5. wait, how is that emblem attached? is it pinned? I was thinking about taking off badges from mine but if it leaves a hole in it's place, I'd rather not...
  6. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-662-10w-60.aspx just looked through their site and couldn't find opie branded oil. there is millers but will it be worth it over Castrol edge? Castrol Edge 10w-60 is something like 6-7 pounds per litre here, doesn't need shipping AND there will be no waiting for it
  7. I doubt I'll be able to find Opie or millers here, but Castrol I can get my hands on Thanks again for the suggestion
  8. thanks for the suggestion. It already has an oil cooler though as already mentioned in the third post (sorry, I should edit the first post). Any preferences towards the brand? I think I could get either Castrol Edge or Shell Helix Ultra Racing in that "flavor" which one should I go for from these two? Castrol livery does look good on supra, but I don't think that's the smartest thing to base my decision on
  9. Sorry for the confusion. it seems that it does have oil cooler. here is a picture: ^The thing in the red outline reads Oil Cooler. Not sure why I didn't notice it earlier... anyways, the question still remains - which brand and more importantly what grade of oil should I go after? See, the thing is, I owned a low mileage (~100k kilometers) Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution, which had a 3.5 Mivec engine (280 HP) and it also had a big healthy oil cooler from the factory (no wonder, that thing is a beast meant for hot deserts). It came with newly changed 5w-30 (don't know which brand) from japan. During summer, oil pressure level sometimes dropped to about 0.5 bar. I soon changed the oil to Shell Helix Ultra Racing 10W-60 and never had any problems with oil pressure, even when pushed to it's limits (I did that a lot, almost every day ). This is why I'm being cautious with thinner oils, regardless of the presence of oil coolers. That is the reason that I have Motul 300v 15W-50 in Lancer Evolution 7 which has been slightly tuned (about 300WHP). Any thoughts on this?
  10. Hello guys. I really didn't think I would need to create this thread, BUT searching the forums didn't result in any threads specifically for Engine oil recommendations/discussions. (If there is one, and I didn't notice, please accept my apologies). To start it out, my philosophy on engine oil is something like this: 1 - You don't cheap out when it comes to engine oil and price should not really be a concern (within reasonable limits); 2 - You change the oil in every 5000km (sometimes even less), especially if the engine has been modified for higher power output; 3 - Manufacturers recommended grade is great and all, but I'm pretty sure the manufacturer didn't really consider that a car made for a certain market would be sold in other countries, with different kinds of climates. Therefore, I don't really trust the "hot index" of recommended oils. I've seen suggestions on 10w-30 for Supras. Heck, some newer Toyotas come with 0w-20 oils. wouldn't it be reasonable to expect that 0w-20 will be working uncomfortably close to it's limits in climates where temperature is close to 40-45 Celsius? Same thing goes for supra, IMO 10w-30 is too thin for hot climates. maybe it is ok for northern Japan or English climates but not here. I wouldn't dare put anything less then 40 "hot index" in my evo, heck I don't put anything less even in my bone stock Suzuki swift sport, which, mind you, is a 1.6 NA with measly 125hp Regardless, I'd still like some advice on engine oil for single turbo supra (probably 500-600hp range), because you people know more than me when it comes to Supras and I value practical knowledge and experience more than pure theory : Things to consider before giving recommendations: 1) It is not stock. it is a single turbo (HKS t04S). from what I could understand from a Japanese auction paper, some modifications have been made to engine too, bigger injectors and some bits have been added. Not sure if aftermarket oil cooler is present though... (edit: There indeed is an oil cooler installed on the car) 2) It will run in hot climate. soon the temperature here will reach 35+ Celsius, close to 40-45. 3) There are four "good" oil brands from which I can choose from - Castrol, Shell, Mobil 1 and Motul. We don't have Royal Purple here I was thinking something along the lines of Castrol Edge 10W-60 or Maybe Motul 300V 5W-40 (not sure about the cold index). thanks in advance for the help
  11. funny indeed. well, winding roads should be amazing, but let's just hope the t04s single turbo gives a smooth power curve or the winding roads could become too much fun
  12. yeah, it is kinda small and irrelevant, so... Wine was first created here and then spread through Europe, so there's that Oh, and there's lot's of good twisty and winding roads, mountain passes and stuff like that to test out my car and that's also a plus
  13. Nah, not American am from Republic of Georgia (not the U.S. state) between Europe and Asia. Thanks for the suggestion on the wing. Will try to find one when the car gets to me...
  14. thanks for the suggestion. as already mentioned, will look around after it comes home haha, will do just that. besides, I've used the bigass wing on my Evo7 lot's of times - makes for an excellent place for putting food and stuff on it thanks. I can see that veilside isn't that appreciated around here, though I kinda like the looks of it on some other cars, like this one for example: http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~mshosier/MSHPerf/Supra%20Rear.JPG looks stunning on this car imo
  15. Hm, the trd one loiks pretty good. Will look around to see if someone is selling it near me ( though I really doubt because this will be like third or fourth supra in the whole country
  16. come on guys, it's not that ugly, I think... Well, if it in fact is ugly, what alternatives do I have? don't really like the look of wingless Supras TBH
  17. thanks yeah, those definitely are OZ racing Pegasus and for those sizes (18inch) they should be around 800-1000 euros each. not sure about mine though - as they have some kind of discoloration. haha, I'll wait till it comes here and see how it looks in real life. if it is as ridiculous as the pics suggest, then I'll have to think about that one question though - do you guys have any ideas what the steering wheel brand may be?
  18. hey guys. I'm new to this forum but will most likely stick around and maybe ask some questions (promise I'll use the search function first ) I Bought a 1995 Supra RZ from japan and it is now on a ship sailing to me. Should be here in mid-may or a bit later. As it seems the previous owner did some tuning to it, lot's of high quality aftermarket parts (HKS t04S Turbo kit, other HKS and Trust/greddy stuff on there). The whole car will cost me around 16-17K$ (including shipping, customs, registration and all that) which is about 12000-ish pounds for you English folk. (I guess I got a pretty good deal for a car with only 74000km on odometer and high marks for auction exams). Here are some pics: it's a bit dirty under the hood but I plan to really take care of this beauty so it's not a big problem This will be my first good Toyota - had a "pleasure" of briefly owning a 2009 corolla with that silly robotic manual transmission. that thing was a wonder of efficiency and boredom anyways, here it is. my dream ride. any thoughts?
