  1. it's just the diff thats gone. thats what i'm being sold by the garage. I spoke to Leon who iv'e ordered my new LSD from and he recommended a one from an Auto which would match the ratio better than a TT. Leon said that it comes as a whole unit that you replace. nobodys mentioned casings or anything like that. It's just the diff thats gone on it. Paul
  2. Iv'e had offers from different people about LSDs but i'm not sure which one to go for, Auto or TT manual for my N/A manual. Will an Auto one have better radio's? Can anyone help me before i buy one?
  3. don't think mines the bushes. A garage has confirmed today that the diff is f****d. SHIT!!!!!!!
  4. yeah Fensport sell the seperate bushes, both sides £109
  5. Cheers for all your help Chris, i know what you mean. You can't diagnose a problem over the internet! I'm taking it to a local garage on thursday so i'll let you all know the outcome! I'd drop it off to you but it's undrivable mate and your miles away from me in Newcastle. Cheers, Paul
  6. also do you have to replace front and rear bushes or can you just upgrade rears???
  7. sorry guys to keep asking the same question but could it make a judder/jumping from the back? And make a metal noise as if somethings caught? Paul
  8. might sound like a stupid question but i don't know if my rear bushes are gone. Will the car make a noise if there knackered? Or will the car move funny? Just trying to pinpoint a problem. Cheers, Paul
  9. I have just had the new rear shocks fitted so wouldn't that be checking the bolts? Everything looked fine under the car. What noise would it make if the bushes were gone? The car sqeeks when you get out the car and shake the back end. Paul
  10. well it ain't the shocks! Changed them on sunday, and same noise.................... Paul
  11. Hi Kev, sorry to hear your still having problems. Seems like we all are at the moment, this suspension/rear knock thing is really starting to *** me off now like! Iv'e been without the car now for nearly 2 weeks!!!!!!! Driving around in an Astra Coupe is soooo boring! Anyway i'm getting Simon to check the problem out on tuesday so hopefully it'll be sorted soon. Hope yours gets sorted soon mate, then we'll have to have a meetup Paul
  12. this is doing my head in!!! Never had problems before with suspension etc. My cars getting it's timing belt changed by an ex Toyota mechanic on tuesday and he said he'd have a look and see if he knows what it could be. He said it will be the suspension of some sort! Gaz, the lad who's having a look at my car is Simon, is that the lad you know? Seems like a canny bloke. Paul
  13. Hello, can anyone help. Iv'e recently changed my shocks and thought everything would be fine until i drove it today! Same noise as before i changed my shocks!!!!! Allthough the shocks were knackered......... When i pull away theres a metal clanking noise which only happens when turning most of the time, or pulling away straight! The cars undrivable in my eyes like! Iv'e checked the springs and there fine, and on the mounting cups ok. Anything else i can try? I thought Transmission but it's not all the time. When travelling the car seems as if it's on ice, very unstable. But it's the banging noise thats very strange. Any ideas please????? Paul
  14. spoke to someone in a 'mondeo' and there shocks went and it was the same symptoms as mine. I should have the shocks arriving today, along with my timing belt
  15. the fronts have been changed i think as there white and the rears are black and have toyota on them. If it's not the dampers then what could it be? Theres loads of leaking around the top and bottom of them.
  16. checked the suspension today, it's the rear shocks. They are totally gone! You can see the rubbers have come away and you can see the shaft of the damper!!! It looks really bad, it's totally came away!!!
  17. spoke to my dad about this and he reckons that when the shockers are gone, cars judder nround corners etc. I'll put new shockers in and see what happens. Can't believe nobodys had the same problem as me, theres loads of people on this board. Cheers Paul
  18. no but there 17s, and the same size as stock ones. I'm sure it's the shockers. Could i leave the standard ones on the front and buy 2 KYB ones for the rear??? Paul
  19. yep, tried that mate. There spot on. When you turn a corner theres a cracking noise from the rear, aswell as a knocking noise. Reckon it's just the dampers?? It's only from the rear the sound.
  20. Anyone help me out My cars rear suspension has been knocking for the past month and while i was driving lastnight going sensibly round a bend it started to feel different! It judders and jerks about while going round a corner, or change gear. Anyone know what this is? Is it my suspension finally going and i need to buy new dampers? Or is it worse?? Theres a banging noise aswell as the judders and shakes when going round corners which sounds like the wheels gonna fall off. Iv'e checked the bolts and there fine! When you get out of the car and shake the back end you can hear it creaking and continues to do so for a few seconds when you stop shaking. This is starting to worry me as the cars undrivable!!! HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. plus it's only started happening for a month or so. Toyota said i needed to be booked in for them to just look at it. The one near me is crap!!! £240 to change timing belt aswell!!!!!!! having a laugh or what? Is there a way of checking to see if it's shocks? will they be leaking??
  22. not sure mate, they were on when i bought them. There not standard wheels though. Fronts are 235/35/17 and rears are 255/40/17
  23. yeah havn't checked that mate, cheers
  24. mines only got 17s on though. Think it could be the suspension like. Or anti roll bar????
  25. i wish it was that! It's definetly under the car mate but cheers. Thought someone on here would know
