  1. At long last the Pictures of my first Soop.
  2. I was going to take some pics of the supra at lunchtime but some inconsiderate git has blocked me in with his little green 206, (Don't get me wrong I like the 206, our other car is a 206 Convertible, hence me buying the Supra to feel more manly) So I left him a note telling him to be more considerate and that when i found him we would have words, however, as I have no actual power in my workplace I might have to just threaten him with physical violence.
  3. I got it! And it is excellent! I really love this car and I have only owned it for 12 hours. I will get some pictures in my Garage as soon as i can take them. The only annoying things are The CD Changer skips like hell. I am putting this down to the excellent stiff suspension on the car. Secondly, possibly more worrying, is that there is white steam coming out the exhaust, well after you would expect it to be after starting. I rang my father who is a mechanic, he says it is probably just that the car has not been used in a long time due to being in the showroom and that the cats need to dry out properly. But he told me to ask on here as he is not a Toyota Specialist. Can anyone help? But luckily, if the above is a major drama, i can just whip the car back to the guy who sold it to me as i have a 3 month warranty. Feels good to be a card (Car??) Carrying member of the site now guys. Dale
  4. Cool, Where are you getting yours from? I notice you are in Devon, I looked at a red one near Barnstaple, with a silver sticker along the bottom of the door. Mint Car (except for the sticker). Dale
  5. Got the money in my hands now, Picking the car up at 6 30 tonight. Whats should I do if the last owner cries as I drive off? Apparantly she is very attached to the car, hehe. Can't wait! Can't wait! *hops about!*
  6. Thanks guys, I am picking it up hopefully on Monday, but this is work dependant, so it may be tuesday. I hope you guys are now ready for my onslaught of what may be extremely stupid questions.
  7. Update! Went to test drive a second time and the engine was solid as a rock! He had already sorted it and put it down to dampness getting in during a steam clean. So i promptly paid my deposit and then he told me about how he has a policy of MOTing all cars he sells that have less than 6 months MOT Left, so I can go pick it up on Monday with 12 months full MOT! what a bonus. Hopefully should have some pics on Monday
  8. This is exactly what it was doing! Methinks a deposit is in line this afternoon then. Thanks guys, Hopefully will have some pics soon!
  9. I rang him this morning, The seatbelt thing was fixed, it was merely the belt had twisted and then been fed back into the reel. With regards to the Hesitancy, he said that he would have a look at it then take it for a nice long run. He put it down to the fact that the car hadn't been on a long run in a while, whilst it was sitting in the showroom. So i am off today straight after work at 4 30 to have another look.
  10. It seems to be well serviced, The woman who owns it is married to the owner of the garage selling it. Plus i work with her and everyone is telling me how much she loved the car etc. It has had a new timing belt put in recently and the guys that owns the garage says that he can show me every little thing that has been done to the car since it was imported. To be honest, i think it is just bad luck that it happened when i was driving. Quick question though, when i got there the batterywas flat, as apparantly someone had left the door open all night. Could this have affected the Engine managment? The Mileage on the car is 155000 KMs
  11. Damn! Went to Test drive the car this lunchtime and found two problems! First, the drivers seatbelt is very sluggish on retracting. Second the car has a slight hesitation, it feels like it misses slightly as you try to accelerate hard and if you are just cruising along just maintaining the revs, it feels like it is hesitating every now and then. The garage owner said he would have a look at it and i am to go back tomorrow to test drive it again.
  12. I think, finally, after many long months of searching I am about to get my Supra! I have found a 95 NA Manual, totally standard for sale and it turns out i even work with the woman who is selling it!! Looked the car over this afternoon, going to test drive tomorrow and barring anything unforseen will be dropping off a deposit right afterwards. Woohoo! Dale
  13. Hi mate, Finally a question i can help with, (IT Helpdesk geek here!) I am not sure if your laptop would have one but it is possible that your brightness level has been adjusted way too low. So have a look at this. However if you don't remember adjusting it this low, which you probably don't hehe, then unfortunately it means that the screen is not getting enough power. Does it get brighter when you plug it into the power pack? Give it a full charge and if this makes no difference, you will have to return it to where you bought it if you have warranty. Dale
  14. Brilliant guys! Genius! The Aircon was on at the time now i think about it! Problem solved, now i just need to find something else to beat down the price with. Thanks again guys. Dale
  15. Hi everyone, I am looking at buying a 93 N/A, It has an HKS decatted exhaust, K&N Cone filter, Remapped Chip, plus a remote start system. What I saw though was that when the car was sat at idle, it would sit at a healthy sounding smooth idle of about 900 RPM and it would stay here for about 10 seconds, then it would rise to 1100 RPM, still healthy sounding and smooth, for a further 10 seconds, before going back down to 900 again and starting the cycle again. Does anyone know of this problem and if it is something that needs fixed? and if it does how much could it cost? I already found something in the search that was slightly similar regading O2 sensors? could this be similar? Thanks Dale
  16. First of all, Doh! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, thats a great thread, i have printed it off and I am studying it as we speak. And thanks for making me feel welcome guys. (A rare thing on forum sites these days) Hopefully I will soon have a Supra to put pictures of on here. Dale
  17. Hey Guys, I am going to look at a 93 N/A Manual this weekend, I was just wondering if anyone had any tips as to what to look for? (My apolgies if this has been covered but i searched and found nothing) I don't want to think I have covered everything to then find out that I paid too much etc. Also, i f i could be so cheeky as to ask, any idea what it would be worth? Like I say, its a 93 N/A Manual, 74K Miles, it has a HKS Exhaust, 18" Khan alloys, K&N Filter and apparantly has a full toyota service history. When I rang the owner, he said that the only bad point was that one of the alloys was slightly kerbed. Thanks in advance guys, Dale
