  1. You can stay with previous generation and just like that racing where you actually go very fast on a straight line with engines having a high rev limit and chucking out a lot of power or you can like new generation where it is all about reducing the lap time and going fast round a corner not as fast as it used to be on a straight. The Gssss make a big difference these days as the more faster you go round the corer the more Gsssss the driver has to cope. The good old wheel to wheel racing is always fun to watch. Prob later the drivers will be replaced with robots/electronic units anywhy or every driver should have some metal implants for their neck n back bone.
  2. .... Hope I am going faster than Vettel!
  3. Oh blast you found that out already ... Time to find another thread on the forum ...
  4. To be honest I agree with you on that everybody has their opinion and I cannot say they are wrong .... NOT Just kidding. I am sorry Tony ... to call you wrong there. You have your opinion and I agree to disagree with yours. I am fine with that. But I am sure we both will agree that Hamilton off track behaviour and personality is terrible! But also we both agree that Hamilton is a great driver with big balls to take on those overtakes and he does the best overtakes in F1. We can watch F1 these days because of his overtakes. Infact most of the time BBC coverage is on him as there is always some action going on with him on the track.
  5. Strange you find my points as arrogant not Tony's as you like to agree with him. I did not question anybody's skills so how am I arrogant. I did not call a world champion not good for F1 as a racer. I did not say that a world champion is only a world champion because he been picked up by Ron Dennis. Infact all the time I am showing facts for every argument I made unlike other here who come here and make some statement because they are biased.
  6. Dont know man how you concluded from those 2 lines that Jackie Stewart mean Hamilton is at fault in those incidents ON the track. Questionable doesnot mean he is at fault rather it means they are borderline and either of the drivers could be blamed for the incident. Or atleast this is what I understand. Coming to the second point you highlighted, he is talking about off the track behaviour aswell. Because he called the other drivers stupid and not matured for F1 and that is him placing himself in a negative position w.r.t other drivers and same is his position when he called Stewards as biased.
  7. Honestly dude you are WRONG and and so are your opinions about Lewis ... You are talking about a world champion in here. One of the best available drivers in the world with a great race craft. You know Christian Honer wants Lewis to drive for Red Bull after Mark Webber. McLaren wants him to stay with them for ever and you think he is still driving like in GP2 and not suited for Formula1. For that matter I dont think driving in GP2 is easier either. An overtake is an overtake anywhere. If an overtake is wrong in GP2 it is wrong in F1. Dont think you listened to Martin Brundle's comments in China about how good is Lewis passing skills and how he wants to show his son the video of his overtakes so that he can excel in lower categories.
  8. I totally agree with Jackie Stewart. His remarks are towards hamiltons behaviour off the track complaining on Stewards and on other driver which I too find quite upsetting. His comments are not about the on the track incidents involving Hamilton.
  9. Also Anthony Davidson (previous F1 driver) doesnt agree with the critics in here on Hamilton's overtake on Massa. He feels that Massa turned in quite a bit early than usual to take the corner (may be he has not seen Hamilton in his mirrors or she intentionally shut the door on Hamilton). You guys might have seen Webber clipping Massa's front wing. just before the incident. This is because he turned in early into the corner. If you want to listen to his views check this link from 15mins onwards: http://www.spokenword.org/program/1526796
  10. I though he was picked into F1 because he bet the lot of them in lower GPs. This includes, the likes of Rosberg, Vettel, Sutil, Kubica, Kovv, Nelson PK, Glock, Di Grassi etc. Hmmm ... what about beating the double world champion Alonso in his first rookie year. Never know that Ron Dennis did a coin toss to pick him. Thanks for letting us know btw ;-) Most of you know about this ... But check him coming from the back of the field to grab the win in Turkey Race 2 in 23 laps - GP2 Series ( I think it is just brilliant) - this is before coming to F1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbjRFd205qo
  11. TBH manual gearboxes will give way to automated ones. Looking at the way things are going with the current technology with in cars, in a few years time (not a long time from now) I dont think manufaturers will even use a manual transmission in any of their cars. Every thing will get automated.
  12. Some of you maynot appreciate today's F1 due to not having Wheel to Wheel racing. It has become more of an engineering sport than drivers racing. But ... the fastest time is monaco is not set in 70or 80 or 90. The fastest time around Monaco is 1:13.5. This is only achievable due to the current aerodynamics. I personally would like to see the lap times going down every year and the average speed round the track going up.
  13. Agree 100% on that! But I know why F1 wants to go green. Not because to create a green F1 but to get more manufacturers into the game competing and paying more to Bernie for racing.
  14. Well the new aero setup allows slipstreaming a bit more than in 70s. So dont expect drivers in 70s to weave and break the tow.
  15. You may be right about Hamilton but out of the current existing bunch if you remove Hamilton ... you will end up with nothing at all to watch in F1. See how the first 3 cars just kept following each other for almost 40 laps changing positions only in the pits. Even Webber never made any moves until he got some new tyres in the last 6 laps due to Red flag. Only action was going on around Shumi and around Hamilton.
  16. Yeah my point being ... Webber never got a penalty in Singapore 2010 then why should Hamilton in Monaco 2011 Just showing that FIA are being inconsistent with their penalties. They could have treated it as a racing incident at the hairpin but decided to give a drive through for Hamilton. This is poor stewarding.
  17. The point is he is not blocking Petrov ... unlike Shumi on Barrichello. If the driver behind takes a line to overtake and then the driver ahead takes the same line later then it is blocking. If the driver ahead takes a line (may be a weaving line) it is not blocking as the other driver behind can go the other way unlike Petrov who followed Hamilton as he wanted to get the full use of the slipstream.
  18. Same as in Massa turning early at the hairpin blocking Hamilton - Check my post 49. Anthony Davidson agrees with this too.
  19. This is an example ... if Shumi starts weaving, Barrichello will be ahead of him straight away as he is already in the tow/slip steam. This is not the same above.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo971KDXsbI
  20. I hope you know what is defending from an overtake and what is no allowing the next driver to use the tow/slip stream or breaking the tow. If Petrov is faster then why dont he just get on with overtaking and sticking to his racing line but rather follow Hamilton all the way to the right then to the left and then to the right. Ok Hamilton weaved too much than usual and he put his hand up and apologised and rules changed after that about weaving. FIA has to give penalties only if the driver actions are dangerous like if you are the slow driver at that moment in the race and you go straight onto another drivers racing line to block him from an overtake. Looks like what you want is a boring race with fast parade laps with no action ... but then it wont be a race. You may aswell give all the point after the qualifying on saturday. That will stop any racing incidents/crashes/penalties and we can have a free sunday to ourself too ;-)
  21. In Fuji 2008, Hamilton started from Pole and outbraked himself. No damage done to anybody ... but he got a drive through penalty ... http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/fuji_start_2008.jpg
  22. May be because he does the overtakes and comes out too aggressive. Tries to take advantage of every opportunity. But he doesnt want to say these when the press asked him, so he said "May be because I am Black ... As ALI G says" as a joke ...
  23. Listen to another driver's review of the incidents (Anthony Davidson) .... BBC Podcast on FiveLive ... Listen from 15 mins onwards reg Hamilton's incident. http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/fivelive/cff1/cff1_20110529-1912a.mp3
