  3. I messaged the seller 15 minutes after the advert went live, saying that I would buy for it's asking price + a holding deposit. Right after this I tried calling but could not get through to his phone (at this time he was probably speaking to the lucky guy who got the car). I tried calling around 5 minutes later, and he answered. He told me that someone else has arranged to view the car, but that he would call me of it fell through. He seemed like a nice, genuine guy to be honest, and he mentioned that he had priced it "aggressively". I was thinking at the time, mate, you have priced this way too low. To be honest, I'm totally gutted that I missed out on this. I acknowledge that I hestitated calling him as soon as I had seen the advert on my phone. You win some, you lose some! First world problems and all that. :-) I'm now more sure than ever that a Supra will need to be my next car (I think they look stunning in white, with minimal exterior mods). I think I would instantly regret buying a Lancer or Impreza now (which I've been checking for too). I do realise that I'll probably have to wait a while before I find a Supra which is right for me (months probably). Will have to stick with my boring ass Leon Cupra for now. :-)
  4. No worries, mate. Just to be clear my budget is 13K but that doesn't mean I'll pay over the odds, and if I see one I like for 10-11K for example, I'll keep the extra 2-3K for any initial maintenance / mods.
  5. It's "sparse", not "sparce". I'm not seeing it as a "red-flag", but I can see from your replies in this thread that you don't like me much for some reason.
  6. Thanks for the links. Well, basically, I've got an opportunity to spend around 13K (for a new car) so want the best Supra I can get for the money. If I can't find a Supra I like, I'll consider something else. That one for 12.7K does interest me but it seems a bit sparse on details.
  7. Hello, I'm looking for an Toyota Supra TT or Single. I'm based in Tayside but I'm willing to travel for the right car. Would prefer low mileage, facelift + standard and / or subtle exterior mods. Would prefer BPU or Single. Something that has been very well kept after. Don't mind if it is Manual or Automatic. Clean and undersealed, with pictures of before and after, is a bonus. Not a deal breaker as I can get this done myself. Not keen on bodykits, like the stock look but do like aftermarket wheels. Would prefer to buy off someone on here, so I can have a better idea of the cars history etc. Cheers.
  8. Thanks mate. Some sound advice! Yeah, 6K is what I'm aiming for initially. May be difficult for my missus to agree with this (she would rather I spend something like 3-4K on another car) but I will do my best to convince her that the Supra, long term, is the correct choice. Cheers. Yeah, might consider going to a Glasgow meet, might take the missus to try and convince her! The tuning potential of the Supra seems unreal - thats what really appeals to me. I want a car I can continually improve over time. I can imagine.
  9. Hello, I don't own a Supra but would love to one day, and possibly as my next car. I check these forums daily and it seems like a great community. A few months ago I had my car stolen and it was written off (someone came into my house at night and stole my keys, took the car, then wrecked it early in the morning). A Seat Leon Cupra R running around 280bhp. May not be fast by Supra standards but it was plenty quick for me. My wife hated the Cupra due to it being too loud and low, so I made a deal that I we should get two cars, one family, and one for me (a toy basically). We used the insurance money to buy the family car and now I'm saving up for my new car. My budget this year will be up to 6K (if I'm lucky) but next year maybe 8K (missus won't allow me spending more than this I reckon). I've narrowed down my next car to one of the following: (you can probably tell that I'm obsessed with turbo's ) Toyota Supra Twin Turbo Auto Astra GTE MK2 16V (preferably Turbo'd) Focus RS MK1 Classic Mini with an engine conversion (16V, Turbo etc) Golf Mk2 Gti 1.8T or similar Question is, should I wait to save up for a decent Supra TT Auto or just go for the Astra, Mini or Golf (and get a Supra a few years down the line)? I know it may sound like a daft question on this forum but I'm desperate to get my own car, and getting a decent Supra will take longer to save up for. Also, would the Supra cost more to run than the other cars I've mentioned? Anyways, hello, and apologies for the long post!
