  1. Still sounds like they havent got a fucking clue lol.......btw your car looks epic. Those wheels on a black car with the TRD spoiler just looks class!
  2. Does anyone have one of those 6 speed short shifter kits lying around? I know people don't really like them for one reason or another and I know alot of people on here have removed them in favour of the OE shifter. Dont ask me why I want one...... I just do ok.....lol
  3. That looks to be an aftermarket short shifter kit. Would you say the gear change is short (and quite notchy iirc)?
  4. Yes I know it should not be running wasted spark but it was incase this feature had been incorrectly or accidentally activated somehow was all I was saying. Just trying to think of things that would cause the ignitor to burn like that
  5. Is the Syvecs trying to run wasted spark through the stock ignitor? The stock supra ignitor will burn out trying to run wasted spark. Is that particular feature activated?
  6. Fair enough, as said, genuinely interested! Looks like a great car!
  7. Absolutely no offence meant, but what was the idea behind going for the DCT conversion if you were only achieving >600 whp? I know the cost of this conversion is astronomical so it just leaves me wondering why the expense for such power goals, instead of say sticking with stock auto (up to the point where it is on the limit allbeit) or going for a built auto such as an SRD or Boostlogic type setup which could both handle that type of power/torque?
  8. Same thing happened to me with my UK spec and a mates as well. Will look fine when you open it up but just redo them all.
  9. It will be dry solder joints just. Just needs opened up and the solder joints refreshed. If its a UK spec and that instrument cluster isnt working your TRC won't be working properly either. You don't need a new one though. Im surprised Rob at DAW didnt know that.
  10. Looks a bit like its had the odd haircut here and there. But why would you chop 5000km off it (give or take), if you were going to do it at all?
  11. Looks like a coilover dampning adjustment key. Should fit into the top of the coilover. Right for harder and left for softer usually

    Rear Quarter Panels

Lol i was speaking metaphorically, i just meant its a nominal value compared to the payout amount #sheepish

    Rear Quarter Panels

Its usually a couple of hundred quid, it literally is scrap value by weight

    Rear Quarter Panels

As long as you can show them examples of the economic cost to replace with a vehicle of similar spec and mileage they usually will accommodate you. As said above, pull together as many current examples of similar vehicles for sale to support your point of the current market value of replacement you should be ok. A friend of mine got offered 3,500 for his manual chaser a few years back initially until he provided support and walked away with over £9k so it is worth doing the homework.

    Rear Quarter Panels

Also if you get it fixed yourself, depending on where you take it, a skilled repairer MAY be able to pin and pull that out rather than put a quarter panel into it which again will be alot cheaper

    Rear Quarter Panels

Well they will usually write off if the repair value is uneconomical to repair, i.e represents more than I think its 70% of the value of the car which if you have it valued at £4,500 is £3,150 which is probably about right to put a quarter panel in a car and do all the work etc. Its going to be shown as a category c car repaired anyway so why would you not just let them write it off, buy it back for scrap and get it fixed yourself anyway. As a non insurance repair you will probably get it done a bit cheaper. It makes little odds if you have already opted to go through insurance anyway. You will benefit more financially if you just let them write it off and buy it back for scrap value
  17. Lol im not trying to be a dick but really if you think about it the limits are extremely liberal. Most cars with a cat are well well below it and therefore it stands to reason that a car without one should still have no issue passing it. That and I myself have put about 10 cars through with no cats and all have passed emissions and I know of 2 other supras in NI, one with serious mods and one BPU level both passed without a cat. The visual inspection is aomething else entirely but from an emissions POV it should pass no issue
  18. That lean mode seems like snake oil to me like. Truth is a healthy engine should pass emissions with no catalytic converter no problem. If it needs a "lean mode " to pass emissions i would think its masking another issue tbh. Just my thoughts
  19. If the studs arent done I wouldnt bother. If it aint broke dont fix it. Nuts are a good call though. Shouldnt be much from toyota themselves if you do it via part number
  20. Shit mate that is rough. Hope things look up for you
  21. The fact that you initially described it as lean/mot mode means you know thats not the case.......lean running causes excess heat and det and warpage.......that was a silly move wasnt it?
