found the problem took the timing tensioner off and crank angle sensor, and found the trigger wheel loose which had come off the sprocket, gonna open it all up again

Cut a long storey short, I was driving along a dual carriage way approx 50-60ish all of a sudden I get no throttle response with car still running and revs just coming down as I slow down I managed to wheel the car to a slip road, the car cuts off and will not start I started to investigate roadside, and have established I have no spark, I have checked all fueses they seem ok, the car is getting fuel, but I cannot figure out how it can loose spark while driving all fine, now that there is no spark to fire up, I am thinking that say if that the trigger wheel came away from the lower cam belt sprocket will this give me no spark too? I am baffled as I dont know where to start to solve the sparking issue, any one have faced similar experiences. The engine has been fully rebuilt uprated internals, been driving around for 2 weeks, due to be mapped this thursday, current fuel management is hks f con v pro and 850cc injectors and t51r. help appreciated thanks.
