One more tip when priming alloy, make sure you get out all the past corrosion, and wipe well with spirit wipe before priming.

i did that mate but i used meths for cleaning the wheel is that right?

i also wiped down with a tacky cloth

thanks for the tips tho!:) ;)

I just done my spare set of wheels and used all Halfrauds own brand stuff.

I left my primer to dry over night and gave them two coats, then did the same with the paint and then lacquered them.

EDIT: just to add, I washed mine with petrol before painting.

Bad move i'm afraid:( petrol leaves a residue, hope the paint stays on there, meths is far better although not ideal.

Body prep , body clean stuff is what you use when doing the bodywork of a car.

About £10 from a motorfactor for 5 litre.

It's good stuff!

Meths can dissolve the paint, especially primer. Not as harsh as thinners.

Thinners is only good on bare metal, it will soften the paint.

I left about week between cleaning and painting and wiped them down with a damp cloth.

They seem ok at the moment as I have just had some new tires put on them.
