  2. stu - next time, pls try and walk up to someone and just stick your hand out and say hello. pls do not feel put off mate. truly gutted this happened to you. hope to catch you at some point soon.
  3. stu - i am really sorry things worked out the way it did. pls believe me when i say it was not at all intentional. i think you'll find the people on here are a friendly bunch indeed. pls do try and attend the next meet (wherever/whenever it is convenient) and i'm sure if you went up to anyone, they would make you feel part of the gang immediately. once again, my apologies. roy p.s. the best bet is to wander upto someone getting in/out of their car ...
  4. no worries mate - alls fair in love, war and knowledge !!
  5. CW - went on a bit of a drive (london meet) to gauge the problem today. after start up, the unevenness has now become only the odd minor case and for the most part, it seems fine. it used to burble unevenly for a fair bit but that's gone for the most part now. on the way back from the meet, upon start-up, it fired up fine but i noticed the cold idle (where the revs normally stay high then slowly drop when the engine heats up) is lasting for only a very short duration whereas before the revs gradually lessened over a few minutes. i wonder if this is a sign of anything maybe ? thank you in advance for any input.
  6. first off - i'm sure all attendees will join me in saying a big thank you to john (Foodfreak) for organizing this and getting the room booked. top job mate and the place turned out quite nice.. matt/sham/terry - pity you guys couldn't make it, think you would have enjoyed it. next time .. ? good to see some of the old faithfuls - JB, Geeza, Faye, Chris n Keith. 10. ben - are you STILL around here bothering people ? go away .. LOL neil - i hope it's a temporary thing. stuck the car cover on n hope it dries out ... osso - i am not certain but maybe yours could be a slightly different problem as i don't think your bonnet has vents ? i think neil maybe right as to the water getting in problem ? chris - i shall try n do that tomorrow morning too see if the problem still persists. is it dangerous to continue driving if it is still the case ? thank you. matt - feel for you bud, hopes it gets sorted ... pic of the engine bay ..

  12. hi guys - just a quick question. i have a vented bonnet and today while it raining, i started the car which fired up fine but the idle was suddenly dying off and the engine felt sluggish. after booting it a bit (interesting in the wet!), the problem 'seemed' to go away. i have started before n driven in the (far heavier) rain without any kind of hesitation but why is it suddenly sluggish and idling so roughly ? it drove fine yesterday - perfect tickover but today it suddenly felt sooo lethargic ... any ideas ? have attached piccy of bonnet and the nearest vent is right over the blitz intake..
  13. gordon - i'll just bet you'd wished you hadn't just said that ... lol !
  14. craig - it wouldn't be a bad idea to give matt harwood a shout. he is the resident alarm guru (amongst a few other things!) ... his number is 01622 683044.
  15. i think it all comes down to what you weanna do with the car ie is it a daily driver, an odd track-day car etc etc i have a j-spec but with the UK brake upgrade (1st thing i did!) n it did a world of difference. it is also my daily driver and with some of the idiots that drive in london, i wanted to make sure i would stop repeatedly and quickly. i have decided to do several track days next year so am actually going to get the proj Mu slotted discs with endless pads in the spring. if you don't intend on any track use, then i would think that CW's pads or maybe ferodos with the UK discs should be fine.

  17. JB - food freak (john) did all the bookings so it might be worth you checking with him to get an idea ? vids aren't a bad idea if the weather turns crap ?
  18. sarcasm ill becomes you young lady !! LOL ... it's just that it has been alternately wet then sunny then overcast ... so was wondering if anyone did any checking
  19. anybody know what the weather forecast people are saying about the likely weather on the day ?
