In his books The Power of Now & A New Earth, Eckhart Tolle speaks of people really misunderstanding the God concept and indeed the heaven and hell one. Chasing these things can seriously get in the way of actually living in the present. He says Eternity is here... now - Not some place you go after you die. With a slight shift in perspective, it helps one worry less about the will I get into (the man made heaven) or will I go to (the man made) hell, but instead, to enjoy this moment right now is a good way forward. I like that

I see it's already had several incarnations... Once it was Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. Perhaps? But I'm keen to hear Alex's p.o.v given he stated his relationship with the big man. It is not about disproving god imho, but about expanding upon what Alex is actually saying. But fundamentally you are right, these threads always go the same way What I would say though is he's very good at the banter and entertaining differing opinions and doesn't take it too personally - at least I hope he doesn't.
