Hahahahahahahaha Whaaahahh hahh ahahh hahhahhahhahha Just got something to tell you dude. Unless you have an LSD, the slip control button really does not seem to make a diference....I am speaking from personal expeirence, as I lost mine on a corner..in the DRY with the slip control ON and it still stepped out.....have a look at the Shes coming along thread....and you will get the picture.... lolololll

hahah well that isnt my numberplate, thats the old numberplate from the donor car where I nabbed the bumper from..
-
Actually its funny you mention that, but I was considering making a box section to go around my induction filter, with a cut out meshed part on the bonnet, to seal upto the box section...
-
Just an update, Millway are working their magic now...very very happy with the results so far....
-
hey bro looking good them lights mate...now we trading places lol

Yeah I second that. I lost mine round the corner at around the same speed, wasnt really going for it, but I could have been going a bit eaiser. You have to show these cars sooo much respect, otherwise they turn round and bite you. I have only had mine a couple of days, before my prang. Cost me a bleeding fortune it has. Bent the chassis, took out the bonnet, bumper, wing, all three alloy wheels, the blitz intercooler, both headlights, the engine fan. It had to go on a Jig, have the chassis straightend, new chassis leg welded in, new alloys, new bonnet, new wing, new fan, new undertray, new this new that...think im up at around £5k in repairs at the moment

The ones with the rover v8s are generally ok, that includes the giff. its the AJP 4.2 and 4.5 that can give the troubles out, also the speed six has a bit of a rep too

:search:wheres the stripping then????? Oh..i see, wrong forum...:D:D:D:D:D

I dont understand some people. Why would you buy a car, to make it look as far away from what it was suppost to look like as possible? You might as well not buy it. The angel eyes, i think they look naff, and are on a par with the tw@t lights you get on novas and escorts. Only one car should have them, BMW as thats where their from..The rear eyebrow lights, man that looks really tacky and cheap. HALFORDS HALFORDS is the word to remeber. If you think you could get it in halfords...dont do it for the love of pie and cream.

After spliting from my missus, i moved to a 3 bed home in knaphill. I pulled up in the supe, and darn it...couldnt get it on the driveway as its too low. My new neigbour comes out and goes, nice car mate...you wont get it on the driveway round here though....and walked back indoors....

I must admit, before getting my supe I was considering a cerbera. But after looking at a few, and I mean a few. I quickly realised that to get a half decent one you need to spend at least £14k, and when I say half decent, it really is just that. The Cerbie v8's arnt very strong, very highly strung, very agressive cam profiles, so your looking at new cams every 20k miles or so, also the crankshafts are not very strong and have a tendancy to break without warning, service bills arnt all that bad, its just the ammount of serving it needs that put me off. The chasis needs protecting every 4 or so years, and that means getting the body off to do a proper job, outriggers are also a weak spot (on the chim) and electrics woefull. Most good cerbie owners have had the engine rebuit at least once, at the cost of around 5k, and thats only really good for 50k miles before more costly servicing bills. Oil changes are around every 2-3k miles, you really need to have alot of cash to play with, and a lot of patence. I have neither...so opted for the supe....and then crashed it...but hey ho

That must of cost you a bit

Yeah, to be honest I know the general consensus is that silver is now looking a bit dated, but I just want it back how I bought it before i start changing it again Havnt ad it five mins, only done like 80 miles in it so far... altough the new buddlyclubs are now 19inch ones, and black instead of gunmetal...but i think that will look damn sexy. I do need to get hold of a trial splitter though, me bro posted somefink up on here on my behalf before I started posting myself and I cant find anyone that does them.

Yeah thanks mate, I am really pleased with millway actually. They have been 100% profesional about the whole thing, and very patient with me LOL Hopefully i might get t he car back by the end of September, but hey its no rush, im confident they know what they are doing, and pleased that progress is now being made. Although its been a costly misake, the whole experience has been...err interesting and actually quite fun..kinda nice having to find exuses to take the day off work to tinker with the supe.... The thing is when its done, what am i going to do next? hmmm mayne ill crash the Saab 900 turbo also, just for the hell of it..

