Pic of mine can be found here... no doubt it is one of the suspects in question http://www.l1f3.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/supe.JPG

One I seen at the civic had an oldish greying looking guy driving it (so guessing that ain't you from your age) Seen a nice looking black one for the first time last week as well on Sunderland Road. Think it had a veilside front end on it. Only ones I have seen to be honest in the area
-
Cheers for the advice lads!! Have pmd' Lovatt. Probably easier getting em refurbed

It isn't mate. I use my company car all week. Supe only comes out a few times a week So may not have been me after all you flashed at. Only seen one other silver Supe in the area, and that was last week outside the civic in gateshead. Looks very similar to mine to be honest...
-
The silver one on Bensham bank would have been mine I think, only live 2 mins from there... apologies if you flashed and I ignored you.. have been suffering this week from flashy flashy race me syndrome from other drivers Either that or I was donald ducked after work and oblivious to everything!!

Anyone know where to aquire some complete lights from then? Nou fussed about them being new. Cheapest I seem to have found them for is £350? That seem about the going rate? Cheers
-
Can you replace the J-spec plastic headlight covers with glass front without replacing the whole light cluster? May sound a stupid question to those in the know. If you can just get the glass anyone know where from and a rough idea of the cost? Cheers Dave P.S. Did a search and can find loads on cleaning the j-spec lights and buying uk glass lights but not the actual glass.

Realised it must be the fact its a Supra sadly... have never had it happen with the T5 I used to drive (fast but not boy racer) or even the VTS I owned a few years back... must be the curse of the Jap sports car
-
Or more specifically the speaker cover (mines a bit dented). Don't know if the speaker cover is seperate though or part of the door. Must be in good nick. My door card is immaculate other than the speaker cover. Anyone? Ta

Okay having a winge already Since owning my Supra on Sunday I have had on three seperate occasions drivers behind me acting like complete muppets!! Driving home after picking the car up, was on the M6, or A66 can't remember which one. Was nicely overtaking in the outside lane when some guy in a Mitsubishi flew up behind me blaring the horn and flashing. I speed up having to overtake everything on the inside and the guy stop next to me and starts pointing forward out of his window in a gesture to get my foot down??!! Same thing happens on a drive down the coast on Monday? Although guy didn't stop this time he just flew past... Is it a common conception of other people that if you have a car that goes quick that you want to race with them? Sadly I found the driver on the drive up Sunday really dangerous, as if I hadn't sped up he was drifting back and forward really close to my back bumper. Have since been worrying that I might of gone through a camera (not knowing the roads down there) when I put my foot down to pass traffic on the inside. Just wondered if anyone else who just enjoys the car for its looks, and appreciates there speed but don't neccesarily feel the need to prove it get irritated by drivers like this?

A hub ind a switch basically do the same thing, however a switch does it more efficiently (easiest way to explain it without getting over technical). Best thing to do is buy a switch, they used to be a fortune compared to hubs, now there so cheap it kinda makes hubs redundant

They do indeed look nice when there cleaned up as you said Hadyn

Will take some pics tomorrow of the actual wheels. For now all I have is this i'm afraid... http://www.l1f3.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/supe.JPG

Possibly for sale. Don't like them to be honest and they could do with some TLC. Rather than spending cash on getting them refurbed I'm thinking of just selling wheels and tyres and getting a nice set of 18s' An honest description of them would be as follows: They are 17" Slit rims. Four decent tyres, all have 4 or 5mm still on them. Two of them have missing centre caps. All four on the outher rim have varying degrees of curbing (previous owner). No big chunks out. The wheel seems to have some kind of chroming on them, this is really dull on 3 of them, and the 4th looks to have been alloys the normal dull silver (possibly painted). The centres of the wheels as well are a bit worse for wear, corrosion damage visible on them as well as the two remaining centre caps. I know I have made them sound awful, but would rather be honest about them. Don't know if anyone would be interested in them to have them refurbed or not? Seemingly they are a very expensive wheel over in Japan & the US, just not my cup of tea. Tyres are... Front 235.45.17 Rears are 255.40.17 These of any interest to anyone possibly?

Give em a bell fella. They did give me the choice of mileage. I tried to go for a 4000 mile policy and they said the minimum they could drop to on the classic policy was 6k, so by minimum i'm guessing you can up this further

With most companys you have max discount at 5 years NCB (60-65% or so depending on the company). Even though they ask how many years you have, 5 years or 15 years really equates to the same % of discount with most insurance firms.
-
Sorry read your original post a one years NCB. Probably is the postcode tbh.
-
You sure thats right? I was insured with admiral until the weekend. Best they could do me was £980 and that was for a NA on an L plate with 7 years NCB and I'm 28... I have declared after market kit, wheels, induction kit and exhaust though. Didn't think you could protect a years no claims either?
-
Same problem I had with the bigger insurers (like Direct Line and Admiral). Kept saying the only '93 model Supra they have is an 'FI' and they would just put it down as that... I thought that was pretty dodgy since again I was telling them the car was a SZ
-
It is restricted to 6000 miles a year. I'm 28, have 7 yrs NCB, but they did say they ignore anything over 5yrs NCB anyway.
-
Having had quotes from everywhere (including Sky). The cheapest I could get it for was £980 fully comp. However on Friday I was given a number by the guy I was buying y Supe from. Thought it was worth a try. The company is Lancaster insurance. They can be found here http://www.lancaster-ins.co.uk/ Because my car is more than 10 years old it qualifys for there classic car policy. Only downside to it is that unlike mst policys you are no longer insured to drive others cars third party (made no difference to me having a company car really). The good thing was though they knocked of nearly £300 off the cheapest quote I have had so far!! Including an agreeded settlement figure on right off AND announcing all the modifications to it (exhaust, induction kit, bodykit etc). Worth a try for anyone looking at a renewal
-
Not that simple from what I've read by doing searches on here by the looks of it. Looks as though the old rivets are no good once there out and you need replacements. Wish the car I was getting didn't have split rims to be honest as normal alloys are a hell of a lot cheaper to have repaired
-
Good news!! Jarrow only 10 minutes up the road from me £100 a wheel for splitrims though think the car needs at least two of em done, and new centre caps.. could turn into an expensive item to sort, especially considering I don't reallt like the multispoke rays splitrims Ah well will have to do until a nice set of 18 or 19s can be afforded Cheers for the help.

Cheers for the help Anyone got a number/location or web address for envy by chance? by me... Jurgen I noticed your from Newcastle... can you suggest somewhere local for any work I need carried out on my new toy? like servicing, repairs etc?

Car I'm thinking of buying was examined for me today. One thing picked up was low power steering fluid. The guy who owns it (has had it since import about 14 months) says he has never thought to check it so didn't realise. The guy examining the car could see no leaks and could see nothing wrong with the steering rack,. The car also had no whirring/shudders or anything when driving it. Basically the car drove 100% as it should. Is there anything to worry about with the fluid being low? Just I have owned many a car with power steering fluid, and although I have checked them I have never had the need to even top up any of them? Just wondering if this could be the sign of an underlying fault? Any help appreciated.
