Thanks I’ll give him a PM tonight! More than happy to stay TT auto especially at the moment so thanks as that’s a better price that I was imagining ! Will drop them an email, thanks for the recommendation, yeah credit rating to the best of my knowledge is fine (never not paid off each month in full since I turned 18 on all cards ect) Just want to try and work out my options both with the car Itself and financially too Thanks for your help

Just a little post as have a few questions? 1st, I was a member for 3 years but was never able to get in contact with anyone about having a lifetime membership (hence my membership lapsing) who do I need to contact in regard to this? Unfortunately since my membership lapsed the Supra is dead for lack of a better term. Headgasket/possible crack and am now after finding myself in stable employment at a “proper” job am hoping to either fix or upgrade in the term of a proper TT conversion. Does anyone happen to know the going rate for a TT lump and gearbox and the associated other bits? Another weird request But is anyone aware of anyone who could do this kind of work on finance? (If not considering getting a loan to get this up and running) - this is primarily due to the fact I’m now in a position to afford it but am also desperate to have it back on the road as having it unmoved for the past year every day on the drive has been rather soul destroying and would love it back for shows next year! (Instead of spending a year saving) Plus I’m 22 next month and want to enjoy it before I have to be a “proper adult” and focus on a mortgage ect Just a little pic, this was my daily and current money pit as I know some of you will appreciate it Any help or advice is greatly appreciated

I'll risk it, worst case it can go on the supra if it's ever back on the road, paypal?

It's a gen 6 GT4

Sorry to be a pain, but what's the measurement of the delete? Wondering if it would fit my celica as "look" like it's the same size hole next to each other Thanks in advance
-
He's a bit of a knob so wouldn't have helped himself when he did get pulled hahaha But just something for Alfie to bear in mind as he is very local to me. For the most part round here you can get away with an awful lot
-
From what I can gather it's not the first time that particular police officer has stopped him for it and that excuse can only be worn so thin unfortunately
-
Just be warned my mate got fined for having it there in a golf at Rayleigh weir recently
-
Well that video is exactly what my mechanic was using and it turned green so guess that's it then sadly. I had considered it and think if something had caused it that was probably it. The weird thing though is that since then its literally been faultless and was my daily for 3/4 months in the summer and never an issue. Then it sat, came out 2 days in a row and on the second day was sat there talking with the engine ticking over and steam starts coming out the expansion bottle
-
Honestly That car hasn't been thrashed at all, it is far too sentimental for that, which is why this has come as a shock, but over the past 5 years it has sat for extended periods of time on the drive, 6 months plus at a time but can't see how that could be a contributing factor really? I'd understand it if it was revved high from cold but it doesn't go above 2.5K until it's well up to temperature and my mums driven it no more than twice in the past year. Yeah I'd agree that when I got it home it sounds more like a hose which is a minor relief. He checked it by mixing coolant I assume with a catalyst which resulted in the test turning green? I put forward the do it myself idea (I have a friend who works as a mechanic plus a couple of mates who could help, alongside the fact we have a garage with enough space to go it. But was informed that my mum didn't like the idea and as such the idea was scrapped. (More than happy to change radiator and pipes myself as done my celica ones it's just fitting it round work (50+ hours per week and 12 hour days lol)
-
Thanks for the advice guys, plan is to get under it and have a look for a split pipe as hope it is that. Current issue is me and my mum deciding on what the best move forward is as I'm reluctant to spend money on the engine if long term there that money could go towards a TT lump. I would rather have the car sat for a bit TBH. Thanks guys appreciate the help

Not sure I'm getting the reference here, possibly I'm not a mechanic and actually asked for advice on a forum that's helps people, im 21, spent my money this year rebuilding the front end of my celica so sorry if the fact I have never worked on an engine and reached out to people that have makes me a spanner spastic in your book.
-
Yeah he's who typically does all my work on my Celica so trust his opinion. I'm at work so not easy to trawl but does anyone know off the top of their head if the NA rad is a lot different that a TT, only thinking could replace the rad and if that doesn't fix it then reassess the options again? Or am I being thick haha
-
Cheers thank you, if we go down that route I'll remember that
-
And yes unfortunately I'm pretty certain he knows what he's doing
-
Yeah it was bubbling and boiling the water earlier, the steam when I got home seemed to be coming from the bottom of the engine but couldn't locate it
-
Steam came out the bonnet and the gauge came off the chart, assumed thermostat, got that fixed today and turns out the radiator was full of shit, he done some test thing and came back exhaust gas was in the coolant. Following that managed to get it home, pulled onto the drive and 2 seconds later the bonnet erupted in steam from the engine although the water temp was reading normal
-
I'm currently at work so get a full low down soon on my break. I suspected thermostat so got that changed today, the mechanic is the one who rang me and said the radiator is scrap, not flowing correctly, full of rusty water and he started to explain why it was headgasket but had to go back to work and yeah he mentioned the head could be scrap as a result! Out of interest what's the going rate for a TT lump? As that's my long term goal but can't see me convincing the mother yet
-
Yeah it's fraudulent so I'll pass but thank you anyways
-
Hi, Effectively the supra overheated before Christmas and it was looking like thermostat but I had no money until this week, got the thermostat done and it's got all the signs of head gasket failure and the rad needs replacing (planned on doing this anyway) I'm at a bit of an impasse on what to do, me and my mum share the car (was hers since I was 7) and we both agree we want to keep the matching numbers engine. Now the dilemma is from what I can tell the head gasket is going to be an expensive job to get done and I'm expected to be paying at least half (she seems to think it's my fault that the thermostat radiator and head issues) Now long term I plan to go TT and see this as a more viable option instead of sinking money into the NA lump. Except my mum can't decide if she likes the idea or not. Is there any options Iv missed or any potential problems or things I'm not considering (I'm sure there is) so appreciate any advice Thanks
-
They'd be enough but it's all personal preference, Iv got 4" in mine and what they lack in bass I made up with a sub
-
If you decide on 4" speakers I have a set of the TB development adapters sat at home unused if you wanted them off me
-
I'll definitely come if there's another club stand, this years went really well
