think you are right, only way is up. i got the TSB ones for£1 a share and halifax free anyway

i had shares in Lloyd's TSB. thought about selling when they hit £10 a share but i didn't and they plummeted. then i got Halifax shares and didn't sell when they hit £10 either. now worth 80p. i haven't got the hang of this shares lark

thankyou all guys, was indeed the ram. i took all 3 gig out then just used one and worked first time with the new hard drive. still does it with the old hard drive tho which is a pity but its working again thats the main thing. thanks again

only had one drive. no discs in. i cant get past the loading screen it starts to load then goes to the error screen. thanks for all the help guys

i cant get safe mode.it started doing it about a week ago but reboot sorted it. now it wont. as soon as you get the moving bar that windows is loading i get the blue error screen. i tried loading windows from the disc, doesnt help. its xp by the way.

my pc packed up, i thought it was the hard drive so i fitted a new one it still wont work. i get a blue screen when windows starts with the error message PFN_LIST_CORRUPT **STOP:0X0000004C (0X0000008F,0X0005DC46,0X0005DCC6,0X00000000) anyone of you brainy people help? please remember i am a technical numpty
