Prof. Monkey
Hi bought an engine stand, to mount my engine on, whilst I work on it, can you tell me which points on the engine (flywheel end) are best used and which bolts I should use. If you know the the thread type and size that would be of great help.... Many, many thanks. Darren
Prof. Monkey
Anyone?
Chris Wilson
Mount on 4 of the bellhousing bolt holes, and space the arms fairly equally around the block. Use good grade bolts with adequate thread in the block. A lot of el cheapo stands won't safely hold the weight of a fully dressed MKIV engine. Ian C
They are something crazy, those bolts, something like M14 or M16 metric fine, absolute bastard to find. -Ian

Chris Wilson
You will have them, use the original gearbox bellhousing bolts, with spacers if required.
