  1. Whilst it is scary, I had the same issue in my MA70, and whilst the pedal does as you say go straight to the floor, you still have braking enough to dust off any reasonable speed (not to say that Supras really motivate reasonable speeds) doing the hard pipes is something that's incomprehensibly overlooked. But as you can imagine it's now one of my new buy jobs along with the cambelts and braided hoses. I think its too easy to get into hypebole and paranoia, just take and inspection light to it everytime you check the pads and do the full length of the hardpipes. 30 minutes boredom that can save you a lot of money. And it's piss cheap to replace them, you just need a roll of pipe and a flare tool. Shouldn't take more than an hour a corner.
  2. The boost controller works based on the boost directly. The only argument for lower boost in hot weather would be a softer spring causing the wastegate to open early thus dropping your pressures. But with a exhaust running at anything up to 800+ deg C, I can't see the 20 deg C ambient temperature difference making too much difference. You should still develop less, though because of the reduced intercooler efficiency. I think you'd just benefit from a re-set up on a dyno, to be honest.
  3. Hi All, Can anyone tell me if there are any differences between the bare (standard hardtop) chassis used for: a) the UK, A80s and the Japanese ones. b) Manual and Auto A80s, and c) Turbo and Normally Aspirated ones. The bare blocks of the 2JZ-GE & GTE. I'm aiming to build a fully stripped and caged trackday single turbo JZA80, but I'm not made of money, so since I'm going to do the pistons at very least, it might make more sense to start with a cheap NA auto and do the pistons, if the turbo manifolds will bolt up easily, and the V161 will go in without too much fuss. Comments, tips and warnings would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks!
  4. Big hello to the men and women of A80 land! Okay, I've been around the Supra scene for about 5 years now but up until now as an MA70 boy - and to be honest, at heart, I still am - I'm about to embark upon the great adventure of the MKIV and will be asking stupid questions and generally ion the beg for tuning and before that purchasing tips! p.s. Feel free to let me know about any Turbo Manuals at the lower end of the tuning spectrum! Many Thanks for everything in advance!
