  6. I'm thinking about getting Recaro seats for the Sup. However I’m struggling to find sub frames. I’ve heard you can get genuine ones for around £400 but every other manufacturer seems to do a pair for about half that! Has anyone put Recaro’s in and gone through this already? Or do people just opt for Sparco's when they see Recaro's price list!
  7. I need to get some minor body repairs carried out and I’ve just visited 'Little Knocks' near Uxbridge and the premises seem very clean and professional. Before I commit my car to them - has anyone used them or know someone who has, I’m looking for feedback? Alternatively does anyone know of a good body shop north west of London? I work in Uxbridge but live near Maidenhead so anywhere in that radius, thanks guys!
  8. just seen this its only got 49k on it apparently... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1995-UK-SUPPLIED-TOYOTA-SUPRA-AUTO-BLACK_W0QQitemZ4633634455QQcategoryZ18290QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. ...has just scratched my paintwork!!!! Anyone near Uxbridge, Maidenhead or Reading know of a decent body shop? I need to get a couple of marks touched up anyway. T**t has put a scratch on the door about 4 inches long, the side of the boot opening has a couple of chips that need sorting, and the bumper has a light scrape on the front corner. Any ideas how much this would cost, these are all very small???
  10. Only two. I stupidly bought the ones on the top of the boot, these are hard plastic and do not wear out at all! damn things were more expensive than the bottom ones!
  11. My car got imported in 2000 complete with dark tints front and rear and its never been stopped. However in the dark it is a PITA to see out of at junctions, i usually have to open the windows to be 'safe'.
  12. The screws are held in with loctite. One side of mine came out easy the other i had to drill as i rounded off the screws (I was unaware of the damn loctite at that point!). Try and get some thinners in the screw thread to release the loctite and use the appropiate screw driver to limit an issues!
  13. Just another point sunlight damages carbon fibre so paint can be a way of protecting it. Yachts that have carbon fibre masts or decks are often painted for this reason. Here is the techy bit: "Developed composite material temperatures in excess of the original cure temperature of the composite will cause discoloration of the resin system. This discoloration can range from a very light golden caramel colour to a deep, brownish black burnt appearance. The light discoloration will occur naturally over time and with continued direct exposure to sunlight, and not necessarily be a result of temperature exposure."
  14. No - think of all the cars you can buy for £200,000 + that have carbon panels with immaculate finishes. Sure if you hit it with a hammer you will damage the paint the same way as a metal panel, but bikes that have slid across the ground at 100mph+ just have big gouges taken out - not cracking (at long as they don’t hit a wall!) I don’t know the science behind the materials but as far as I know it’s the same as painting plastic. Done well its fine and can take reasonable knocks. Done badly it will be crap as you say – its usually all in the preparation just don’t cut corners.
  15. Get a carbon fibre one, they weigh next to nothing. I'm involved with a Superbike team and the bikes all run carbon fibre panels that get sprayed. They don’t even look too bad after being dropped out on the track or after a seasons hard racing (for any pannels that survive!). Just make sure you get it done properly and don’t use a crap sprayer.
  16. I've got an aero top supra and have been struggling with a place to put my sub whilst keeping the stock spare wheel and space to clip in the roof in. At the moment I have a loose box in the boot that I just sling on the back seat when I put the roof in but this is not ideal. I was wondering if there was space where the foam bits are either side of the wheel to do something. Has anyone come up with a novel idea, custom box perhaps?
  17. Thanks for all this but can anyone describe the process? i.e. unbolt this, unplug that, swear a little, then hit this very hard – supporting pictures if anyone has them would make it numpty proof!
  18. Do you take the callipers off? Wire brush close to the disc sounds scary!
  19. So J-spec callipers might be useless compared to UK spec ones but at least with some paint they can look a bit better! I have seen various threads but never a definitive guide to painting J-spec callipers. Does anyone have a step by step guide to prepping and painting callipers for the mechanically impaired?

    Tool Kit

i had the sub and amp. Was the first thing i ripped out! the space the sub box left was a good place to mount my new amps vertically. You have good place to bolt and secure everything and it still leaves room for the areo top

    Tool Kit

The big space has a first aid kit in it on mine. Its the standard size for one, fits perfectly. You can get a new one from halfrauds.
  22. Well I can make some more as I don't have one! Out of interest what price did he make them for?
  23. Hello all, I work for a large print/copier manufacturer and have various tools at my disposal. If someone has the PDf's of an owners manual I could make a few... cheap
