  1. Nic, I know you are getting me prices on bilstein shocks and top mounts for rear suspension, but can you also give me a list of all parts needed for suspension overhaul as detailed above? Cheers.
  2. Nice one Nic. I want to get this sorted asap. Does anyone know the torques on the bolts holding the suspension on?
  3. He did an NA to single turbo.....and started with a VVTi TT engine? Do you mean he then changed the TT into a single T?
  4. There is a noise in the back of my sup....Another one! I took it in to Whifbitz and the noise has been pin pointed to either the top mount or the shock on the driver side rear suspesion. Can anyone tell me, are the shocks and mounts the same on both sides? I want to take the shock of one side and put it on the other to see if the noise moves...then I willknw if I need to replace the shocks or just the top mount without forking out any cash. Also, anyone know where I can get shocks (Bilstein) and the top mount at a good price?
  5. I need a top mount for the driver side rear suspension. I have a creaking in the back of my car and its either that or the shock itself. PM me if you have one I can buy! or if anyone has one that they need but is of the car for a while can I borrow it to see if that is the problem? Cheer people!
  6. I need a top mount for the rear driver side suspension, got one?
  7. I never put anythiing in the centre console. I always wonder how it works, also, why don't wires effect it if metal things do?
  8. the sensor is in the car, under the center console. I only had the alarm fitted about 3 months ago by Matt Harwood.
  9. Has anyone with a clifford alarm got the following problem. The noise it makes when someone gets close, to warn them away. Mine seems to make it every 30 mins or so. I decreased the sensitivity, but then I can lean on the car without it making the noise. The first stage of sensitivity it works on, it does it every 30 mins.....sometimes not for a couple of hours, sometimes more frequent. For example, its done it twice while I have been typing this! Ideas? Matt, can you help maybe?
  10. you say component....you mean 6.5s and tweeters included?
  11. what do you think on looks then people?
  12. I have found the correct brain unit. If you bought this aswell you would have everything (minus the cables which are standard ISO cables....but extended, and a bus cable which you can get from kenwood, or ebay, or where ever). This one is expensive though. I got mine for £25. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KENWOOD-EXCELON-HIDEAWAY-BRAIN-TUNER-VZ907-A907-P907_W0QQitemZ5861609709QQcategoryZ94841QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem The kenwood brains that work are: A907 and kvc-100r. I have a 907 in my car. This one might work, which would give you 5.1 sound. I am not sure though: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kenwood-KVT-910-911-Brain-Hideaway-Main-Unit_W0QQitemZ5859727303QQcategoryZ48605QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  13. I would like all the answers to this too. As I posted the same question only about 5 threads down in the list! If someone who has done this could post a list of parts that need to be changed that would be good, and maybe a rough costing? Cheers
  14. No. The head unit touch screen only works for kenwood sat nav, kenwood cd changers, and if you get a hideaway brain you can use DAB radio. The TV tuner is built into the headunit and you don't actually need the hideaway, just some diversity antennas which you can pick up for £10 a pair (two pairs for best reception). I have these but have not installed them.
  15. Yes thats right. you can pick up the hideaway part on ebay. I got mine for £25. It has the power cables and a remote control. To be honest I have everything installed in my car (screen, hideaway, navigation) and all I use it the screen and nav.
  16. OK, I have posted some pics of this and my new dvd install here:- http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=56570&page=3&highlight=dvd I am very lazy and didn't want to type it all out again so check it out there Offers please!
  17. Sorry guys, I forgot all about the pics! I have just taken some 5 mins ago, its dark outside so I did the best I could with a flash. Incidently I have another monitor forsale like the one in my car. Its a kenwood kvc-1000. 6.5" touch screen monitor with navigation input. One thing about the one for sale is that it is italian. Everything is the same as the UK one, except when you go into setup for screen angle, colour, contrast, brightness, those types of things are in italian....takes about 10 seconds to work out what is what though so no worries. Easiest way to see the specs of it are by looking at the kenwood manual: http://kenwood.nl.nt.ims.hr/languages/EN/support/manuals/KVC-1000%20(EN).pdf If you are interested PM me. It doesn't have the brain unit with it though, just the monitor. You will only need the brain if you want to use the radio on it or the built in TV tuner (which I have not used). Then again there is a radio on the dvd player so problem sorted
  18. Being a little dumb I managed to buy 2 sets of these....I forgot I bought the first set. I thought I looked at some online and was going to go back and buy them. Turns out I bought them the first time and the second time I looked at them.....doh!! They are £18, inc postage. No bulbs included but the ones in the orage indicators are the same. This is exactly the same price I paid (except I paid extra for postage). So...who wants em......
  19. I agree some things on ebay are not as they seem. I only ever buy from people with high ratings and good feedback. I haven't bought anything that has been not as discribed for over 4 years now.....and I shop on ebay for just about everything!
  20. I don't mean to be a kill joy Sean, but I have to point out to other memebers. I just bought this kit off ebay for £16
  21. I wasn't taking about the conversion kit. I want to take my engine out and put a TT in. Also you have to take into account the time and effort to make the car how you want it all over again.
