  1. Ok so far I have E-Manage & AEM. Whose Ryan then and what company is he with from the traders section? I need a quote for the AEM ECU to see what the difference is compared to the E-Manage.
  2. Hi guys, Just thought I'd put a thread up on here about what routes I can take as I've been on some traders sites such as Whifbitz and the ECU's are well over £1k. I was thinking of buying a PFC but I can't find anyone who sells it for a Supra. My budget for an aftermarket mappable ECU is £600 max. What options do I have? I'll only be using it for mapping a BPU JDM 6sp MKIV with hybrids. Don't think it'll be used for anything else. I understand I'll need bigger injectors to get the most out of my setup and am already looking into that before anyone mentions it.
  3. Just to let you know, 2 of the part numbers you have on your list are incorrect. See corrections below. Ordered the right parts from Toyota so another short wait for them to arrive in stock. 17278-46010 GASKET, TURBO TO EXHAUST MANIFOLD. qty:2 £16.43 15471-46010 GASKET, TURBO OIL INLET. qty:2 £2.07 15472-16010 GASKET, TURBO OIL OUTLER, NO.1. qty:1 £3.39 17279-46010 GASKET, TURBINE OULET ELBOW (NO.1). qty:1 £22.35 17287-46020 GASKET, TURBINE OULET ELBOW (NO.2). qty:1 £11.09 25634-46010 GASKET (FOR EXHAUST MANIFOLD PLATE). qty:2 £3.48 16347-42020 GASKET , WATER BY-PASS. qty:2 £1.91 17281-46010 GASKET, EXHAUST GAS CONTROL VALVE. qty:2 £9.01 17284-46010 GASKET, EXHAUST GAS CONTROL VALVE, NO.2. qty:1 £4.58 17378-46010 GASKET, AIR TUBE, NO.3. qty:2 £1.78
  4. Just to update this thread, Here are pics of the work I've had done by Turbo Force. The turbos look like they're brand new. The wastegate casing crack is pretty small at just over an inch.
  5. My mate ran his 200SX & his Silvia S15 without a BOV and put lots of mileage on them without any issues at all. Lots of guys on SXOC do this too and call it the pigeon mod.
  6. Turbo guy said one of the tubbys has a small crack near the wastegate but nothing to worry about. Said the turbo will still last for years and performance will not be affected.
  7. Just got off the phone to Toyota who priced it all up to a total of just under £125 inc VAT so not too bad.
  8. Wow thanks loads Tony, I'll get onto the Toyota dealer tomorrow and get the gaskets ordered.
  9. Just received this from Toyota which might help you guys. I couldn't work out which gaskets I need still. My water and oil hard pipes are in good condition so not bothering to change these out. Also leaving the manifold to head gasket as this seems fine too. The mechanic mentioned the oil and water pipe gaskets so I've just sent these diagrams to him so he can point out which ones I need to buy. EDIT: These pics are for a JDM Supra 6sp TT
  10. The price I got quoted was for the gaskets and the hard pipes. The whole thing itself is costing me so much as turbos are £823, labour is £500, then these gaskets are gonna bump the total price close to £1500!
  11. To me it's a fair bit of cash saved. I know many others local to me who have used this company successfully for recon turbo work. They also offer the same 12 month warranty as CR so I'd be crazy not to take advantage of their ace prices. Once the cars back on the road, I'll be getting it dyno'd at under a bar of boost and will post up the results along with the boost graphs etc.
  12. Gasket kit costs an absolute fortune on these cars. I got given a price of £250 and that wasn't even from a Toyota dealer.
  13. I didn't know a pair of hybrids could make 464bhp. That's really good. What boost was it running at?
  14. Right the mechanic has now removed both turbos. Didn't say any of thye housings were cracked at all which is good news. Decided not to use CR Turbos as found a local turbo company called Turbo Force closer to me that worked out £130 cheaper than CR. Just waiting for them to return them to my mechanic and it'll all be put together again
  15. Think I'm going to give it a miss guys purely because I don't have any of the tools needed or even a car jack at all Will get new gaskets ordered and get a quote from the fitter. Will also get hold of the oil & water turbo pipes. All the IC pipes also need coming off due to them being full of excess oil and the IC core will need to be cleaned out properly which means the whole front bumper needs coming off.
  16. Thanks. I'm very tempted to tackle the job myself and save a load of cash. Just heard a lot of the bolts are extremely hard to get off and will break easily. Is there a turbo removal guide anywhere on here? I can't seem to find one. Thanks for the offer SaqTRD, I might just take you up on it
  17. Thanks mate. I'll look into getting hold of braided oil & water feeds then. Already have a shit load of silicone hose so that's covered. Do you know anyone on here that sells these feeds? Will probably get an oil & filter change done at the same time.
  18. Hi guys, As per my previous thread, the oil seals have failed on my first turbo so I'm in the process of getting both of my tubbys rebuilt by CR Turbos to hybrids with steel wheels (after many happy customers on here & other forums). I've heard turbo removal is a pretty long job & diffcult depending on how seized the nuts and bolts are (I've been spraying them each day with WD40 though up to the day they get removed) so I'm going to pay a well known company in my region to remove them and refit the hybrids when they return. What I need to know is: Will the tubby gaskets need replacing? If they do, which ones? Is £300 enough to get a mechanic to remove the turbos and replace with hybrids once they return? If not, what's a realistic price? Can the oil and water lines be re-used?
  19. How easy is it to check the PCV? What is the procedure? Think I'll get it compression tested & check the PCV valve then & take it from there. There's no smoke at all on idle or when accelerating. just a bit when the car is switched on.
  20. Right I know it's not a boost leak, as where the oil pattern is, is because the vent side of my Sard R2D2 DV faces. So when it vents, it's venting the oil that's already in my IC pipework. You get me?
  21. Thanks very much for the advice mate. I'll check the pipe for leaks.
  22. Where is the PCV valve located and why do you think it could be related to that being stuck?
  23. It's not a bit down on power but it's none existant until 5k revs. Boost leak in first picture? I can't see any boost leaks on it afaik. I've checked & the FMIC was recently fitted so the pipes are all connected ok. I've checked all the clips. So all that oil on the right side of the first pic is not from the turbo? I checked the oil level and it seemed fine. Will check it again soon. The last time the pipework was removed was a month ago when the FMIC was fitted. The turbo closest to the bulkhead seems dry as it should be.
  24. My car has been really down on power recently and has been feeling very laggy until 5k so I decided to take a look under the bonnet to find out if everything is ok. What I found was lots of oil inside the IC DV take off & inside my R2D2 DV itself. Also some oil in the stock airbox and on the stock recently replaced filter. Also there was a patch of oil around the turbo closest to the front of the car. Also there's more oil inside the IC pipes. Can someone confirm if this is the oil seal on the first turbo that's gone? Am I right in saying that the 1st turbo needs replacing and the FMIC needs a clean along with all the pipes?
