  1. Whilst mine doesn't smoke, it does like to backfire after coming off boost. I notice the AFR's are also totally lean if I'm off the throttle but in gear climbing down so to speak. Is that something to worry about? As soon as I touch on the throttle again it goes back into the mid 13's in the orange band. After a full throttle burst the other day on the motorway, I came off the loud pedal and the guy following me said there was a huge flame accompanying the big backfire.
  2. What do the main beams on UK's require? If it's the same, I'll take them.
  3. The FG ones from carmadstyling (ebay) are apparently an excellent fit and at around £75 a piece may end up worth replacing rather than fixing. It's just that I'm desperate to keep the car externals stock/oem.
  4. bollox. I tried to snipe the ebay ones which were lying around on £132 with a £200 bid (bearing in mind one was cracked) and lost Guess it's going to have to be FG unless I can find some patience. Ooops the missus is coming in .... maybe next year then
  5. What happened Michael? Did you smell something?

    HID's

They look like the kits we had on here as a group buy last year. These came with their own relay and required direct wiring to the battery. I was considering buying more of these (from these guys on ebay) for the main bean as it don't feel right moving from a white dipped light to a yellow mainbeam on a run. Feedback looks good on them as well.
  7. You need to get back down to Hereford quick. The Town are pressing for promotion again Queen of the South indeed. After reading the recent threads I thought this related to Havard and his gay texts!

    Heya

Well they are cheaper for a start, and if it's your every day driver and you are in slow moving or stop start traffic, it can be quite tiresome with a manual. That said though when you're pushing it on there is nothing that compares to moving up and down the box when you want to rather than the computer doing it. Especially as it always likes to kick down halfway around a corner in my experience.
  9. I've got one and only use it to time runs really. When it's in use I jump out, lock the car and when I'm 100 yards away it switches off. Nice. Then I walk back to lock it again (as many of them, incuding my greddy, unlock the car on switchoff.) It has been said on here that the insurers aren't happy with them and can negate your policy but I've stated it on the mods list to my insurers which has covered my back. The Greddy one can give you 1/4 mile times and 0 - 60 etc so comes in handy if you are practicing your drag launches etc.
  10. All the best mate and Welcome. All the best with your quest for a Supra. Respect the difference between a front wheel and a rear wheel drive though if you haven't the experience.
  11. Thats a lovely deep red but I wasn't too impressed with the engine bay considering the money. That turbo needs a beanie as a minimum It all depends how well it lays down the horses iu guess all in a lump or smoothly progressive through the band. Little mention of the suspension as well but I'm guessing it's absoloutely perfect otherwise Jurgen wouldn't be interested in putting his name to it.
  12. I use mininova.org and Utorrent as the downloading software.

    Heya

The car isn't but you sure are.... Keep the faith until you get the chance then exploit it to it's fullest. Get down to Japfest next Month and meet the forum and their cars. That way you'll never change your mind!
  14. Good to meet everyone again, and happy birthday Tigger. Deano, based on my description, my Missus wants to buy your seats but I told her they'd be no good for the Volvo
  15. On my way home tonight I pulled up to turn off the main road and steam came pouring out of the bonnet. I nearly crapped myself thinking that either that blingy battey cover had set fire to the car, or that it had blown despite no warnings on the gauges. Opened the bonnet and water was p*ssing over the turbo and once it had calmed down the high temperature hose which goes into the turbo was the cause. I've cut the offending inch off and it looks like it got scorched by the only bit of turbo not covered by the beanie. Hopefully there is enough pipe to just reconnect which I'll do in the morning but in the meantime... this is the offending article!

    Falken 452?

So you definitely noticed a difference then. I went to the drag strip last weekend and only managed average 2.6 secs 60 foot time with the falkens on... I appreciate I have to learn to launch better and and that improving the suspension from stock would help but I'm wondering how much the falkens were responsible for the crappy traction. I had them at 30 then 20 pressure with little difference. Care to comment?
  17. They don't look that cool attached to a shed though
  18. Is that the one original and one fibreglass? Have you seen the crack in the one of the skirts he has for sale
  19. Thanks for your advice, I've looked at all the sites but want polyurethane originals thanks. Ebay did you say
  20. Excellent... I will now retire hurt. You win and I profusely apologise for bumping this 'for sale' thread to the top on 4 occasions My God the kids will suffer in class for this tomorrow!
  21. Well you may say that but my lad and I were jaw dropping at the look of yours from behind.. the rear facelift spat lights make a really good look and emphasize just how wide your car is. As you passed at the end your exhaust note was so grumbly it was real coool. Looking forward to meeting you again and see how you progress with the single or not question Anyone else want to join our mutual respect society And as for Mr Cardiff(I'll be there)supra. Cried 3 times FFS. Good job you're not a united supporter as you'd flood the pitch Oh and Jon... hope you got the pants cleaned up after the drive ... stilll waiting for my 6 points and speeding fine
