  1. Hello mate, Where abouts do you live? I work in East Croydon during the week so could easily meet you after work one night, infact that goes for the wheels and prop if anyone from down south is interested
  2. Hi Philip, No worries, I'm working away at the minute but I'll post some pics up on Saturday as soon as I get home mate Cheers
  3. No idea if you'd be able to squeeze them in with the back seats down mate, maybe with abit of luck and rearranging skills. Whens your sup due at jm?
  4. Hey guys.. I have for sale my 17" oem alloys, really didn't want to part with them but needs must! They've been off the car a while now but they are in mint condition, no marks at all. As for tyres I'm not too sure on the condition will have to double check at the weekend but pretty sure there will be plenty of tread left! Looking for £350 collected from Durham. I also have an A02A diff with approx 89000km on that came off the car when doing the auto/manual conversion. collection from Durham looking for £100 Last but not least TT auto prop shaft for small case diff which also came off the car same time as the above diff, collection from Durham again, £50 Sorry no pics at the moment but I'll get some up at the weekend. If anyone is interested just give me a shout! Cheers Ryan
  5. I'm after a used clutch for a 6 speed, mine has totally worn and I just want a cheap solution for the time being just to get it driving and back on the road! Any help will be greatly appreciated!
  6. Haha yeah I was going to say the same he is pretty adamant! I don't think I'll be running a bov once the conversion is done I could never get sick of that turbo flutter! Thanks for educating me tonight
  7. Compressor stall isn't good for the turbine blades is it? Or is that just a myth... No problem thanks mate
  8. Ahh it all makes sense now Is it just me or do the Borg Warner turbos make that distinctive flutter noisr when letting off the throttle. You have any videos of your Garrett tubbys mate can't seem to find much on YouTube
  9. Yeah I see what you're saying, so really to get the best spool/ power combo you need one that is more or less maxed out at the desired figures. This is where everything turns swahili. I know ball bearing turbos are better than journal bearing turbos for better response, but some of the Garretts are dual ball bearing so how much better is a dual ball bearing turbo? And then water/air cooled I'm guessing water cooled is more effective? Am I right in saying Borg Warner are all journal bearing turbos? Sorry to hijack your for sale thread mate pm me instead if you like
  10. Mine will be going in for a single turbo conversion in the summer, Im pulling my hair out as to which turbo to go for. I'm after 700-750hp but I don't want to get a smaller turbo that will be working max chat to make this power I'd rather have something that can comfortably make them figures but with the quickest spool possible! How does the gtx3582 compare to boostlab 66mm or borg Warner s300sx range or precision 6266?
  11. Just a quick update, in the last few month there has been abit of work carried out... We realised that someone had cut down the stock wheel studs and done a gash job if it and we couldn't get the correct torque on some the nuts so we replaced the studs on all 4 corners with some longer aftermarket ones. Next up all four calipers came to pieces and replaced all the o rings and seals in them, removing the shims before we reinstalled the calipers plus adding some HEL braided hoses and some endless pads. Full front active spoiler set up was fitted with the manual override switch, fuel cut defender was wired in, BCBR coilovers are on and all four arches were rolled for better clearance, no problems at all even with the car sitting quite low on the coilovers. As it stands I have the following waiting to go on: Mvp twin fan conversion Hks air filter and new intake pipes Air filter heat shied Fuel lab fuel pressure regulator and titan fuel pressure gauge Still need to wire up speedo and sort out the engine light for the park/neutral safety switch from the 6 speed conversion. The stock clutch has started to slip too so I'll be keeping an eye out for a good deal in the for sale section! As it stands the car is running very rich and making 384bhp on the dyno. I'm going to fit the bov recirc kit and see if that helps the fuelling a little bit hopefully get abit more power back. Future mods this year are: Uprated cutch and flywheel Wideband o2 sensor and afr gauge Drilled and grooved discs Front and rear crank seals New oil pump 4" fmic 264 cams Hks cam gears and fine tune belt Aux pulleys Carbon cooling plate Shine auto carbon rear diffuser Oil cooler kit And hopefully get rid of the crap jap headunit and speakers and get some decent stuff in there! Anyway thanks for looking and I apologise for the lack of photos but here are just a couple...
