  7. ok. ive been to about 15 different garages and none of them will do the laser aligment for me due to not being able to get it on the ramp, the gauge not fitting between the wheel and the wing, or the bumper being too low for the laser to go to the other wheel!!! urgently need this doing and also camber setting up. can anyone recomend anywhere and some settings please? i have 19" wheels and lowered on eibach springs. I live in barnsley but am willing to travel if the job can be done correctly! Thanks in advance, Luke
  8. ok, ecu wiring back to as it was before attempting to hook up the SLD. checked all fuses (under bonnet and drivers footwell) and all relays (swapped about etc) still no joy MIL light (orange, right hand side of the steering wheel display) is on all the time very faint and cat temp light (red) on all the time very faint, even when keys are taken out of the ignition the lights stay on! car does turn over, but thats it...i could sit here all night doing that! please please please can someone enlighten me???? im getting morngy now because it won't work lol. And I have to have it running before saturday as its going for camber setting up!?!? thanks in advance, Luke ALSO, when key is switched to position 2 (for the warning light checks) the MIL light (orange) doesnt come on, it used to come on for a few secs then go out...

  12. i have a similar problem....used the paperclip method to read the diagnostics at the weekend and found code 42. my red triangle light on the rev counter is on ALL the time, doesnt reset after turning the ignition off or anything like that...but the orange engine shaped light on the right hand side never comes on (called the MIL light if i remember correctly?) my car has been converted to MPH (although i suspect it is not reading the speed very acurately) but is still limited to 112mph (shows 135mph with dodgy speedo converter!) any advice/help? Ta!
  13. Just got back from the MOT station, he was going to fail it for no rear fog light (don't think its ever had one fitted TBH) but as it passed everything else with flying colours he decided to let it slip oh yeh, and probably the fact that i just had 4 brand new tyres from them last week, lol.... not cheap!!!
  14. I dont care, lol, i love em and so do the ladies lol, cheers dude
  15. ok cool, thats a start, lol, where is he and how do i contact him?
  16. the other day i had 2 new tyres on the rear (running on 265/30/19) while the garage were changing the tyres i decided to have a good look at the fronts and was horrified when i saw the inside edge of both sides, they were worn down and past the metal threads, but the rest of the tyre had LOADS of tread on it. So i first suspected that they were rubbing on somthing as it had completely taken the inside edge off, but no, there was at least 1" clearance all around even when on full lock! After much ummming and ahhhing my friend and I decided it must be the camber and alignment of the wheels, does this sound right to anyone? and if so, does anyone know the settings for camber for my size wheel??? please please help as i had to have 2 tyres put on the front today as i feared the knackered ones would go pop! cost me a bloody arm and a leg and don't really want the same thing to happen again many thanks, Luke

  22. A very experience mechanic has just been taking a look under my bonnet and felt the return pipe to the radiator and said there was pressure in it as it was 'hard'. Got me worried because he said this could be due to the head on its way out or a crack in the head etc!? The car drives fine, pulls very well and the temp gauge sits at a fraction under the halfway mark all the time, do I have reason to be worried or is he trying to set himself up for billing me a heafty repair bill? advice please regards, Luke
  23. No trouble, lol, i need some anyway, this thread just inspired me to get off my lazy a$$ and find some
