  1. Could do with knowing roughly when the next one will be so that I can have a rough idea on how soon I have to get my car sorted:rolleyes: I will complete a pancake run 1 day!!!! Honest:rolleyes:
  2. I used to have one and I honestly didn't think it was that quick. Apart from having a HKS supper dragger it was still standard and running standard boost BUT the engine is the same 3S-GTE (2.0ltr twin entry turbo) that you get in the Celica GT4 and the T3 turbo on them is very restricted but with a decat, freeflow exhaust and boost controller they can go well. I think standard 0-60 is 5.9?
  3. Any pic's? If you can't post them just e-mail me at [email protected] Thanks;)
  4. Well, this has got to stop! 2 pancake runs and so far no pancake's:( Well one thing I will say is that driving 80 miles home over welsh mountains with only a handbrake to slow myself down was an experience I don't really want to repeat:scare: I decided to take a shortcut on the way but didn't realise that it was single lane width that included a VERY steep section with hairpin after hairpin which involved the car being put into first gear and a lot of praying that there wasn't anything coming the other way!!!! Anyway it was still nice to see everyone again and hopefully next time I will be able to complete the trip without something going
  5. Hi there. Thanks for the offer but when I go to carry out the conversion I will be looking for the non vvti as the vvti is a lot harder to fit and a lot more complex:rolleyes: The earlier non vvti is a straight fit and as long as I find one with the loom, ECU, down pipes and ancilleries then the costs are reduced dramaticaly:) Thanks again!
  6. Definitely mate. Need something to cheer me up now! See you there;)
  7. Its already gone:( Really not happy because I doubt I'll find another with everything on it for that money again. Nevermind I'll just keep looking for another one. Definitely doing this eventually!
  8. Ad, I thinking of meeting you at the shed in the morning! What time will you be there?
  9. I LMAO when i saw this!!! I might have a black car but you have..................... you.................you have...........................um................ i'll think of something:blink:
  10. OMG! Haven't seen this car before but from the pics and spec I love it! Can't believe it hasn't sold at that price! Hope you get some luck soon;)
  11. Well to be honest I might just get a specialist weekend driving only cover on it because it's the only time it ever gets driven! But I'll look around first and see if it needs to come to that!
  12. Right then Ad, I will try my very best to make it on Saturday! What time are you meeting...........................er................................um............................i want to say Nick:search: at Furrows?
  13. With that kind of weight difference I'm assuming so. I'm positive that the V8 is alloy and I think I've read on a thread here somewhere that the 6 is cast. As for the noise, well, I really do love the sound of the 6, I honestly think its the sweetest engine tone! But I'm sure the looks I get off people when they hear the sound of a V8 coming from a Supra will make me smile!
  14. Well once I've got the engine I'll have to source all of the other parts that I'll need like the exhaust, adaptor plate between the engine and box, new plugs and belts etc, then save up so that I can go to Mike one week and give him a handfull of cash and the keys and say i'll see him in a week! One thing that I will definitely miss though is that sound of a decatted straight 6 howling away:( Although I'm sure the V8 could make me smile:D Other added bonus too (apart from the increase in power:D) is that the V8 is about 60-70Kg lighter than the straight 6!
  15. Yeah, spoke to Mike last night and he seemed confident that it should be reasonably straight forward. Spoke to the lad with the engine and he said that I can have the engine with the full wiring loom, ECU, all of the ancilleries and I asked him if I could have the exhaust manifolds and downpipes to save on getting custom jobbies and he said he's happy for me to take them if I have it! I can't believe Neil keeps putting that decat off. Its such an easy job and it only takes 30 mins! Do you still need me to ring you?
  16. I don't know whether I'm coming or not yet!!! Damn you people!! Do you realise that peer pressure is a form of bullying!!!
  17. Well after spending most of today having a threeway conversation with cowboy bebob who has carried this coversion out himself and the mechanic whop will be carring the conversion out for me, this looks like its on the cards!! Will give full details on friday!!
  18. Well so far there's nothing swaying me towards this conversion, seemed like a good idea at the time because the article said that it would drop straight in and the gear box would mate up with an adaptor plate but from what you've said Chris it seems like more hassle than what its worth! Thanks for the input though guys, I'll keep thinking of things to bug you with!
