  1. Yep, and then there will be 4 staff there and take away wear and tear on a very expensive Hub Dyno + the business would i guess like a little of the money and then throw in the fact that the guys are working a Sunday i think the price is more than fair ! O and it takes more than 30 minutes per car to get it on and off the DYNO as its a hub dyno. Not a simple strap down.
  2. Well yes you can! But the problem i have is we are low on numbers for running the DYNO. MGT Racing stated to me when i arranged the day that they will need at least 10 to run on the DYNO and they would like 14-16 really. My issue is im barely hitting 10 cars to run. Hence when speaking to the Skyline crowd they said it would be nice to invite some Supra owners along to help make up numbers and get to have a look around each others cars. Since i purchased a Skyline im amazed at how many Skyline owners are actually very intrested in supras and i know its vice versa on here. Now your welcome to come for a burger but there will be no burgers without enough cars running on the DYNO ! LOL.
  3. Just to let you all know, the skyline boys and girls are having a Dyno day and BBQ at MGT RACING based in Nuneaton. There is a few spaces left so figured i would offer the places to my old fellow Supra friends. The cost is £48 to run your car. Its also a HUB dyno so no issues strapping down etc. Now this is late notice, its this Sunday (3RD July). Please add your name on here if you want to attend so i can put your name down. Thanks Matt.
  4. Hi im selling one of my HKS Fcon Pros (gold) as i have two and only need one LOL Will fit any skyline/supra/Scooby etc with the correct harness that can be supplied also for extra (will be brand new as i will have to order it) MGT Racing in the midlands can map it along with others accross the u.k. Can be seen running in my car O the plastic cover is missing on both of them that covers up where you plug the mapping lead in, its not needed in anyway. Looking for £590 posted.
  5. Great, can i borrow it! its not for a car forum but a 'floorlayers' forum belive it or not!
  6. thats the one! LOL I thought it was a black supra! O well i guess i cant pretend its mine now LOL
  7. HI all, its been a few months since i last posted! Happy new year! Anyway. Someone used to have a avatar on here of a backend of a supra spitting flames. (guess there car?) Can someone point me in the direction of this user please? I would like to steal it for my avatar on another forum (not a car forum, but everyone knows me on there as a petrol head!) If the avatar belongs to a user on here could someone point me in the direction of that user to ask permission please. Thanks.
  8. they are both the same size and will fit either side. i have fitted them now but im not happy with the chance there wrong so im going to change them unless someone can confirm i have them the correct way around.
  9. there not genuine but led to belive they are made by the same people who make the toyota ones. I think im going to have to order the correct toyota ones to be safe
  10. thanks mate but i already read that when searching for my answer. Im confused as it says bronze out side colour. These are brown rubber? Also it says exhaust is grey colour where these are black rubber? what do you think?
  11. thats what i was thinking also. I have no numbers. Im building it for my cousin who brought the car off me a while back. He has brought a head kit direct from japan and they have put the new valve seals all in the same bag with no reference or numbers to tell them apart. However i need to get them the correct away around! what is the difference between the two sides? (exhaust/inlet) as i have measured thickness of valve shafts and they seem the same
  12. help please, waiting to refiet valves but cant work out which seal is exhaust or inlet. The new ones are different. One has a brown rubber that lips on top of the metal valve seal. The other is black and more metal on show. Which is which? The old ones i took out look the same as each other but the exhaust side has a number on but the inlet is blank . Thanks.
  13. had a quick search but cant find any direct answer. Are the standard head bolts stretch type? I.E do the head bolts need changing when you do a head gasket? Thanks.
  14. its not leaking bad at all. I didnt know it was leaking untill i took the heat sheild off and found this red powder. Im presuming its coolant that has leaked and caused the red dust as i have been adviced on this thread. I was thinking it was rust of the manifold but never seen before. As the head is off the car at the moment i would like to find out what has caused it and fix the problem if it is a leek before it gets worse.
  15. No not the head gasket. The red dust had gathered above the headgasket and behind exhaust gasket where one of these plug things are. There is no way it could of come from the headgasket as all the red dust is above the exhaust manifold rather below it where the head gasket is. Can someone confirm what the plugs with the allen key in the center are for please!
  16. update! The heads off, the valves all look like new apart from the two exhaust on number 4 cylinder, they are well coked up and wet looking. They was not sealing very well so i guess this is why it was down on compression. I guess the valve seals must be knackered on this cylinder and thats whats coked them up along with the miss fire it had. However, this red dust! It seems to be coming out of one of the plugs with the allen key in the center that run along the length of the head. I guess they lead to the water jacket? What are these for? some kind of core plug? For cleaning the water jacket on rebuilds? Whats behind them and how do they seal? I dont want to remove one untill i know what they are for! Thanks.
  17. no leak down test done, broken gauge and also my compression tester broke on re checking! Plugs was all looking fine. Im half way through taken the head off so i guess things will become clear when i have it off. Cheers for the replies.
  18. anyone else got anything to add or are we going with coolant leek?
  19. you can see the dust in the picture, i had wiped the water pipe and alot off with my hand before i took the pic. Where circled you can see it on the head and around the rear turbo. It does however look like its located around where the water pipe is connected but it goes down and under it a bit also!
  20. sorry homer, posted the same time! You talk about coolant also, i will have to double check tommorrow. The red dust is on the exhaust side of the turbos and up the back of the cool side of the rear turbo but also all over the head around cylinder 4. It is also all over the water line running over the top of the turbos. Maybe i have a crack in the turbo housing where the water is? Maybe this happened on last track day when super hot? Maybe the water pipe is leaking but it looks perfect, better than perfect! And yes its running the red toyota coolant!
  21. nope, never lossed a drip of water, and to be fair its always run on toyota long life stuff that came out very clean. All the bits on the car was chromed afew years ago and are still shinny even on the insides, no rust in the water system at all. The engine was rebuilt less than 20k miles ago also, most of it is HKS internals. Cant belive its dropped compression on 1 cylinder as it is. It has however sat for a year but has been started evryday and moved in and out of a unit. It did manage to get a missfire, i never knew about this untill a few weeks after it started as nobody decided to tell me. Only found out when i turned up and the car was being moved and i heard it when i pulled up. I dont know which cylinder the missfire was on as i just got on and changed the plugs which fixed the problem, however this smoke problem started just after. As i only see the car run once every month im going off what im told. Something has gone wrong at some point and as the guy who moves the car every day dont have a clue i dont know when it went wrong!
  22. had a quick search but cant find the answer. To cut a long story short, basically im down on compression by 20 psi on number 4. Its also started to smoke like mad on tickover hense compression test along with other tests. All other cylinders are pretty much spot on 170 psi give or take a few psi across the other 5 cylinders. . So i decide to pull the head off and have a better look! On stripping down the turbo side i was met by red dust all over the turbos and water lines and over the head around cylinder 4 (the one thats down on compression) What the hell is the red dust? Is it rust that has come adrift from the manifold maybe from heat? Im thinking maybe number 4 has gone lean and caused massive heat maybe as it seems located to this cylinder? Your thoughts please, cheers matt.
  23. 1.5 seconds shaved of the quarter time on nos with progressive on 75 jets (wet) . Been running for 5 years with no problems. Its all about the set up tho. I like a seperate fuel pump so not to drop fuel pressure etc on the engine. Yoko legal tyres. 11.7 quarter.