  12. Thanks for pointing that out tricky Ricky I never noticed that! Canny cheap that, you had it fitted and working mate? Does any one know where I can get a harness that would work with the f-con and who would be able to map it? Once again cheers for all the help and info guys there are alot of good people on here
  13. Ah cool, I know you say it's for vvti but is that the piggy back unit or is there something else I'll need to go with it to work with the vvti cam? Fancy pm'ing me a price mate?
  14. Yeah mate exactly. I know whifbitz sell the aem fic 6 which works with vvti and vtec etc so it may be worth using that for now until i go single. I'll stick the wideband afr gauge in and fit the recirc kit on the bov and go from there. Clutch has started slipping now too I need a win on the lottery!
  15. You're right, 380 isnt a bad figure I suppose, just comparing it to the other local bpu supras I think I just had my hopes up for it creeping into the 400's with it being a lowish mileage vvti too. But like I said I'm not one for chasing numbers aslong as it's normal and the car is running safe then I'm a happy bunny. Fmic and cams are on the list once the afr gauge is installed and the recirc kit is on so that should bump it up a tad. Cheers for all the help guys much appreciated
  16. Ah cool cheers mate I'll have a read through it. I know of people using the hks f-con v-pro gold and the hks valcon for the vvti cam but I'm sure these are discontinued now and pretty rare. I am wanting to go single in future and was looking into the syvecs but this won't be for a year or two, just wanted it to be running right on full bpu first to get used to the car before I went single
  17. Cheers tricky Ricky, so you reckon thats about normal then? Trouble is you're not meant to push it much past 1.2 bar with the ceramic turbos on j-specs. Mines more or less topped out at 1.2 bar now but only makes 380 hp. Any idea what options I have for a piggy back ecu for vvti to safely sort the fuelling out?
  18. That's great thanks Greg gives me a good idea as to what I'm aiming for, appreciate it mate
  19. Thanks for that Pete. Well here are the graphs anyway I'm not too clued up so let me know what you guys think
  20. No worries guys thanks for the help. I'll get the recirc kit and afr fitted for now. What's the healthy numbers I'm looking for on the afr gauge?
  21. Cheers for all the comments really appreciate it. I'll get the dyno graph up tonight. Thanks for the link sebas. The bov is atmospheric at the moment however I do have the recirculation kit in the house on standby so I'll get that fitted. You'll all know alot more than me about this so forgive me if this is stupid but, I was under the impression that the maf sensor with an atmospheric bov only ran rich because once the throttle was closed the ecu pumps a load of fuel through but the bov has chucked all the air out. So on a dyno with WOT how could the maf/atmospheric bov combo cause the engine to run rich? Thanks for the info Chris, I'll get the afr gauge sooner rather than later. If it is just down to the fact that it's overfuelling with it being a vvti then will leaning out the fuel with the fpr be a safe move? I'll be getting a standalone ecu eventually ready for the single turbo conversion but this won't be for a while yet.
  22. Had the supra on the dyno at evotune and it made 384bhp at the crank. I'm not sure how the fuelling or the afr is shown on a typical dyno graph but where the hp and tq curves were, the fuelling curve was almost off the chart at the bottom. I'll post up a pic of the graph asap. This was explained as the car running very rich and felt no where near as powerful as the other local bpu supras that have been on at dyno days. I was advised to fit a fuel pressure regulator to lean out the mixture which should bring the fuelling curve on the graph closer to the hp and tq curve increasing overall power. It's a low mileage vvti j-spec engine full bpu: Double decat, Walbro 255, iridium plugs, aftermarket air filter, hks bov, greddy boost controller, good condition stock intercooler and fcd. Not one for chasing numbers but I'm aware healthy bpu supras make 400hp and sometimes over. I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator waiting to be fitted but is there anything else I could do with checking as I don't want to be covering up a potential problem by just fitting a fpr. Thanks in advance
