  1. Hardly anybody is checking the wanted section. Most of the time 0 viewers. So thought may be post it in here.
  2. Anybody selling cheap stock wheels or wheels that clears big brake with possibly 8j at the fornts and 8j/9j at the rears?? Just after a cheap set 17" or 18". Condition of tyres do not matter. Give me a shout if anybody have these available. Thank you
  3. What is this garage in livingston? I will be suprised if I never came across this name!
  4. Yeah tell me about it! Just lost a feking fortune for my last service £450. Took it to a jap specialist (or so it says on the website). The mechanic said the car is in good nic and need nothing and finished servicing in 3 hours. The high cost is due to the high cost of engine oil and he also tightened the hand brake and changed a tail light What the heck! I could not believe it! Robing bas***ds
  5. bump I like this thread and the pics are awesome. Are there any plans for more trips like this in the near future?? Add me to the list!!
  6. I am on search for a good mechanic with experience working on Supras, in or around Edinburgh. I am unable to find any one with some decent experience on these Toyota models! I am looking to get the following done immediately a I already got all the required parts: 1) Replace radiator + Change coolant/antifreeze 2) Replace all the bushes. Bought all the bushes i.e., lower arm, upper arm and steering rack. 3) Replace Open Diff to Supra Diff 4) Lower the car by 1.5”, fix suspension and geometry 5) Fuel lines are rusty, so needs fixing (change the ends) Also have to get the car serviced before winter. Any recommendations folks?
  7. Ok Chris, the mechanic came around today to swap the discs over but we found that the internal vanes are curved inwards towards the rears as in the above pic from APRacing, so no need to swap as they are fitted right in the first place This is a big relief for me! Thanks for all you help folks
  8. Chris, sorry I dont have stock rims, I am looking for a set that can clear the big brake and also allows me to put winter tyres with 205s on the front and 225s or 235s on the rear. I suppose 8Js all round should be ok to get these tyres on. At the moment my current alloys are 8.5J on the front and 9.5J on the rear. I am running falken 452s, 235s on the front and 265s on the rear.
  9. Looks like sanding the part and repainting it would be the cheapest and best option. Chris, Could you post a quick reply with your views on this post mate? http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=2527804#post2527804 Thanks
  10. Hi Folks, When I upgraded to the big brakes my mechanic said that the lower control arm are quite rusted and would be safer to replace them. Any idea where I can get a decent set of these? I already managed to get the required bushes, so all I am looking for is a set of front lower control arms? Thank you
  11. Hi, I am looking for a set of front lower control arms in decent condition as mine is quite rusted and replacing this would be safer. Let me know if any of you have a set of these. Thanks
  12. I totally agree with you steve. But incase I get the right rim structure that is good to clear the big brakes what is the lowest width I can go for the alloys? The reason I ask this is because I am planning to have a set of winter tyres (along with a set of whinter wheels). So the lower the width the better it is to drive in winter (wet/Cold/Snow) conditions. Thanks
  13. Hey Wez, thanks for that mate, this is one of the answers I am after but I am also after the width of the alloys. I see everybody generally using atleast 8.5J on the fronts and atleast 9.5J on the rears to clear UK big brake. So I would like to know what is the lowest you can go on this figure so that the alloys still clear the big brake and still can be driven safely. Thanks
  14. Guys, What is the smallest width alloys (both fronts and rears) that clear the UK big brake and still can be driven safely? Thanks
  15. Ok guys thanks for all your time. Got it! If the internal vanes are pillared (not curved) then I got the whole thing wrong and I need to swap the discs. But if the internal wanes are curved then my fitment is right. Cheers
  16. Ooops no idea, thought all vented discs come with curved vanes Dont they??
  17. Oh man it only gets ever more confusing. Some say I got it right and others contradict this. Also I heard that the curved grooves are different from the straight grooves. The curved groves go against the direction of the internal vanes. So the final question comes down to this, does the internal vanes (not the curved grooves) on the outside edge of a right side rotor should point upwards or downwards w.r.t the centre? The internal vanes seems to be in opposite direction in these two pics above
  18. Anybody looking for this upgrade, the total cost I incurred is Every thing including postage for the following: goodridge brake lines, dust covers, 4 X rear brake shoes, front and rear shim kit, Front and rear anti rattle kit, Front and rear fitting kit, new front and rear calipers, Bremtec front drilled and grooved dics, EBD dimpled and grooved rear discs, EBC yellow stuff race brake pads front and rear all in all costed me £1440 + £80 (labour) to put these on.
  19. Hmm.. The surcharge is £50 for each front and £25 for the each rear caliper.
  20. They order budweg calipers from denmark and if they ran out of stock they can always put ina new order. Or atleast this what I heard from them. I got all my calipers from them and they are all brand new not even a single scratch or chip or rust.
  21. I thought so aswell but when I received them they are brand new!
  22. Andrew try brakes international - great website (catalogue), great customer service - Speak to Mark or Jason @ 01706 666999 http://www.brakeparts.co.uk/ I got very good brake parts for a relatively cheaper price compared to others.
  23. After doing some research around I found the calipers and discs to be way cheaper from brakes international. Try brakes international - great website (catalogue), great customer service - Speak to Mark or Jason @ 01706 666999 and also quote my name (Raj). They now know me very well ;-) http://www.brakeparts.co.uk/ When you check the catalogue, check for the associated parts and there you can find the drilled and grooved ones. I am sure these guys will not let you down! I would definitely buy again from them. Bought new front calipers from them for £100 + returing my old ones.
  24. Thanks for clarifying. What about the rear discs? What direction should the grooves on the rear disc point?
