Aftermarket Exhausts

It seems to me that nearly very Supra I see either on the road or at meets has an aftermarket exhaust.

I have a standard one on mine, am I the only one??

I appreciate the benefits of a larger bore exhaust, lets the engine breath, more air= more power and all that BUT can anyone advise me as to a make of exhaust thats not TOO LOUD as in my line of work I can't afford any unwanted attention from Black Rat traffic barstewards.

Thankyou

The nurspec is quite a respectable exhaust with the noise reduction baffle in :)

Hence I never use it

Likewise!

Sounds fantastic especially in enclosed spaces, can't remember how much quieter it was with the baffle in though!

The HKS Hiper is a quiet (quiet for aftermarket anyway) exhaust as far as I'm aware.

If it's excessive noise you don't want - then steer clear of the Nur Spec & RSR. Just imo.

The Hiper is one of the loudest out there, it just doesnt drone.

Disagree Bobbeh .. mate. When I was at CW getting my decat .. he was saying that the Hiper was alot quieter than RSR/Blitz because it's more restrictive.

Secondly, imo when I heard Pete Sharps car that a Hiper on ... I thought that was quiet for a HKS.

If you're after a quiet(ish) exhaust then you can rule out the NUR, RSR and just about all the Ti ones, they're pretty loud even with baffles in.

I also thought the Hiper wasn't one of the really loud exhuasts, heard quite a few now any none have been close to the noise level of a NUR or RSR. That said they do sound very nice :)

The HKS Superdragger is pretty quiet and I think there's a new version of the Hiper out that is supposed to be very quiet

have to say that of all the supes i have seen (heard) the superdragger has to be the quietest it is made from galvanised steel whereas a lot of the others are stainless and this is where the problem lies, stainless resonates making them noisy hence they last longer but are feckin noisy, i'me like you mate setting off for work at 6:30 with the dragger is bad enough with the neighbours (only 1 complaint) with a nur-spec i'de probably have an ASBO

I should go for the HKS Superdragger, does have the looks but sounds not so loud. We are gonna mount it on a customer car that wants bpu but not so loud exhaust.

The most beautiful sound is HKS Ti along with a single though....:D

My Amuse R1 Titan exhaust is quite loud, not as loud as the Nur i had on but definately sounds more aggressive. there's no drone or anything like that, when you put your foot down it does only growl and is quite respectable otherwise. it's a bit pricey though!!