Hello Guys, As you know I am new to the supra world. After having just taken delivery of my new supe in August, I stacked it into a barrier on the A308 slip road from the portway industrial estate, in Andover going towards m3 London after literally 2 days. As you can expect, I was absolutely GUTTED but hey ho...Its just one of those things, got the car recovered from my insurance company, but as I was only on third party cover at the time, I have to foot the bill on recovery and repairs myself. Turns out that in fact I had done quite allot of damage to the car. I took out all three alloy wheels, the front bumper, the blitz intercooler, the engine fan and cowling, the drivers wing and broke the backbone of the bonnet, bent the front engine chassis leg, smashed both headlights and naffed up the bumper bar, upper slam panel, and basically moved the whole front of the car around 22mm left ways... It went over to the good guys at millway, and they suggested that it goes on a jig, round the corner at BP rolls. So off it went, to Duncan at BP and I have to say I am very very happy with the quality of work. They pulled the chassis back to original spec, pulled the front chassis legs back into spec, cut the crushed leg out, and welded a whole new section back in, put new bumper bar on, new slam panel, ordered me new fan, cowling, put new wing on. I took down a second hand bonnet that cost £38, Bumper £80 and second hand and rather scruffy, but will do for now JDM headlights for £70 each, I will replace these with new items at a later date. Went there on Tuesday as they had finished to pay my £1570 odd bill, and to be honest I am dead chuffed. Took the car back to millway, and they are going to start on the finishing of the car (painting etc) and I met the paint sprayer guy and he seems REALLY particular and knows his stuff, and is a stickler for perfectionism, and he said that BP had done a 100% 1st class job on the chassis and he is confident now that when he works his magic its not going to go to waist on a bent car...lol He said that its probably straighter than when it left the factory now....good to know. Also as you know I had been asking allot of questions about Tokyo express, well, that’s all sorted now, I have the correct wheels, and it all looks like it coming together at last... here are some pics.... Only thing left that is suspect is the drivers wheel bearing hub carrier and suspension arms, which millway should sort out ok for me, but looks ok and there isn’t any obvious signs of bending or damage. So fingers crossed eh? The hub may need replacing at most, but im hoping that’s it.lol All other engine parts, like the radiator, air con condenser oil cooler etc are fine, so bit lucky there that the intercooler took the brunt of the damage, although a replacement one wasn’t cheap…oh my

Ok i have spoken to tokyo express again and we seem to be getting somewhere. looks like i am having to go with a completly different wheel i wanted to buddyclubs, but it does look like that the prev owner had installed ill fitting wheels in the 1st place. they have some ssr, 18's which look quite nice. and they seem to offer offsets closer to the origional spec. the closest i can get is +41 man this is an absalute nightmare... I am getting really pissed off with it now.
-
thanks andy where did you get your wheels from?
-
Ok thanks guys, perhaps it wasnt the best way to get some replies on here, but it worked..lol I have sent the following e-mail to them: Hello XXX, It is with regret that I have decided not proceed with the order. We did lower the car down on the test wheel over the weekend as I was able to gain access to the car in the yard and it sticks out an awful lot still by around a few mm, and it wont clear the wheel arch with the tyre on as the whole wheel takes up all the space. Also I am having to use a 5mm spacer with that wheel which is offering me only just .5mm clearance from the brake caliper, and am not happy with the strain on the wheel bearings. I would like to thank you very much for all your help, and I fully expect a refund please into my account so I can use that money to take the car to a garage who specliases in measuring up wheels for the supra.

ok no one then wow this is such a helpful forum.....

Ok Another Question I have orderd some new buddyclub wheels for my car. The origional wheels were 18x8 +35mm of set front, and 18x9+45mm for back I odered my new wheels from tokyo express, and they dont do the 18 inch ones anymore. They only have 19x8.5 +38mm for front and 19x9.5 + 38mm for backs now the origional wheels had a 4mm spacer on the fronts to clear the caliper, and were flush with the front arches, but the test fit on the new 19x8.5 =38mm front wheels dont clear the caliper, and a 5mm shim is needed to only just clear it by 1mm. and the rim pokes out slightly now from the wheel arch. i spoke to tokyo express again about my concerns, and they said that did i lower the car on the test rim as the weight of the car should pull the wheel into the arch, which i am yet to do, but frankly i am sceptical if this is going to make any difference, and they now have my money for all four wheels, and i feel like even if there is a problem that i am going to have to order them anyway........nighmare....anyone help me????
