  1. Is it normal operation of the sequential system to see a small drop in boost after kickdown during WOT whilst the change from 1st turbo to both is made? (approx 0.1-0.2 bar) Hope that makes sense. Ta Rich
  2. Just checked, mine seems OK. HTH Rich
  3. Cheers Nic Another point: Anyone also know if the springs are the same. For example AFAIK the UK was sold with Yellow billies as an option but are the springs the same for the normal black shocks as well as the yellow billies? Ta Rich
  4. That sounds really odd. AFAIK this was not poss? Unless someone has changed them?
  5. Mine did have before I painted them. (1995) HTH Rich
  6. Grove lodge is where the Norwich union site is just off (large roundabout) it was about 4ish. Rich
  7. Was it you Wayne? Car looked like it had just been cleaned, gleaming in the sunlight. Rich.
  8. I'm going in a month or two on a stag, good to know it should be a blast.
  9. Nissan Micra 1.0L Toyota Yaris 1.3CDX Cheap on fuel.
  10. I used to teach kickboxing in my 20's as a black belt instructor and obviously would recommend this to anyone interested in learning a martial art. However I would never put down a different style/type of martial art and say which one is the so called "best". There is'nt one, it just depends what you want to gain from it. If you do decide on kickboxing it generally falls into two catagories the american type which is fairly basic and revovles around kicking and punching or various other oriental styes which can incorporate both these plus choke holds, ground fighting, Chi kung, etc. Good luck and don't forget that all it is, is practice. HTH Rich
  11. Bought mine for £550 about 1.5yrs ago. Rich
  12. Cripes, what have I started My situation is that I just want my car back to how it was before the stock no.2 blew and for as cheap as possible. If I can gain a few more BHP in the process for as little money as poss then great. The cost of changing the turbos is dear whoever I choose to use, I need to make sure this job is done only once as I have given up my career and am a student again (at 32), so funds are an issue. I have had my car 4 years and cherish it and can never forsee selling it. I drive it about 4 times a month as I have a daily shitter for getting from A-B. Mods are: Blitz - Nur spec Full CW decat CW SMIC Colder NGK plugs HKS boost gauge Apexi panel filter I am very grateful for everybodies input and the challenging debates that have arisen but I am now more confused than ever I am not an expert and do not understand ALL the implications invloved with turbo charging so I started this thread in order for me to understand peoples opinions on what I should do. I guess there is no difinitive answer unless I bought brand new stock Turbos from Mr T? (HOW MUCH ) Rich
  13. I have found myself in the unfortunate situation whereby my 2nd turbo is not making boost and is dead. With this in mind I am most likely going down the route of Stage 3 hybrids (Turbo Dynamics) using my UK's. PITA as the car has "only" 85k but has been v.well looked after since I have owned it. Due to a strict budget I will not be going down the single route and I also want to retain the stock look. If anyone who has experience of "hybrids" (stage 3 or otherwise) I would be most grateful for ANY thoughts you may care to share in my hour of need. Thank you very much Rich
  14. Looked very clean, I could'nt toot back as I was testing my car for boost and the horn was not active at the time.
  15. Thanks James thats good to hear especially as I am immersing myself in finding out any information about "stage 3 hybrids".
  16. Err, fixed as in just making the "gay siren" active again, which is particularily gay as I have removed one of the three sirens. I pressed it at 80mph and it sounds like a small electric buzzer
  17. Went to visit Paul K (slowdog) at his unit today and was very impressed. Good to also meet some other owners too. Expensive day though as Paul diagnosed that my T2 is deffo dead Looks like stage 3 hybrids maybe the answer, anyone else have these? Anyone used / heard of Turbo Dynamics? The route up from West Sussex is dead easy, motorway all the way and the weather was splendid Even got my horn fixed Rich
  18. Cheers Paul Do you have the postcode for the unit? Ta Rich
  19. Right, I have checked all the pipes and all seem OK the only thing I found is that one of jubliee clips around the hose from the throttle body was ever so slighty loose, I don't suppose this could be it? (Hose is perfectly in place). Any other ideas? I really don't want the expense of buying new turbos! Ta Rich
  20. Great replies! Thanks Paul for advice, I may well drop in to see Paul. Bobbeh - no death wine, have checked pipes, but theres so damn many, I must admit I have fitted a nice shiny I/C pipe set, the one from the throttle body and one that goes to the turbo pipework, so may have disturbed/knocked something but I have checked for anything obvious, I think that is just coincidence? Any more ideas? Thanks again Rich
  21. Hi Chaps Please can you help diagnose this prob, it sounds to me as if my Turbo no.2 may be on its way out, however the symptoms are: Only boosts to 0.5/6 bar at WOT After kickdown and as no.2 comes into play it, spluttered/coughed and let out a small cloud of black smoke, revs seemed to rise but lack of power. Turbo no.1 seems OK UK spec auto with full de-cat and blitz Nur spec (85k miles) Once I saw the smoke I drove slowly home, no smoke on way back but I did'nt use no.2 I would be grateful of any feedback. Many thanks Rich
