  1. Thanks guys Funny enough mate i was at Dyno Torque a few weeks ago when you came in to drop of your 280 for welding. I'd never seen you before so obviously didn't know it was you at the time, Craig told me after you left lol Nice project you have there. yeah mate, we need to get some updated pictures too thanks Phil, you'll need about 4 x 8mm high temperature end caps and some small jubilee clips, to block off unused water lines. half a metre of 16mm coolant hose, can get 1 metre from halfords for £4 And i need somewhere to mount my maf but that's only if you're vvti and staying stock ecu for a little while. Oh and a UK spec 1st decat pipe.
  2. I was planning on doing this so i hope so! Already bought everything needed! i dont see why not tbh.
  3. That's fantastic Sam thank you very much mate. Just ordered one. No worries mate, tried Google several times and came up with nothing. Hopefully the thing Sam linked to works.
  4. Meany Do you know where I can find the vvti fault codes Chris?
  5. same wiring mate, just swap out the ecu haha thanks I got a great deal from a member on here on the lights. Paid £550 delivered for them which i was really happy with as i think they are something like £640 new now. thanks mate i'm happy with how it turned out too, looks great and you get so much more room in the engine bay, Supras should have been like this from the factory lol And yeah i'm certain the fuelling will be fine, as you say you ran more boost than me and tracked it, and my AFR's are rich which is overly safe if anything
  6. Thanks mate that's what i was going for, nice quick spool and drive ability. Thanks guys, haven't decided on the ecu yet, still on the stock ecu for the time being. Ecu plus mapping is gonna cost me like 2.5k at least and i have other things that i need this money to go towards instead of my car right now. Car is running and being fuelled just fine though, i have a wideband o2 sensor installed and it's running rich like the stock ecu always does but it's very safe like that. I also changed the wastegate spring to run only 12psi to make sure the power and fuel would be fine. Not sure my info will be all that helpful to you until i get it mapped mate but power delivery is like TTC but it spools earlier and gives a better kick in it's current form. Sound is pretty fantastic, it's a bit louder off boost and when the external gate hits it's really loud but a great screaming kinda sound
  7. But there's more! Ordered a few more bits that i'd been meaning to change for a while and got a good deal on both so thought why not. Brand new Toyota facelift lights... Made such a beautiful difference, my old lights were in really good nick for a used set but the difference is just fantastic. I find myself keep turning around and staring at her whilst i walk away now New set of BC coilovers...which are actually a down grade from Aragostas but the roads around me are absolute shite and i run 19" wheels that i wasn't willing to compromise on so the suspension unfortunately had to go. They do feel a little softer already although i haven't fully tested them yet, and there's sill 12 points of adjustment left to the soft side so i'm happy So this is how she's currently sitting.... Those lights I've also bought 2 cans of VHT wrinkle black that i'm going to paint mt cam covers and inlet manifold with, so i ordered all new gaskets for both and also new gaskets and o-rings for the water elbow which i'm soon to remove and get the nipples welded up. Whilst i was working on the engine i noticed a few bolts that looked pretty aged too so i decided to replace as many as i can with a variety of stainless ones that look much nicer and won't corrode. I actually have about double that amount now lol And i think that's about it for now folks, no doubt I've missed some stuff but i can catch you up at a later date when i realise what it is Let me know what you think, Mike.
  8. Right then, this thread is a little like the Carlsberg ads, i don't update very often but when i do..... Not sure where to start but here goes...so i ordered a PHR single turbo kit on black Friday last year, with a 6266 precision fitted with a 0.81 a/r exhaust housing. MVP had a great deal on and even with polished compressor that i asked for it only came in a shade over £2k brand new so i couldn't say no Unfortunately it took ages to come, like 2 months. But to be fair i probably wouldn't have fitted it around Xmas anyway so it was okay. It was actually quite the shock when it turned up because i had no notification it was posted so it just rolled up one day lookin' all sexy..... Didn't take me long to start tinkering with bits on it so i bought VHT paint and sprayed the downpipe black. I also bought a TB developments UK spec 1st decat (to match up to the US turbo kit), i was going to go for the whifbitz one as it was a bit cheaper but i liked the idea of having the flexi section in the pipe, and to be fair the quality of it was excellent and the fitment was spot on so thanks Tim. I decided to heat wrap both of these to try and keep under bonnet temps as low as possible, first time i'd done it but it was surprisingly simple...apart from my lap looking like i'd been stroking a cat for 90 mins. After that it was pretty much time to get stuck in! So here's the before.... During... Bloody weather man said it was going to be cold but clear....snowed 3 times that day, fuckin cheers Brand new Whifbitz front mount going in... I'd heard friends and people on the forum say that removing the stock twins is a bitch but Jesus Christ! They were an absolute ball ache, smashed both my hands to pieces, pissing blood all over the place and on top of that it was fucking snowing!! Never the less i finally got the job done, although it took longer than i expected it's supposed to be a full kit PHR supply but it isn't really. They don't tell you that you need some things to cap some water lines and a piece of hose to recirculate a water line through to the cabin. So it was off the road for a few days whilst i was waiting for parts to turn up. I also had to create a flange for my MAF sensor to sit in the intake pipe as the car would start but not run without it. Luckily i know Craig at DynoTorque and he let me use his machines to create a flange for the maf and then he welded to the intake for me for little money. Top bloke. When all that was finally done.... Don't she look beautiful Oh i also sprayed the cam covers VHT black (and made a small change to it for the eagle eyed) and fitted a turbo blanket.
