we used my packs that are out the engine im stripping rebuilding, only done 60k according to lee. we put the packs in, and took it for a test drive, all was well, pulled like a mother hubbard, and no misfire, then 40mins later i get a txt saying back to misfiring, is it possible it could be the plugs are just now upto the job? with my black car, we used the care plugs that jamie and lee used, although these were about £20 per plug if i remember right. im thinking plugs coil packs(doubtful though now) ignitor clips

So as some of you know i'm rebuilding my Engine, doing a total refresh from top to bottom. With the Engine being 20yrs+ old now, most if not all nuts, bolts are all rusty, falling apart, look terrible. My question is this, where can i get new ones other than Toyota, or does it need to be ordered Specifically to like say the Oil Pump nuts and bolts i pulled off? Or can we use anything with the same pitch, length, etc? Thanks
-
PM price id only need the car though
-
so since your having problems with the car i'll buy it off you good build dude, been watching it closely as it gives me tips, and idea's wth my build
-
sake, off to look at new wheels now, dam it
-
defo will be aero is my first choice, and will be stock bodied, after having the black ridox id love to go that route again but there is too many now, same as the ccw wheels. been doing lots of research as to what id like, iv got the wheels picked out already, keeping them a secret, NO one has these

Well today i managed to make some good progress - Crank Sprocket off, M6x1mm metric bolts about 70mm if anyone needs to know? Front and Rear Crank Seal Out Oil Pump out(must be a pig doing it in the car) Flipped over lower sump off then upper sump off and Internals of sump out bagged and tagged. This just leaves me with pistons and crank to pop out, which i'll get to over the wknd, as im away 2 days with work now. But im defo getting there now, soon as this is done i'll get the everything put in a tank and washed and cleaned ready for paint. Pulley tool for crank sprocket, m6x1mm 70mm long Front crank seal out, with all bolt for oil pump. Lower part of sump off, what a mess with oil when i turned it over on stand, mop up was required, lol Real crank seal Gubbings out Oil Pump Off Upper lower sump off As she stands now
-
yeah i could do that, but knowing my luck id damage something, i'll go with the m6x1 bolts, and use the pulley tool like i did with the crank pulley to pop it off.
-
tbh its more of, if i have the right tool? would have taken me half the time if i have everything, suppose as i go along i build up the tools needed for the job, then big jobs turn into simple jobs you still popping over at wknd? need to pull pistons, crank, and oil pan off, prob be messy
-
Had another spare hour today so managed to get off Crank Pulley water pump timing belt timing belt tensioner cover just need to remove crank sproket with some M6x1mm bolts now, i dont have any so wil pop to local shop to buy some, then pull that off with oil pump.
-
thanks chris will take this to the company that i might use, i have a good engine, only thing so far iv seen it a gasket that been in bits at the thermostat area. will get a good look inside block once i get crank pulley off. looking into it just now bud, the ultrasonic cleaning looks awesome and to me looks best, but a tank looks just as good. i'll do some more digging about my area as i dont wana send it away, id rather be local and watch them do it tbh
-
So getting to the stage now where i've got the crank pulley to pop off, pistons and crank out then its time to clean all the parts. Is there anything i should consider when i send off to the Place that will clean it in the tank?
-
uh oh, thats looks stuffed time to go bigger
