don't go there mate, I've been getting all sorts lately. I spoke to the guy yesterday and he wants to know when it's 10 years old to the dot due to wanting it on classic insurance. I did not know you could on ours, but from reading older threads this does seem to be the case.. Jim -
I have a guy very interested in buying my Supra and has requested the year & month of manufacture (so he can put it on classic car insurance). Now, with the details I have, I work it out to be about March / April 1997 it was built. As a lot of you guys are more clued up than I, could you confirm if this is correct or not, as I just want to make sure I have the details correct before texting him back. Spec: Toyota Supra 3.0L N/A Facelift (non-vvti version) P reg 1997, White 5 Gear Manual. Taken from the chassis plate: Model: E-JZA80-ALMVF Engine: 3JZ-GE 2997cc Frame No: JZA80-0039840 Colour: 040 Trim: FA20 Trans/Axle: W58 A01A Plant/Built:A22 Where I got the info: http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/specs.htm Cheeeeeeeers!!

I do have a little soft spot for the old VW Camper vans & such, but this find is just remarkable: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200090584764&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Fcgiurl%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%252Fws%252F%26fkr%3D1%26from%3DR8%26satitle%3D200090584764%26category0%3D%26fvi%3D1 Still really hard to believe that this thing had not been touched for the last 33 years. Just amazing! (well I think so ) I am surprised it did not go for more?

Cool, cheers maty. Been trying to refine the description for a couple of weeks now . Just dont want to put people off by them having to read a whole book , but at the same I really want to put as much detail in there as I can. Very tricky.

If you want a small, unique looking, fully loaded (leather, electric everything, soft top etc.. you really cant go wrong with a Figaro. My other half (fiagrojo) has had hers for a couple of years now and loves it to bits. A while ago she drove a new Ford Fiesta and really loathed it, she could not wait to get back in her car again. I've driven it many times (no gay jokes please ) and it really is a great little car. Nice and cheap on service, parts etc.. due to the Micra build underneath. One thing I will say is make sure you do your home work, like many cars, there are many bad examples. Hope this helps. Jim

Before putting on Autotrader tomorrow for £6800, I have lowered my price to £6500 for any forum members. This really is a cracking car for the price (which I would say that , but this is coming from many mates who think I'm mad selling at that price due to it's condition) I'm looking in to getting an Audi A2, so if someone wishes to PX with one this may be considered. (and no horrible comments on next choice of car please ) Jim

Could not find D1 GrandPrix on ebay so done search on google: http://uk.gamespot.com/ps2/driving/d1grandprix/index.html Seems gamespot dont think much of it. Best to stick with Forza or Project Gotham (you can do great donuts & drifting on that) Jim

The spec: -Toyota Supra 3.0L N/A Facelift (non-vvti version) -P reg 1997, -White (Still VERY bright) -5 Gear Manual. -67500 Kilometres = 45000 Miles. For 10 years old and low mileage, this still drives like a new car. Taken from the chassis plate -Model: E-JZA80-ALMVF -Engine: 3JZ-GE 2997cc -Frame No: JZA80-0039840 -Colour: 040 -Trim: FA20 -Trans/Axle: W58 A01A -Plant/Built:A22 Info on abbreviations can be found here: http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/specs.htm Added over the years: -Toad Cat 1 Alarm system -JL-Audio Speakers front and back. -Pioneer Touch screen CD Player (also plays MP3 CD's) -18" Wolfrace Tokyo Alloys. (plenty of tread left on Avon tyres) -2 Years ago both rear shocks where changed -New Custom made stainless steal exhaust de-catted. (have kept cat just in case MOT centre get funny) -Edit: This week (19-04-07) it has had..New cambelt & New spark plugs fitted. The bad bits: -Both right side alloys are curbed. With the correct instructions these can be re-furbed at home. Good site for alloy repair: http://bettercarcare.com/how-to-repair-alloy-wheels.html Little more info: -The car was brought in to the country 01-12-2003 by a local garage, for which I then purchased on 30-12-2003, so I'm shown as 2nd keeper on the supplied log book (well a bit of V5 paper as all cars now have) -Since ownership the car has had full service & MOT every year. -All paper work will be supplied on every bit of work that has been done on the car since I've owned it. -As said above, I've owned this car for just over 3 years now and use it daily. Never had any problems, starts first time, the engine bay is so clean you could it your dinner off of it. Having looked around at other N/A examples out there, I do think you will find it hard to find one as good as this that has not been molested one way or another. Sure, you can get one for a few grand cheaper but you will pay the price in the end to get it as clean as this. Any expert is more than welcome to come and see to prove me wrong. I stand by my word! "yep, I'm VERY gutted on having to sell!" -So my asking price is £6400 As I've said, any checks on the car are MORE then welcome, I can even put you in touch with the garage that service and know my car. They can confirm what a great example this is. http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/4513/img3691er2.jpg (You will find a few more pics in "my garage") for looking. Jim
