  1. ok its going like shit, paint has reacted with something overnight its showing up like scratches and cracks, also around the edge of some filler, had a bloke round who used to do it for a living suggested using a stopper/sealer first, allthough couldnt suggest why it had reacted, everyone says i have done it right its just one of those things. one good point he was very impressed with the actual spray job . anyway paint shop sold me some primer/filler and suggested that i take it right back down as it will have to much paint on and will never seal and probably sag, allthough he phoned his expert who said that i should just very lightly sand with 800 to 1000 grit and go straight to basecoat, but i am not sure if he realised how many layers it has on at mo. tested the primer on a dash part i was having problems with and that was fine but another piece reacted again. also there has been no reaction on primer or basecoat just the pearl. got to get it right this time as they have run out of paint and i am out of patience and the will to live what should i do, have no problem with the spraying just the method now.
  2. cheers will have a look tomorrow
  3. suppose it would be easier to spray doors and try them at this stage, and respray if not ok.
  4. not half as much as me mate starting to wish i had payed someone to do it. It has gone on ok apart from a large bit of dust in pearl on wing that is bugging me, but maybe worrying about nothing.
  5. shit does this really mean i need to do all again ?
  6. just came back to this thread to say that.
  7. this is probably a thick question but how would i spray inside the doors and pillars at same time, door hinge side etc.

  11. whoops. i appreciate all comments mate, glad you told me, maybe i can take that bit extra effort spraying the doors in as close a pattern etc. as the wings. fingers crossed eh!!
  12. managed four coats mate. thinking that should be ample on pearl. doors, bonnet, roof, boot, and spoiler are ready for tommorow. there easy now compared to shell :)

  14. how do you get the door mirror glass out of its housing, is it ball and socket, just pull or is there a knack to it??
  15. colour wise is similiar, but it stops there. this will lokk loads better btw. managed to get it sprayed today.

  18. thanks mate, i know but.............nothing ultimate colour coding
  19. i am asked to put tenders in for large companies where in theory there could be good money, but i just bin them its not worth the risk and the wait, they prefer to deal with smaller companies as they think they are easier to fob off, one i did do for £18,000 took 4 months to pay as they were supposedly waiting for a cheque to clear. they are a multi million pound company, i had to threaten the manager in the end to get paid. never again.
  20. just watched crime watch out of 15-20 men wanted only 3 were english rest were middle east or imigrants from elsewhere, one was even deported and snuck back in bastards
  21. that usually means they are taking the blame, whatever they offer (unless its ideal) don't accept and push for that little bit more, but be calm and polite, it will be no different to bartering, he is a salesmen at the end of the day
  22. you can,t demand a new sub frame unless thats the only option all they have to do is repair it. you can have it inspected by somebody independent if you are not satisfied with what they have done and then take it further.