  9. Okay thank you guys, it is unfortunate yeah i just wanted to do the right thing asi know it's not a great situation. Thanks.
  10. Thank you mate I actually have a really big update to post ITT soon, when i pull my finger out
  11. Guys what do i do in this situation, i just want to be as fair as possible to the people that messaged me. So someone messaged in the thread first but didn't say he'd definitely take them at the time, he asked a couple questions and then said he'd definitely have them about 15 mins after Alex said he'd definitely take them ITT. I just want to be as fair as possible to these guys so who should they go to?
  12. I have for sale a lovely set of Aragosta coilovers that i had fully refurbished about 18 months ago. Aragosta are one of the top names in suspension and up there with companies like Nitron, Ohlins etc. I've taken a pic of the receipt from AST suspension who sorted these shocks out for me, they had the following done on the 06/05/2015: Shock service change oil teflon strip new o-rings new shims new gas plugs clean check the operation and re-gas replacement shafts and adjustment assembly's in 2 shocks. Which cost £475. Shortly after this and before they were fitted for the first time i had the springs sent away and shot blasted and then powder coated in their stock colour (purple) at a cost of around £80. So i very much doubt you'll find a used set of these in better condition The price is £800 SOLD!! delivered to your door, obviously cheaper if you collect. I am based in Hall Green, Birmingham. Thanks.
  13. I also just reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery and removing efi fuse no.1 for 5 mins (overkill i know) I checked the codes once more without even starting the car and none of them went away.
  14. Just checked them and have a whole host of error codes 12: No "NE" or "G1" and "G2 signal to ECM for 2 sec. or more after cranking. 41: Throttle Position Sensor Signal 43: Starter Signal I also got 44, 45, 49 and 51 but none of those seem to be codes according to this: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?35920-How-To-Check-the-diagnostics-codes thread. Are VVTI codes the same as non-VVTI?
  15. Tried the throttle reset this morning and nothing happened. Tried a second time to be sure and heard no beep and no whirring noise Any other choices?
  16. Thanks mate, I'll try in the morning and report back.
  17. How weird, who told you to do that and why would that work?
  18. Do vvti have iacv? I seems to remember people with idle problems cleaning them?
  19. Hey Jason, thanks for the reply, it doesn't smoke at all when warm, sometimes smokes a bit until it is, white smoke. I already have the 12v mod. I'm just trying re-setting the ecu as we speak but I've noticed the idle hunts a bit, and the afr goes from between 13.5 to 16.5 on idle. Usually sitting somewhere in the middle at 15. What's it supposed to be?
  20. Hi chaps, Is there any way to increase the idle speed of a vvti? I'm running stock ecu and maf sensor. And the idle is around 550rpm when warm, which makes my dash lights go a little low and some vibrations creep in. If I feather the throttle and hold it at 650rpm (where it should be) all these problems go away.
  21. I'm sure it's a lovely engine but I didn't realise they were getting the same tax as v160s now.
  22. Don't want to derail this chaps thread too much but I've done a lot mate Or what feels like a lot, i'll update my thread soon.
  23. Yeah so I've heard haven't got a base map no, just stock ecu. My wideband is saying afr is fine on full boost though. It's actually a bit rich so definitely safe for the time being. We'll find out when I have mine mapped! Although it won't be a true like for like as I have vvti but close enough.
  24. 46mm wastegate yeah I think. 12psi spring but I'm seeing 1bar. Not had it mapped yet so can't confirm numbers.
