i was thinking this aswell. i know id be a bit more upset seeing someone die than i would hearing a michael jackson joke.

if i joked about somebody when they were alive im not not going to joke about them because they are dead.

its like that nice awkwardness when the bad guys and good guys team up in movies. ...me being the good guy obviously.

its because he was famous that the jokes are about him. if i was to die and the entire internet were dedicating jokes to me then i would surely have left a lasting impression.

the underlying point is that my gran is a close relative, anyone her that close to michael jackson?....didnt think so. if somebody came on here and posted up a thread about a close relative etc dieing then id know to keep my mouth shut.

just out of curiosity what are your views on insulting jokes/remarks etc when they are alive? as surely the people who may get offended by them when the subject is dead will also be offended by them when they are alive.

i attended my first ever funeral 2 months ago, it was my grans. so yes ive been through the whole losing a relative thing. my grandfather at the moment is seriously ill with prostate cancer, hes been suffering with it for 10 years but he is forever cracking jokes about the whole situation, his pet hate is people being downbeat about it. im obviously not going to go up to some random person who has just lost a child etc and crack jokes to them about it but then again im not going to worry about offending people who have no connection what so ever with the subject of the joke. obviously my taste in humour is way different to many on here.

i just used those as examples as theyve all passed away so why is it acceptable to make jokes about one and not the other? if doing wrong means they are open to jokes when they pass away then let the kiddy fiddling jokes commence........

im not a religious person but i cant help thinking of the line 'he without sin cast the first stone' i find it hard to believe that the people on here against the jokes have gone through life without cracking a joke or laughing at someones joke about the deceased (or any other comedy which may be contraversial, as come on humour is at its best when its contraversial) wether it be hitler,hussain,jacko,diana etc etc

i hope its not to soon to post jokes....... jockeys at all of tomorrows meetings will wear black arm bands out of respect for jacko who successfully rode more 3 yr olds than anyone in memory. .....its the way i tell them
