Induction Kit Benefits

Just wanted to know what the best option is for induction. (performance, reliability)

Standard airbox with standard panel filter

Standard airbox with aftermarket panel filter (state choice)

Aftermarket induction kit (state choice)

My vote, standard airbox, TRD filter.

Wish it was easy to fit the stock airbox with a single setup.....

No worries, basically to summarize for you....keep the stock airbox with a stock panel filter or if you want a TRD filter for a stock performing car or BPU.

Like I said in my post....for a small single turbo I would love to keep a similar setup if it would allow.

thanks for the replies guys. just had a look through old treads and will definately be keeping the stock airbox. The previous owner gave me standard, hks, and trd panel filters. So will be fitting the trd panel filter.

Dyno tests are generally done with the bonnet open, with a huge fan blowing air at the front of the car, in this situation the induction kit may slightly improve power.

In real world driving, the induction kit will be drawing air in from a hot engine bay and will probably lose power.

No benefit what so ever, the airbox is not sealed so the cool air feeds are useless and the filter will suck in hot air from under the bonnet.

what about if it was sealed? that pic was only taken with the cover off to show the filter

i did something like that on my last car but in the end i took it off because i was worried about one day driving through a deep puddle and sucking up water through it. Mine was a bit lower down though
