About This Club

Supra Superchager enthusiasts.
  1. What's new in this club
  2. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?344664-800HP-Phantom-With-A-2JZ http://www.speedhunters.com/2017/08/phantom-magic-bye-bye-v12-hello-2jz/
  3. If anyone comes across any further information re. this conversion, please post it on this page. If not, one fine day I may have a tinker with this and develop a conversion kit myself?
  4. The supercharger set-up on this 1G-GZE would be the easiest to transplant onto a Supra, it’s a Toyota made Roots M90 charger and the 1G straight 6 cylinder 2.0 litre engine is not a lot different externally to the 1J and 2J engines. This could easily be developed into a 160bhp bolt on kit for 1JZ and 2JZ-GE engines. One of these running at it's max of 7-8psi with stock 10:1 compression, would turn an N/A into a tyre-smoking stock-T.T. Supra slayer. These units can be picked up in Australia for around $150AU. This conversion has been done by someone in Ireland, but I can’t find any details? There is/was also a part completed 1G-GZE supercharger onto 2JZA80-GE (N/A Supra) project shown somewhere @ Nengun performance?
  5. Found this clip of a Mk 3 with twin-charged 2J-GE?
  6. Come for a ride in my Rocket Ship. [video=youtube_share;TFb-tvM7g88] The best bit of that clip is regaining traction in first by manually cutting the timing and slipping the torque-converter. When it broke loose, I held the throttle steady and pressed then held the up-change button, which via the AEM cuts the ignition timing back to 6 degrees BTDC and via Suprastick unlocks the torque-converter, traction regained, I then released the button when time came to change into second. You can't see my finger move, but it shows on the waving clocks and in among the noises. Home made Manualised Launch Traction Control in action.
  7. Presently @ 8psi but after the last of the Gremlins are chased out the target is 18psi.
  8. For reference; 1G-GZE 8:1 camshaft spec Lobe separation 113° TDC Exhaust Duration 240° Exhaust Valve timing - Opening 53° BBDC Exhaust Valve timing - Closing 7° ATDC Lobe separation 112° TDC Intake Duration 228° Intake Valve timing - Opening 2° BTDC Intake Valve timing - Closing 46° ABDC
  9. I have been researching the blanking plate, it appears that it definitely increases the noise and possibly increases power! It goes on a bit, but almost gets there in the end. http://xjr6.co.uk/index.php?topic=22.0 What do you think of this mod Adam?
  10. I haven't heard of that mod before, are you dissapointed that your new charger will be quieter? Post any links you have to this please, I am interested to learn more about this.
  11. Just won one for £225 deliverd.Time for round 2.Has anybody ever used a supercharger blanking plate. They are supposed to help the flow ,but make the charger a bit louder.I think it basicly acts the same as welding the noise reduction slots closed.
  12. ha thats true .theres 3 on ebay that im watching so fingers crossed ,they finish the end of the week.
  13. Hello Shane & Mike, welcome aboard, now we are 5. Please add a Supra related supercharger photo or 2 to the group. For reference, I have uploaded some new Supra supercharger links. If you know of any more, please post the link and I add them to the list.
  14. These jobs fight you all the way, it's just another wind-up, but look on the bright side, at least it was kind enough to do it close to home and when fixed you will have a sweeter, donkeyless whine to listen to.
  15. well my charger has let go big time and munched itself up.Looks like one of the rear bearings let go big time and the other one was on its way out aswell.Check out the pics in my build thread.
  16. I don't do facebook Barney, and it's a bit late now anyway I hope, but could be a useful link for someone else. I was informed today that Toyota have been cheaply selling off new old stock of 1G-GZE complete engines.
  17. if you are on facebook this guy is a wealth of knowledge and has been really helpfull http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1664966419289&set=a.1664965419264.2081956.1091106710&theater#!/pages/Supercharger-Performance/115513988588
  18. Are we three GeeZErs or the three GeeZedEe’rs. If anyone has a link to a 1J or 2J supercharger project, please post it up and I can keep these on one page near the top and build up a database. This 1G-GZE supercharger set-up would be the easiest to transplant onto a Supra, it’s a Toyota made Roots M90 charger and the 1G straight 6 cylinder 2.0 litre engine is not a lot different externally to the 1J and 2J engines and this supercharger is good for 7-8psi. This could easily be developed into a bolt on kit for 1JZ and 2JZ-GE engines. One of these would turn an N/A auto into a tyre smoking stock T.T. Supra slayer. These units can be picked up in Australia for around $150AU. I remember this has been done by someone in Ireland, but I can’t find any details? There is also a part completed 1G-GZE supercharger onto 2JZA80-GE (N/A Supra) project shown @ Nengun performance.
  19. Links to Supercharger build threads, kits, interesting pics and videos, will add as they appear. 20. No plagiarism here then. Best be careful not to overheat your GTZE 'Flux Capacitor'.
  21. 3 charger projects and 3 different chargers !!! Work chargers a bit too hard and they make hotter air , work turbos a bit too hard and they go bang!! Bonus!!
  22. Good idea david would be good to pick pointers off eachother
  23. For better/for worse, there is a growing interest with supercharging Supra's, both N/A and T.T. I (soon to be GZE) have yet to meet either Barney GZE or Adam soon to be GTZE, yet I am sure we will have much to discuss when we do. MkIV club members are becoming/have become World leaders with these Z conversions, I believe we should be proud of this and I have created this group as a focal point. I'm not a 'badge man', but maybe OE looking Supra GZE and GTZE car badges should be awarded out at a Club meet like medals? Barney Brendan, you are hereby awarded the coveted order of the GZE, may your Supra wear this badge with pride! P.S. Post a pic or 2 in the album.
