I genuinely think that most people have no clue what a supra is. Sometimes it gets mistaken as a Hyundai Coupe
And am I the only one who gets sucked into the following conversation on a regular basis:
Them: 'What car do you drive?'
Me: 'A Supra'
Them: 'Oh a subaru - yeah I know a bloke who used to have one of them yadda yadda yadda...'
Me: 'No, not a Subaru Impreza - it's a Supra'
Them (having not listened to a word I've said): 'yadda yadda subaru blah blah japbox waffle waffle...'
Me: 'Can I stop you there (because life's too short), it's a Supra'
Them: 'A what??'
Me: 'Toyota Supra'.
Them: Blank, vacant look.
I once had a taxi driver continue in this vein for ages - last winter when it was very snowy I had to get a taxi into work. He commented that surely I was wasting my money as my car was 4wd and should be fine in the snow. When I told him it was Rwd, he looked at me as if I was stupid, and then insisted he was right!! No amount of me telling him otherwise would change his mind. To say I was a little frustrated would be an understatement!
