  1. its going in for a service tomorrow to see if that sorts out the miss fire.
  2. no i mean it stays around the 1100 rpm range, even when up to temp
  3. i bled the system a last weekend so might be water in the plugs, will that cause it to idle at 1100 rpm? its able to pull off by itself which i definitely knows not supposed to happen lol
  4. hi the last couple of days i have picked up a misfire, im not sure why its doing it but the revs hold high when the car is warm aswell, the fuel smells sweet so im not sure whether the choke is disconnecting properly, causing it to over fuel, after 2500rpm the misfire goes but comes back when the rpm drops back below. anyone had this issue before?
  5. seen the car driving past a ford garage at some lights. near holbury
  6. ok cool, i forgot the trd cap is for a different engine lol i checked the water today and it hasn't gone down, but the circulation isn't very good i ran the car up to temp with the cap on and tbh it doesn't feel like theirs any pressure building in the system, Ive already booked it in for a new water pump and radiator cap so it will be sorted soon. the reason for the new water pump is purely cus the cam belt was done before i brought the car and im unsure whether the pump was changed or not so id rather be safe then sorry.
  7. ok il get a new rad cap to be on the safe side cheers, is it best to get a standard one rather then a trd or anything like that?
  8. ye got sum ethylene glycol based coolant, red stuff, right ive put the thermostat in taken off the top coolant hoses and bled it from there ive now got heat i think it was just a big air lock sadly it wasn't the simple heater flap. . cheers guys appreciate the help. im gonna keep an eye on the water level now and make sure there's no leaks. and hopefully jobs a good en. .
  9. right im gonna go take a look :-) ive gotta refit the thermostat aswell so if i dont reply straight away i will get back to you cheers
  10. not losing water the expantion tank has water in it topped up to the max after changing the thermostat, io did have to top it up when i brought the car tho but i put that down to the car being stood up for a while.
  11. After buying my supra a couple weeks ago it was all good until it randomly started to blow cold air. when i tried bleeding the system i got hot air again, but once i drove the car about 2 or 3 miles it went cooler until it was cold again, i then changed the thermostat, jacked up the front of the car and bled it again and still no hot air. i did notice when i changed the thermostat the flow of anti freeze wasnt very good, so i removed it just to get me home. the car doesnt seem to be over heating at all and the temp gauge stays at the running temp and has not gone over half way. i have a feeling the pipes running into the heater matrix have corroded and blocked the system but both pipes going into the bulk head are warm when up to temp. the pipes just feel brittle when u squeeze them has anyone had this issue? any help would be great thanks
  12. did you manage to get it fitted? im just curious cus want one aswell lol
  13. budget wouldnt insure it with the wheels which is a shit, but im waiting on competition insurance to call me back, so far 1500 is the cheapest
  14. its a 93 with 100,000 miles on the clock all still in kph, it drives very smooth lots of history and old m.o.ts she had the cambelt done not long ago including fan belt aswell 12 months m.o.t and taxed til april shes asking 2600 for it tires are new aswell, everything seems great tbh no nasty knocks, rattles or smoke, so i was pleased, the owner did say she was a member of this forum and she got all the do's and donts' list from here, i.e what oils to use etc. i think all it needs is a clean and the the window motor and the indicators sorting but other then that there was no nasty suprises.
  15. well after phoning graham and Sykes it was halved so looking at 1500 at the mo so the price is heading the right way, il give the above companies ago cheers guys :-)
  16. a while ago i had a claim against me which has meant Ive had to start again. but as im an awkward F**ker Ive started looking for insurance on a supra and the cheapest so far is £3160 on an import 93 sz with the mods declared. i think im lucky to have even got that as cheap as i did tbf, im still looking around at the moment, but im determined to get a supra because ive wanted one since i was young and my mates have had skylines Subaru's etc and a 1.2 Clio just doesn't cut it any more lol the car will be for mainly weekends and when my aunt and uncle are off from work so mileage a year should be about 5000 a year. does anyone know anyone insurance companies for high risk young drivers? the claim wasn't due to me driving like a knob by the way it was due to the hand brake failing on my drive :-/ i was in bed which was the real wounder when i had to explain i crashed my car in my sleep ha ha if you can help i would greatly appreciate it thanks im pretty sure the car Ive put a deposit down on used to be apart of this club reg is CAZ8984 (private plate) the plates will be changed back to the originals once brought thanks in advance
  17. hi there i am new to the forum and could do with some advise I am looking at an sz manual supra lift back, and the owner has told me the driver window does not go up n down and the indicators sometimes stick on. is this a common problem and is it easy to fix, she has a new motor for the window but has not fitted it yet, im going to view it this Sunday, is there anything else to look for while looking around the car? any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance
