  1. Yeah absolutely, I'm going to put it up this weekend.
  2. Cheers lads. I was thinking that myself and I've actually had a few people message me over it already. I suppose the difficulty is finding something thats not rusty or one thats not ruined with poor quality parts. I think i'll put it up on pistonheads tonight with more details. Hopefully someone will get as much enjoyment out of it as I have.
  3. Hey lads, I'm looking for some help here. Basically something has caught my eye recently and I'm trying to get an idea if I can buy it if I sell the Supra and GTR. I'm trying to establish a rough price for what I would get for the Supra. Bearing in mind, I'm in Southern Ireland and as some of you know, we have to pay VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax) to register a car on irish plates and it would probaly cost atleast €6k to register a car similar to mine, but, if I get a sterling price I can work it from that and add the vrt price. So spec, 1994 Sz factory manual 2 owners (including myself) 139k kms Made 323bhp @0.9 bar 2JZGTE vvti conversion Genuine BBS LM 18X9 18X10 ISF discs with RR 4 pot brembo conversion Evo 5 rear brembo brakes W58 with stage 2 competition clutch TRIAL titanium catback Koyorad radiator Fmic Walbro fuel pump TRD shocks and springs K9 alarm system I can't really think of much other than i did the timing belt, water pump and a full servicing including 4 new discs and pads last year. I suppose bad points, the bootlid is off another car as mine was damaged and its bubbled on the usual spots. The rest of the car is 100% rust free and tbh, very clean underneath for a car of its age. The arches etc are perfect. Has the original mats etc inside. Heres some photos. I would really appreciate if anyone could give me some feedback. Thanks
  4. Hi lads, I'm after a bootlid but the issue is that I'm based in Southern Ireland so i'd either need it posted or need it to be in ireland so I can pick it up. Idealy, I'm after a rust free black one, I am aware that stuff isn't as easy got these days but no harm asking. I'd be willing to take one in a different colour once it has no rust. Thanks
  5. I had the car dyno'd last week Its a 1994 manual(W58) SZ running an aristo swap 2JZGTE VVTi. Still using auto ecu locked in "D". 6. Cheers! No nothing else planned. Although we did a design for offset dowels to properly fit evo calipers onto the backs of N/A single pot brakes. Just trying to see who can making them in billet.
  7. Just a few more points to add, The calipers will fit under 18" wheels but may require some grinding around the outside. The oem supra brake lines bolt up with no issue as both use m10 banjo bolts. The range rover calipers are nearly the same width as UK spec brakes. Ive found these to be far superior in every way to the stock twin pots even with the OEM master cylinder.
  8. So before https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/29.jpg And after, https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/34.jpg
  9. 10. Did several designs on CAD and 3d printed different types of brackets. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/24.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/25.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/48.jpg After we were happy with the fitment, we then we had them made in 12mm s275 steel. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/26.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/27.jpg Went and bought genuine brembo pads. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/28.jpg
  11. Hi lads and lassies, I taught I'd share a BBK with you all that myself and my mate designed. My had the small twin pot brakes and I wanted to put a bigger set on. I priced the SRT8 brake kit and noticed the front calipers alone were nearly €1k + delivery. Then I had to factor in pads, discs and the adaptor kit itself. Plus I wasn't too happy over having to cut a big notch out of the caliper. Anyway I noticed that 4 pot brembo calipers from a 2004 Range Rover TDV8 were quite reasonable. I was also happier going for the 4 pots they were as big as the 6 pots from the SRT8. There is plenty of Range Rovers in ireland and the UK so calipers can be easily got. I picked up a set from my local breakers. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/5.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/6.jpg Here is the cost breakdown. Prices can obviously vary. Calipers -> €150-€300 Pads -> €50 Isf discs -> €190 Adapter plate -> €200 Brake fluid + new banjo washers -> €20 I've plenty of photos on Imgur but I seem to have an issue embeding them onto this site so I'll upload them seperately in the next post if needs be.
  12. So the verdict. The brakes are much better. I havent pushed them at all because i want to bed them in correctly but overall im very happy with the result. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/39.jpg
  13. New banjo bolts and washers https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/33.jpg Calipers on https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/34.jpg New pads fitted https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/35.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/36.jpg Pad perfectly lined up with curvature of disc. You'd swear its OE lol. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/37.jpg Fills up wheel nicely https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/38.jpg
  14. Picked up the brackets. Had them laser cut. 12mm s275 steel. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/26.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/27.jpg Went and bought genuine brembo pads. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/28.jpg - - - Updated - - - Went and stripped the old brakes. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/29.jpg Bolted adapter on https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/30.jpg Isf discs on https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/31.jpg Gave them a lick of matt black. Im going to shorten the bolts at a later date. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/32.jpg
  15. These hi temp logos arrived. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/23.jpg So after making 7 wooden brackets, I finally got one that fits perfectly. This is for the front brakes. My mate then took measurements and made up some CAD drawings. We will be 3d printing them and test fit them. If it all works out ok, ill be forwarding the drawings on to a fabricating company and have them made up in steel. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/24.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/25.jpg - - - Updated - - - So we made the final bracket on the 3d printer and mounted it up. The calculations were absolutely spot on. The pad sits perfectly with the curvature of the disc. Wheel fits perfectly, have around 20mm of space from the tips of the caliper to the inside of the wheel Now to just get the CAD drawings over to an engineering company and have them made in 12mm thick steel.
  16. Because the brakes are so big now, the wheels look small lol. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/20.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/21.jpg No spacers required either. This is a photo from inside the wheel showing the gap from the caliper face to the wheel spokes. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/22.jpg
  17. These arrived today! J spec supra rear discs https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/14.jpg Lexus Isf discs https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/15.jpg - - - Updated - - - With the discs finally here, i was able to fine tune the design of the bracket. Because the isf disc is deeper, i didn't need anything to space the caliper out more in order for it to centre on the disc. Jspec disc vs isf disc https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/16.jpg With the disc on, i was able to tell that the caliper needed slight adjustment so i made up another new bracket(on the left). Its the 5th bracket ive made so far. I think at this rate i'll take up carpentry on the side lol. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/17.jpg I bolted it up all together. It's all nice and tight. Able to fit the wheel on. Pad is centred. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/18.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/19.jpg
  18. After doing a lot of research I discovered the most suitable disc to use was the Lexus ISF front disc. Differences Factory J spec front disc size https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/9.jpg The Lexus ISF front disc size https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/10.jpg - - - Updated - - - Mate of mine did a quick drawing up so i could work on a bracket. I sent him out the measurements and he emailed me back a to scale stencil that i printed out and fine tuned. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/11.jpg I was looking for a size of 180mm from the centre of the hub to the top of the pad inside the caliper. I cut up a small bit of 6mm plywood and worked around making a test bracket. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/12.jpg The location was perfect but for some reason I gained an extra 20mm to the top of the pad in the caliper so it was 200mm. I'll have to try figure out what i did wrong and rejig it. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/13.jpg The plan is to get the measurements spot on, measure the dept to locate it perfectly centred and then make up a plastic 3d printed bracket. If it all fits correctly i'll then send the measurements over and get a steel one made up.
  19. Measured up the RR brembo calipers after giving them a clean. Bit mouldy looking lol. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/5.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/6.jpg I ordered new high temp brembo logos but 'm insure what colour/design to go with. - - - Updated - - - So I decided to start to mock up brackets for the calipers. Wheel off, small brakes only 296mm disc https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/7.jpg The inside of the wheel is 420mm which should be plenty of space for the caliper. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/08/8.jpg
  20. So I decided to tidy up the back brakes. I wasn't really happy with the blue and I wanted proper high temperature paint. So I masked up the hub and left the caliper in situ. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/37.jpg Gave it 6 coats of high temp red. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/38.jpg I then removed the old disc after the paint dried and painted the guard black. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/39.jpg New drilled disc fitted. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/40.jpg The brembo logos were too big for the rears. Luckily i bought these high temp supra logos for refurbing uk brakes. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/41.jpg Got the logos on, then finished with 3 coats of high temp lacquer. https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/42.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/43.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/44.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/45.jpg https://jza80.mkivsupra.net/imports/imports/2020/07/46.jpg
  21. Cleaned the calipers Picked up these 4 pot brembos from a range rover to go up front. Will make a bracket over the next few weeks and will run it with a gs450h disc most likely Anyway, back to the rears. After getting new banjo bolts and caliper bolts. I went avout stripping off the old brakes Fit the spacers in Caliper bolted straight on securely. Supra brake line with banjo fitted evo calipers with no issue. Both are m10x1. Braked bled. Everything tightened and wheel back on Took it for a drive after it was fine. Im going to paint them when i mount the front calipers on.
  22. So i was having some issues with a sticky rear caliper. I wanted to get a front and rear BBK at some stage over the next year. I tried every motorfactors, toyota, cross referenced from oe numbers with no joy. I did a lot of research and read up about the evo rear brembo conversion. I already have j spec brakes so i could use my own discs etc. I decided to go ahead with it and got what parts i needed. Evo 6 rear brembo calipers with mintex racing pads. I seen this very helpful post on another forum stating that the m10 bolts for the evo calipers are slightly offset to the supras m12 holes. After that, my friend who is an engineer, made up some spacers on the 3d printer after doing drawings Turned out well. These were test items to see how it will work. Ill be getting metal ones made up after. They can take up to 130c degrees.
  23. Sorry lads I meant to add in that it's for a pre facelift manual car.
