imi
?? that's about 580bhp fwhp (assuming 25% transmission losses)
Guest AI99
yes! 500 is taken as the safe limit 500 at the wheels right? dont want to confuse it with crank power
j_jza80
IMO that's too much, I'd not run more than approx 400whp on an auto, and I'd have an updated cooler fitted.
Guest AI99
IMO that's too much, I'd not run more than approx 400whp on an auto, and I'd have an updated cooler fitted. The owner told me when it was remapped he was told it was safe and gearbox oil was changed to synthetic, and it can run 465rwhp without any problem, but I'm getting mixed views... imi
normally 500 on the fly is thought to be a safe figure, some do push more (have a look at the ECU register), dont forget its not just the power, its the torque. imi
j_jza80
I used to have a uk spec auto running approx 450hp (flywheel) and the transmission would very hot when driven on track. However, used autoboxes are that cheap that you could almost consider them a consumable if necessary (you could easily buy 2 used autoboxes for the price of a half decent updated clutch for a manual).
