Spintastic.

I don't believe that those people paid all that money. I think the BPI are scared of it going to court because the downloaders would either get off or get a small fine. So they offered the downloaders a get-out on condition that they agreed to pretend they had to pay a lot of money.

I mean, why would the BPI want to settle out of court? £50k is nothing to them. If they really want to stop downloaders why not make an example of a few folks?

I wish it had gone to court. It would have been funny if the offenders had been fined thirty quid or somesuch amount. The BPI can't risk that happening because folks would think 'Thirty quid if I get caught? So what?'

you just have to go to local car boot sales to see the huge amount of people selling games films and music. they the people they need to make an example of. its them that are making big money out of it. they should come down hard on the people who run car boot sales who allow it to go on. if they fined them £10,000 it would soon make them stop it going on. there is a big car boot sale in leeds run by the council. lots of stalls sell designer goods and you always got it in your mind they are snide copys.

i think the whole downloading thing off net is out of control. i have been to a mates house and they had a very big list of pirate dvd`s they can get from a local supplier it was 12 a4 pages of dvd films and 2 pages of x-box games.
