  1. hello, Mines a single turbo. I would say it has been fingered rather than molested. Seriously.....any thing more than a filter/exhaust is probably classed as molested i.e boost upgrade. I think it's a case of different strokes for different folks as to ......What is too far?
  2. Hello guys, Rob.... the attachment was my car. My mate cut the bonnet by drawing the outline and then using masking tape filling in the area of the vent, and cut around it using some special blade. You have to be carefull as u have some supports running under the bonnet.

    Bmw e46 m3 would fit your bill. There nice to drive and have lovely interior and build quality. A couple of mates have them and say there good on fuel. Theres plenty of mods available for these and are pretty reliable. I was thinking about selling my supe but realised nothing could replace it.
  4. Hello guys, Mike...There is a full explantion of how heat creates energy on a thread. I think it might have been one of the turbo manufacturer website... Garrett? Mike the car is not detting and i did map it on a dynapack but at the time did not have my egt connected as it did not arrive in time. After i had it connected and went out to finish off on a road tune realised that egt temps were around the 700c mark, so tried leaning out my afr to 11.6. I am just trying to find if 700c is a safe temp (in cold at night). I read on a thread yesterday that it was fine at around 7-750 degrees c.
  5. hello guys, Mike...is ur sensor in ur downpipe? I read somewhere once that the turbo requires heat to create the energy to spin the turbo. I think that is one of the reasons why heatwrap can reduce spool times because the heat which does not escape helps spool the turbo. So Mike, if ur seeing 700 degrees from sensor in downpipe then my egt seems very low. Some folk say it can be because of too much timing advance, but if thats the case then should i not be getting any det? Another reason can be if ur fuelling is very rich, but my afr is between 11.6-11.7, so surely this can not be the cause. So is it safe for me to run at 700 degrees as i have been driving her for the last month mainly at wot and not experienced any problems?
  6. Hello guys, I love the hks to4r with the .96 ar and find it suits my driving style. Also there seems to be very little lag on this turbo and get full boost at around 4200 rpm. Mike, ur temps of 700 degrees c are on cold days, so how much difference is there on hot days as my temps were taken when cold at night? Also i have heard of engines blowing due to high egt, but has anybody blown an engine due to low egt i.e 700 degrees c? I also have 650 cc injectors so can up the boost and have fuelling to match. What is the max boost recommended for stock bottom end on shell v power?
  7. Hello mate, It sounds like u may have a boost leak. I would do a pressue test and check vacuum hoses for leaks. I had similar problems, turned out to be the bov leaking and loosing boost.
  8. hello guys, Yes mate it is a single hks to4r 0.96 ar. I was concerned that if i am running too low egt then might not be producing enough heat to generate max hp/tq. The readings i have got have been late at night, and generally air temps are cooler and on a hot day they might rise a bit. so is around 700 degrees c too low for a single? Should i wind in a bit more boost i.e 1.45 bar and check egts?

  10. hello guys, My sensor is brand new as just fitted gauge, and it is mounted in the 6th runner 2" from port. My readings are 670-680 degrees c at wot and 1.35 bar boost. I don't think my readings are way too low and my afr is around 11.6, so it isn't that rich. 1, I was curious that if my egt is this low does that give me room for more boost? 2, Also if u r egt temps are high are u closer detonation? There seems so much conflicting info on the net and mixed views so it all can get a bit confusing.
  11. Hello people, I was thinking about egt readings and did a search, but could not find an answer to my question. So i thought some one in this dept should be able to answer it. Okay so most of us know if our readings are too high, much above 850-900 degrees and chances of heat damage occurring is very likely if kept there for sustained periods. My question is, can u r egt readings be too low and if so what is considered as the lowest reading u should see as i understand that egt can reflect on timing curve and advanced timing would cause low egt while retard would cause high egt. So please if u know can u try and answer Thanks.

  13. Hello matey, Basically i fitted a greddy rs bov and found that it made the car run rich which was vented to atmosphere. Also i had one of then little hks vacuum filters fitted. The problem i got was my bov was leaking boost. I did a pressure check and found leaks from the hks vacuum filter and greddy flanges. I would check a/f ratios and do a pressure test to make sure u don't have any leaks, or block of the bov and see if it makes a difference.
  14. Hello guys I recently said the car was not for sale, but have decided finally that she has to go can't really afford to keep her. Will be going self employed and could really do with the money. So price has been REDUCED to £14,750 ono for quick sale. Open to sensible offers. Front bumper will be painted next week and car will be mopped/valeted before she goe's. I have had the MOT done so there is a full 12 mths and also taxed it for a year.

  18. Hello everyone, PRICE BEEN REDUCED £10,995 o.v.n.o for quick sale. ( There are no alloys/big brakes on car-price has been dropped ) New pictures on piston heads. I am selling my facelift supra. It has a top secret bodykit,hks to4r turbo and greddy wastegate and runs like a dream. I am only selling this due to insurance as i have picked up points and am going self employed. I have had this car for over 2 years and was the first uk owner after the import company, and have spent thousands on her. She has covered 46,000 miles and have previous mot's and has had oil/filter changes every 3k miles. I have also just had oil/filter,new timing belt and denso plugs fitted along with New helix clutch. The Turbo has been rebuilt and modded by turbo dynamics less than 2 months ago and has 10 mths warranty. The car was dynoed/mapped at 519 hp at 1.35 bar at the hubs at PJ motorsport and have dyno print outs. As u can imagine i have spent thousands and am taking a big loss selling the car for this price. I have a few spares which will go free with a car. The paintwork is in good condition although there are a few very light scrathes and odd stonechip. Engine runs great and dont know about internals as i never have opened it. It has e/w, e/m(folding), Traction control,p/s etc. I have tried to to remember as many mods as possible and have reciepts for most. If i have missed anything i will edit it. Spec list. Hello people, I'm thinking of selling my car, but I haven't read the forum rules properly about advertising so I thought i might try and get round them by making a thread about describing the mods to my car to get opinions on what it's worth. Then hopefully someone might pm me and make an offer and that way i don't have to pay my £10 membership fee to join and advertise my car here which is a lot cheaper than autotrader although there are other sites. Hopefully one of those nasty admin people won't come along and edit my post. What do you guys think?

  22. hello mate It depends on the holes for the mounting bells. I would have a word with kev at 3G brakes really helpfull. Just finished custom brakes on mates R34 gtr using 8 pot brembos of AMG, had discs and bells made by 3g.
